A very low-key place perfect for spending an afternoon drinking delicious kombucha and playing assorted board games. My wife and I have been here multiple times across multiple trips to Anchorage, and every time we are delighted by the new and delicious flavors they have to offer. We love the garage-brewery atmosphere, with many comfortable places to sit and the aforementioned board games. The service is wonderful as well, the staff is very knowledgeable and recognized us when we came back. Customer service really doesn't get better than that. My only gripe is that I can't come here more often. read more

I love the kombucha from here. I think they have a great variety of flavors, and the booch has an awesome taste to it. It's also fizzy which is how I like my kombucha. The blueberry Mary is my favorite followed by the Mandy mint. Not only do they offer a great selection of locally brewed kombucha since September they now offer alcoholic kombucha, hard seltzer and even beer! What an amazing variety all carried in one tiny brewery! I went to the taproom for the first time when they had the black Label booch release party. The tap room is fairly small like most other breweries in the area, but it is clean and has a cool layout. In the summer they leave the large garage door open. Before COVID Glacier bowl had taken up permanent residence there, but I'm not too sure what the food situation is going to look like post COVID. The Black Label Booch is amazing. Seriously if you enjoy alcohol you need to try this. It's the best alcoholic kombucha I've ever had. My favorite flavors were portals and fiery morning. I was impressed by the high ABV on a few of them. I still need to try the hard seltzer and beer. I have a feeling I'll really enjoy the hard seltzer based on their boozy booch, Zip is a great spot to try kombucha for the first time, and more importantly try alcoholic kombucha if you've never had it! read more

Easily accessible off the Campbell Creek green belt! They offer indoor and outdoor seating and have an area out front to secure your bikes. Very friendly service and happy to help you find what your taste buds desire. They offer "hard kombucha" which has alcohol in it, or "kombucha" which is non alcoholic. In addition they have an in house wine, sangria and IPA. Really enjoyed being able to ride our bikes here and hangout. read more

Love this place! Parking is a little tight. They have a lot in the back you can park in. They have 4 kombucha flavors that are the regulars, and two flavors that are rotating. You can do a kombucha flight and sample all 6! Growler fills are $7 for 32oz and $14 for 64oz. They do have a few beers on tap also, but you cannot get a growler of beer. I ordered the Hawaiian guacamole as a snack. So so good! read more

Anchorage has truly arrived! In the past few years we've gotten: Our first prohibition-style bar, our first cidery, our first Asian fusion spot(s) and now...our first kombucha bar! This place has killer ambiance. The kombucha taps are up on a loft/deck. They also have beer, hard cider, wine (a San Gria booch/wine hybrid to be specific), and food/snacks. They also have assorted food items (that I didn't sample, next time!) They have a charcuterie-ish platter that is insanely clever in its naming "adult lunchables". You can walk into the area where they brew and ferment the kombucha, it looks very similar to what you'd see at a brewery. The seating area has great natural light and a sweet, sweet vintage chess set! I got a kombucha flight, it choose two of their house 'buchas and two seasonals: Year Round: Blueberry Mary: great blueberry taste, not overly sweet or "artificial blueberry" in taste. Great expression of the fruit while still tasting like 'booch. Ginger Rogers: a little on the sweet side for me. I like my ginger VERY strong and spicy, and the ginger was pretty muted in this one. Seasonals: "Edge of the water" (berry lemonade): delightfully tart! "Pineapple Passionfruit": by far my favorite! Complex fruit textures blended well with the subtle fizz. I wish the kombucha was a little bit drier, but I'm definitely a weirdo when it comes to that. The level of sweetness on these will hit the sweet spot for most people. Been here a bunch of times, love this place. They've made a bunch of upgrades since they first launched the business. On my most recent visit I just ran in for carry out. My favorite flavor is their Mandy Mint. This time I got one of their limited edition flavors which was amazing. My only complaint is that their cans are too big and since it's not a bottle you cant reseal it, so you have to seal or toss. Service is always great, ambiance is chill. The location is small, but I like that. I love supporting Spenard businesses! read more

If you get a flight of 6, you can try all their kombucha. Each one comes with a smidgen of fruit or mint. The little mason jar glasses are very rustic and homey. And they are all very good. Not nearly as tart as GTs Booch. If you have had the booch from Carr's or Fred Myers and thought, "Wow, that's a really strong vinegar flavor" that's not what you're gonna think here. They also sell stickers. And pizza. And salads. And awesomeness. So they don't sell awesomeness...but it seems awesome! Zip is easy to miss as you drive down Arctic. And parking is weird. Behind the building is a fenced in lot with a sign that says Zip Parking. Spoke to the head brewer, Jesse, for a hot minute and he was very informative and friendly. Really love the Kombucha and the customer service but specifically at the Grab & Go location they are continuously changing the hours to fit what's going on at the taproom location. So even though they state they're open at 11am on Saturday they're often closed for the day and have the taproom open. Would just be nice to have more transparency on the hours of operation. read more

This is, hands-down, the best kombucha I've ever had. I remember when they first opened under the original owners and I was really sad when they shut down Zip unexpectedly. But in the end, it turned out to be a great thing because the current owners have completely revamped the kombuchery and made it something incredible! They have an awesome tasting room, which features their four mainstays (plain, ginger, blueberry, raspberry mint) and a rotating flavor or two. Plus, they feature local-only craft beers and have a couple boxed wines offered. They also make food with Glacier Bowl, and while I don't eat meat, I've had their quesadilla with no cheese, and it's amazing. I don't know what they do -- add ginger, maybe? But it's delightful and I think their guacamole and salsas are homemade, too. This is a perfect place to grab a light lunch or dinner and some kombucha or beer. I've had a LOT of kombuchas and this is definitely the best. I like to mix the blueberry and ginger together -- it's a great combination. The staff are always so nice and friendly. The owner is super cool and really personable. Recently, I was looking for a place to hold a casual party and reached out to Zip on a whim. Turned out it was the BEST thing. They were so accommodating and worked out a great budget for us. The space was very fun and welcoming. I had so many friends come by and tell me they'd never been before but they were really excited to learn about this place and they RAVED about the kombucha. I can't say anything negative about ZIp. It's a real community-oriented kombuchery with great people, the best-tasting kombucha, and fantastic food to boot. read more

Place is small and in a tough spot but the owners clearly put work into the atmosphere, handiwork, and keeping the place super clean. The addition of Glacier Bowl Poke as the menu items is superb for a pairing after a nice hike or Alaskan day. Oh - and growlers to go, sampler set up, and Kombucha by the pint. Yes PLEASE! There is kombucha that pesents purchase at the supermarket. Typically these are bland and overpriced, but they do make one feel good about themselves. Then there are those who think they are better then the people around them. Typically in adorned in plad, suspenders, and thick beard. These type brew their kombucha themselves. Typically creatively flavored like bacon, ocean water, and sadness. These people typically do not associate with the formerly mentioned. Like three horns and long necks they just don't mix. I have been apart of both groups, and I am happy to say that Zip is the best of both worlds. Zip kombucha brings out the best taste, price, and health to everyone who partakes in their nectar of royalty. This is the one place all kombucha drinkers can come together in peace and harmony. I've been in a handful of times the last couples years during my summers in anchorage but this last time really put me over the edge. The staff is always very friendly and helpful but my last time in I was blown away by the kombucha selection and the man behind the bar, James I believe. They love what the community likes about kombucha and to understand what the people want and dont want when it comes down to flavors. This place is good for those are new into kombucha since its sweeter then most traditional kombucha. This is such a cute little spot and everything they have sounds so delicious! I'm slowly making my way down the list. I got a six pack with various flavors and a four pack of grapefruit (you can never go wrong with grapefruit). So far the blueberry raspberry is a favorite. I can't quite tell what another taste I'm getting is but it makes me think of vanilla. Their lime mint is another favorite. It's like the perfect key lime pie! Excellent kombucha joint. Our first time going, the standard bucha they keep on tap are all good, with the several rotating taps were all very good for the few that my wife and I tried while they had them available. Having a food option was a pleasant surprise. The ambiance was nice, a well lit but cozy area with seating/standing for maybe 25-30ish people, although parking was a little confusing the first time I visited.
