Zio's is an Omaha institution, and I remember going there as far back as when I was a kid (and that was over thirty years ago!) Now, are they the cheapest or best pizza in town? No. But the nostalgia reigns supreme with this one, when that greasy pizza hits your taste buds and the memories come flooding back. The ambiance is the exact same as what I remember as a child - an old school pizza place with no frills and no fanciness. My favorite thing to get at Zio's hasn't always been the pizza, I used to be able to take down the calzones like a champ. More recently, though, I am a side salad and slice of pizza girl. I do like that you can get pizza by the slice, which not all pizza places do. Last time I was there, they had the Michelangelo pizza on special, which had Alfredo, chicken, broccoli, and gouda. It was light and delicious. For one slice of pizza though, it will run you upwards of over $5 each, so this has to be a once in a while treat. I would say if the ambiance was a little better than a bar atmosphere, I wouldn't balk at that price. So for the nostalgia, the great pizza (even though it's expensive), I would still recommend Zio's for anyone wanting a quick slice. Zio's used to be one of my top pizza places in Omaha. Maybe it was just this particular one, but I won't be back. There was a husker game on, and the place was not packed, there were ay least 10 empty tables and 4 tables had customers at them. At this Zio's you order at the counter and seat yourself. Every available table was dirty, every last one of them! The order taker looked confused when we asked if someone could clean a table, there was a young man in the back of the place, doing kind of nothing. When we started to order, the order taker, who from what I could see wasn't waiting on anyone else, put up her hand and went and said something to someone else. She comes back and we attempt to order again, and she literally didn't respond at all. Needless to say we left. read more

Very disappointing experience. We ordered a $25 pizza and received a completely different pizza instead. To make matters worse, the pizza we received contained walnuts, a common allergen, making it inedible for members of our family. When we contacted the restaurant, they acknowledged the mistake but only offered a $10 refund on a $25 pizza that we couldn't eat. Mistakes happen, but failing to fully refund or replace an order that was both incorrect and contained an allergen is unacceptable. I've been going to Zios since it was only the tiny shoebox off of 84th & Dodge. I've always loved their lunch special and used to go about once a week. Fresh pizza toppings and love the grated Romano & ranch dressing! Sadly the repeated and often price increases have pretty much made me opt out. I wanna say pre-pandemic the lunch price was in the 7-8$ range ... and now it's almost 14$! For lunch. For a slice of pizza and a side salad. Went into the Center St location on a Sunday afternoon and they must of mopped floor with a dirty mop it stunk really bad in there. I really like the Zios on Wrights St so wanted to try Center and was totally disappointed . I've eaten at this Zio's location several times over the years. The taste and quality of the pizza has always been delicious. The El Taco, cheeseburger, and New York King are my personal favorites. The ravioli and cheese bread are delicious starters as well. The food is always delicious and I've never had a bad meal here. The atmosphere is good too - comfortable, spacious seating with good decor and TVs. Only thing that I've ever noticed was that the service was slower than usual on my last visit, but this was the first time so it may have been a fluke on that particular day. The prices are a bit higher here, but the food quality is absolutely top of the charts, so it's well worth it and you won't be disappointed. read more

For the process - get in line and order your food, take the number they give you and go to any table. They will find you and deliver your food. If you go from 12-1pm during the week, expect to potentially see a line and need to wait a bit longer given how busy they get. read more

Went on Saturday when it was table service instead of ordering at counter. "Server" was not that at all. She was more interested in flirting and talking than taking our order. We ordered a whole pizza and it was bad. It was so soggy that the middle was a mush mess. There was a puddle of wet on the pizza pan. Could not add pic. And seems the ingredients were not as flavorful as they used to be. Had to wave server down to refill sodas. I usually eat here during the week and order just slices so the crust is crisp. Their lunch specials are always a great deal and I appreciate you can get their specialty pieces by the slice. Zio's pizza used to be absolutely delicious between 10-15 years ago. I regularly made an hour trip just to treat myself to an extra large and take the leftovers. I've tried it about once every two years for the last decade just to see if it returned to its former glory...and it has not. Depending on the location, it swings from mediocre to bad. The dodge location seems to have better pizza even though it's not its old standard, which was mouth watering. The things that have changed IMO Crust is thicker (I prefer thin) Crust is missing the crunch on bottom and too dry and spongy inside. Crust has zero or undetectable amounts of salt. A good crust should get saltier the more you chew it. The sauce is not as salty or flavorful, though I appreciate the simplicity, that hasn't changed. Maybe if the other issues changed the sauce would be adequate. Cheese seems very different, it's grainier too. There is no oiliness...the fat that comes out of the cheese is where a lot of the flavor is. Is it low fat cheese??? I hope not. They also only have Pepsi products now. I'm a coke person so that makes a difference for me too. Still good service. Still same condiments on the table and that is appreciated. read more

Inconsistent is the one word that can be used to describe this particular Zio's location. We've been frequenting this location for many years as we don't live too far away. Sometimes it's great and sometimes, just ok - that goes for the both the food and the service. My go-to is always a slice of pizza and a salad along with the cheese bread and ravioli for apps. The cheese bread is delicious and always spot-on. The pizza has good flavor overall, but the crust can be hit or miss. Prior to Covid, table service in the evening was typical, but it's been more order at the counter lately. Either way, plates pile up and it can sometimes be difficult to find someone to clear those, even with table service. We recently went to the location out west, off Center, and everything was so good that it made us see this location in a different light. We decided that maybe we should make the extra drive and go out west more often. read more

Their first location is still their best! Zio's is my favorite pizza in Omaha, hands down. Unfortunately someone must have tipped them off because they know it and charge accordingly. Actually, now that I think of it, when I order pizza from them I order a LOT to stock up subliminally, I guess. So it's always expensive. :) Garlic Cheese bread: the best in town. Thai Pizza: the Thai pizza all other Thai pizza's are compared to and fall short of. The Ingredients: fresh, hand-cut and flavorful. The Ranch dressing: seriously addictive. I remember going to Zio's pizza back in the 90's and it was the place to go! Seems like they've changed their recipe a bit since that time. I remember the sauce being more fresh with pieces of tomato. I'm not saying this pizza was horrible by any means, but with so many choices today, it doesn't really compete that well. It was average pizza. It has a very thick and chewy crust. I would say it's very similar to Marco's pizza. Not gourmet, but fast and filling. I ordered the pizza via the Slice app. The pizza was hot and ready when I went to pick it up. The staff was friendly, so I don't have any major complaints. Just average. This place is complete crap. There was a line of people out the door and they were taking forever to sit people. Then we had to go up to the counter to buy a beer. Took 45 minutes just to get Ravioli and then another 30 for the pizza. Got the check and a medium half cheese and half pepperoni was $26.79 even though a 1 topping pizza was $17.00 on the menu and they wouldn't adjust the price.
