I had a mini split installed in my townhouse. They handled the mechanical portion as well as the electrical portion. I received a quote from them and it was very competitive with the market. They installed a Mitsubishi condenser and two head units. The team installed the head units quickly and efficiently. Finished the mechanical portion of the install in under 2 full days. The electrician had scheduling issues but after speaking with their management team, the owner Hoa came out the next day to finish up the electrical work before the upcoming heat wave. I had no issues other than the scheduling one but the owner came through with the quick turnaround. Still awaiting surge protector and inspection but that will happen next week. read more

Reliable installed my Daiken heating system in 2022 in my 1950's home. Reliable Heater & Cooling Did a great job, with a few exceptions: 1) Since my house is older, the power supply was 100 amps and needs to be upgraded to accommodate the new system. I had already shopped around for an electrician anticipating retiring my old heating system for a modern system that included cooling in the summer. The cost was between $5k and $8k to upgrade to a 200 amp supply. Reliable said they had an electrician who could do the work for $5 to upgrade my supply to 200 amps. They said they were confident in the number. Their install team came out, removed my furnace, and installed the new system. However, no one ever scheduled the electrician. As the homeowner, it was my responsibility to coordinate and schedule Puget Sound Energy so I could add additional service to the system (200 amp). Without the electrician, I would have no power to my home since they would need to disconnect the existing supply in order to add additional service. Fortunately, I was able to reschedule PSE. The Electrician finally came out to "bid" the job and was upset and frustrated because I have a concrete tile roof (this roof will last a lifetime with maintenance). I told the Electrician I would take care of the roofer and they would need to just install the service. Reliable increased my bid by over $5k to cover the "additional" electrical work due to my roof. Remember, they had already removed my old system, so I was in a "no return" situation. In addition, I had to have my roofer come out and remove some tiles so that the electrician could complete their work. The roofer does not work for free; 2) The HVAC was placed in my attic. I was told that is the best location for efficiency. I specifically asked if the system required a conditioned space in my attic. They said no, and the system would be fine. That was false. The system runs based on the temperature of my attic since the thermostat is on the unit. Make sure you research "conditioned space" in your attic or crawl, especially if your home is older. It is a little more difficult to create a conditioned space after the installation. 3) Reliable Heating and Cooling required a larger access to my attic and increased the size of my access. They had to call in a specialist since my house was so old. They installed a new access door with a ladder but did not complete the job. One of the gas struts was missing and the door would not shut completely. It took a few weeks for Reliable to come out, and when they did, they treated me as if I was a nagging customer demanding perfection until the guy actually opened and shut the door himself. It took another couple of days for them to order the replace the missing strut. The installer claimed he had put both struts on the door. I don't even know where to begin to put a strut on the door much less remove one. 4) The system ran great through the remainder of that fall but froze up during the winter. Reliable did send me an email in the winter of 2022-2023 saying that the system may freeze in the cold. This past fall, 2023, my system gave me a U2 error code. I looked it up, and it is an error on the outside unit electronics, most likely a replacement of the control board. I called zip "Reliable Heating" and they told me that since Reliable Heating went out of business I would need to pay for repair. I told them I have a 10-year warranty. They corrected themselves to inform me that the unit was covered, but I would need to pay for labor. I contacted Daiken for help and they sent me to a website with a list of contractors. I have been stewing over this for the past year and decided I should share my experience. I blame myself for not doing a better job of background checking. Why shouldn't I demand perfection? I paid a professional for a professional job. All I can say at this point is "Buyer be aware!!!!". Do your research. Look into conditioned spaces and make sure your outdoor unit is capable of cold weather use. I now have to find an alternative heat source for the cold weather and someone to fix the error on my system. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Don't waste your time on this company. I usually don't bother writing reviews but this experience has been so terrible. First off I was referred to this company by my home warranty and off the bat it was already difficult to book my initial diagnostic appointment. After the first diagnostic appointment there was a delay for them to send over their diagnostic report to my home warranty company. I called multiple times to follow up and no one ever answers the phone. I called multiple times throughout the day hoping someone would answer. And left a couple voicemails as well. No one ever called me back about any update on the status of the report until I harassed my home warranty company for a new contract since Reliable Heating was very unresponsive. Finally someone from Reliable Heating called me back and scheduled to replace a part in my furnace that was failing. At this point it's basically a month of my heater not working. When they showed up to replace the failing part, the guy realizes that they in fact had ordered the incorrect part. So he says he has to go all the way to Kirkland to get the correct part, it was a late appointment so he said he would return another day and someone will give me a heads up on when they'll come back to replace it. A couple days later no one has called me, and I've already been calling everyday for an update. No one calls me back despite leaving them voicemails yet again. About a week later my home warranty company reaches out to me that Reliable Heating and Cooling is no longer able to finish the repair due to lack of technicians. If your company is going to be so busy and unresponsive then don't accept the job in the first place. You not only wasted my time, but it's literally in the middle of winter and I've now had a broken heater for almost a month and a half. read more

BEST PRICES by far! I scheduled a lot of in-home consultations (too many in hindsight), but these guys were over $1,000 cheaper than the next closest company, and waaay cheaper than going through Costco, or anyone else for the matter, because they don't have overhead. They were also the only company I consulted with that gives you a two year warranty on labor, in addition to the standard 10 year warranty on parts. This company is relatively new, but these guys have a ton of experience. I decided to consult them for a heat pump installation after having such a good experience with their technician, Sean. He was assigned to fix our broken furnace in the middle of Snowmageddon by our home warranty company, and he accurately diagnosed the problem within minutes. He further earned my respect by talking about how much he enjoys his job and loves fixing things, versus being a salesman. I was completely sold on this company after Nick, the company owner, came out to give me an estimate on a heat pump installation. He was the only person to tell me that, given the high efficiency of my existing furnace, I really wouldn't gain much by spending a lot of extra money on a heat pump versus a normal air conditioning unit. He also pointed out a couple things that were installed incorrectly on my existing system that no one else seemed to notice. Best prices, stellar service, and genuinely honest. I've worked with many hvac contractors in the past but this has by far been the best. Nick showed up to my house on time for our furnace repair. He had no issues with me overlooking him as he was trying to figure out what was wrong. After the diagnosis he searched around very hard for the part because I told him about the kids in my home. Knowing that, he called his office right away and asked if there was a way for them to move the schedule around because the part is in town and he was able to get it right away. Able to fix the furnace on the same day already is a 5 star to me. I was referred to Reliable Heating and Cooling through HomeAdvisor for replacing my natural gas furnace with a heat pump. While the installation was good and the heat pump mostly works as advertised, the contractor did not set up the heat pump properly to adequately heat my house during cold weather, despite the heat pump being rated to produce compressor heat down to -5 degrees outside temperature and their assurances that my house will stay adequately heated. I have repeatedly attempted to reach out to the contractor to get this issue resolved. The contractor has either ignored my communication, or the one service call that was finally scheduled was cancelled and not adequately followed up on to reschedule. Attempting to raise this issue to HomeAdvisor has also proven to be quite an ordeal. I strongly recommend to look elsewhere for HVAC work, as both the contractor and HomeAdvisor have demonstrated a serious deficiency in their ability to address issues properly. read more

Terrible installers of gas furnace. Almost started a house fire because of improper adjustment of gas pressure. Caused a lot of smoke and melted plastic in furnace. Follow up service call to fix problem didn't do much as the air coming out was around 370 degrees. The tech suggested that they cut an additional vent in the back of the furnace to reduce the temperature. Of course they would charge another $1000 to do this for me. I checked with the manufacture to see if this was OK and they said definitely not and it would void the warranty. Obviously terrible advice. Finally after several weeks they sent a third tech out that knew what he was doing. Reduced the gas pressure and now it heats OK. The fan is still noisy and it seems it's out of balance and may have been damaged by the excessive heat. After at least 20 phone calls over 3 months with multiple promises to replace the fan under warranty they never showed up to their appointments to replace the fan. Just found out they went out of business and were bought by another company. Maybe now we'll get it fixed but will have to pay for service calls and labor which should have been covered by warranty from Reliable Heating. read more

They will create the illusion and 7 years later when you think you have a company to honor the agreement, the hurdles and blindsides come into play. $1570 for labor on a coil for a basement heat pump. Very reasonably priced and quick turnaround replacing my gas furnace fire vent actuator and water heater. Their installers are knowledgeable, but my only issue was that the installer damaged my water heater when he unboxed it in the driveway then dollied it into my garage leaving two long horizontal dents/creases on it caused by the weight of the water heater leaning against the crossbars of the dolly. This job was a bit sloppy, hence the loss of a star. Other than this, I was happy with their work. read more

So, I've been out of heat for about a year plus because most heating companies are looking to make the biggest profit they can. I initially had 2 companies come over and assess my old furnace both which then lead me to believe I needed a new one and that I will be looking to pay over 6 grand. I ended up putting this up until now, this winter being as cold as it was I decided that my wood fireplace wasn't enough to go on another cold winter. This is when I found Reliable heating and cooling, right away Nick came over to check on the old furnace. This time I had a good feeling about things, Nick took his time and asked me questions about the furnace. He then proceeded to run some tests and concluded that I would need a new circuit board to make my furnace run again. He also explained that it was old but not as old as other companies had lead me to believe and that he would personally make sure my family did not go through another cold winter. Finally after waiting for about a week the new circuit board was put in and my furnace ran again. I truly appreciate companies that are people over profit.
