Easily the best option for equipment rental in Zion. It's conveniently located right outside of the park and you can pick gear up the night before so you're set to get an early start the next morning. We'd filled out waivers and paid online so pickup was fast and easy. All of the gear we got was well maintained and worked perfectly for us during our hike of the narrows. We were a little concerned that we'd be too cold in the warm weather package recommended on the website (socks, shoes, and stick), so we checked with the employee at pickup and he encouraged us to stick with that package. He talked to us about current temps and water levels, and told us bibs would be unnecessary. We felt confident with his recommendation and would have been sweltering if we'd gotten the bibs. Returns were simple. We ran into a family the following day who were asking questions about the hike since they were planning to complete the same one- the company they rented from told them they absolutely needed to rent the bibs. This seemed super shady to us and we appreciated the integrity of the employee at Zion Outfitter for not trying to upsell us. read more

This place saved our camping trip! Ok.. maybe that's a bit dramatic. All I know is, we needed a pump for our air bed because we forgot to pack ours. Luckily, Zion Outfitter is located close to our campsite.. South Campground. THE STORE: The walk here from our campsite took less than 10 minutes! Lots of workers and lots of gear-- we were able to get our size of gear around 11 am, which included a size 8, 12, and 14 shoe! I feel like my pants were a little long on me, but the instructions on how to put the dry gear on were thorough and our entire party stayed perfectly dry from the ankle up. I booked their summer gears online for my whole family to hike The Narrows and it went super smooth and easy. They charged my credit card during online booking. But when I arrived at Zion and discovered that I could receive 10% off their rentals because of the specific hotel I was staying, I emailed Zion Outfitter and they replied that they would gladly refund my 10% when I showed them my hotel key card. I ended up forgoing the 10% refunds because I saw the long line to the cash register and didn't want to wait in line in the summer heat. I commend Zion Outfitter for their awesome customer service. They seem to have employed some approachable people who know how to deliver friendly, helpful customer service. Just next to south entrance of zion. Nice place with souvenirs. But their main business is the rental for narrows. And for same reason we visited here after comparing prices with the zion adventures (another rental company). These people are marginally cheaper then zion adventures ($45 vs $55). They have big area for rental and I don't think they would ever sold out since they have huge collections of the rentals. Rentals are high grade products and would definitely suggest them. But i still feel, even $45 is not justice to the price. read more

They were recommended for our Narrows hike rentals as Zion Guru stopped renting out theirs. These guys are super professional and educational. We were advised to just get the pant package when we'd have happily paid for the highest package in our concerns for the cold water and possibility of getting wet (as the water wasn't high enough for that package) and also to push our plans to the next day as we wouldn't be able to do anything in 2 hours as we had initially planned. I thought the prices were decent. The clothing was good for 2 of our group members however for there was a slit in the pants which caused all the water to enter the inner layers and as a result he was freezing. So that didn't go according to plan at all. They allow you to take the rentals the day before and you have the whole day until 7 pm to return them. Overall, really liked these guys, but I can't give them 4/5 stars due to that rip! read more

Towards the middle of our hike my wife was complaining that her feet were cold. Luckily the water was70 degrees. Sure enough once we were done, she had a hole in her sock. This place is run by a bunch of kids and the guy who helped me was completely stoned. It is convenient having the location right by the park entrance, but if I had to do it all over again I would bought my own gear and used a natural stick for free. Highly recommend this company, just outside the entrance to Zion park. We paid $35 a person for shoes, socks, and a walking stick. All were perfect for the narrows. There is 20 min parking so you can run in and run out easily. If you're lucky enough there's day parking and you catch the shuttle into Zion from there. They have a little store which had so many things in case you forgot something. The return was a little confusing - you just put your shoes socks and stick back. No one checks you out, so we were worried about how do we make sure you don't get charged extra for not returning stuff ? Overall good experience was easy and convenient enough. read more

I got most of the info I needed here on Yelp, thank you yelpers :-). But here are some things that could also be helpful. Arrive early, we arrived at 7am and we were the first ones there. We got our hiking gear, made sure everything fit correctly and paid $118 for 4 warm weather gear for the Narrows. Everyone was very informative and yes, we could've parked there for $20 but they said we were there early enough to find parking at the park which was free. The Narrows info are also available there, as far as weather, flash flood warnings, etc. Shuttle stop is right in front of the store also, in case you decide to park there. Definitely planning on coming back next year and renting bikes and going tubing. read more

This rental place is located right before the entrance to Zion National Park. It is a must stop if you plan to hike the Narrows. We knew that was our first hike of the day and so we stood in line and rented water socks and shoes. We had our own hiking sticks so we didn't rent those however if you do not have your own I would highly recommend renting one here before the hike. Trust me, you will want a little extra help walking thru the water! The rental process was fairly simple, you just walk up and get what you need and then proceed to the building to fill out the rental agreements on the available iPads. One will need filled out for each person getting rental equipment. After filling those out you will need to go in and pay for your equipment. I also got a locker to put our other shoes and socks in so we wouldn't have to pack them on our backs the whole day. It was fairly inexpensive for that considering the convenience of it. If you are there in the spring or the fall and you feel like the water may be too cold for your liking you will also want to rent the waterproof pants or bibs. We thought we'd tough it out and went in our shorts. The water was a bit chilly but really not bad. Once you are finished with your equipment the returns are very simple. Just take your equipment up and put it in the bin that is specific to whatever you rented! Highly recommend getting equipment here before hiking! read more

Highly recommend using Zion outfitters for when visiting Zion national Park if you plan to hike the Narrows. The staff is very friendly, helpful, honest, and really a pleasure to work with. They give you lots of information voluntarily and are happy to answer any questions that you might have. They set you up with all of the equipment that you need at a fair price and help you figure out how to use it. It's an easy process for either reserving your equipment or picking it up same I do recommend trying to deal with them in person though because reaching out by email or phone is not the easiest. This was not a problem for us as we were already going to the park regardless of whether or not we hiked the narrows, but if that is your main or only focus I would recommend contacting them ahead of time versus the same day because it can be difficult to reach by phone or email same day . They are, not shifty or trying to gauge you on prices even though they are the closest location to where you would want to go. There's also parking available which is first come first serve so just bear in mind that it can also be hard to get a good parking spot unless you get there early. This place is the closest location to Zion Visitor Entrance to rent gear. Do yourself a favor and rent the hiking boots, neoprene socks, and walking stick. It made ALL the difference when hiking the Narrows. The river was about 5ft+ deep and moving decently fast, and the walking stick helped IMMENSELY. prices were avg for the area & there's free two hour parking in the lot right in front of the store. The employees were all tremendously helpful and efficient even when they were busy with a ton of customers. I recommend getting the gear a day before & hiking as early as 6AM to beat the crowds. I purchased the warm weather package which was fairly priced since it's right next to the entrance of the park. I recommend filling out the waiver form prior to picking up your items so you can quickly get your items with ease. I do wanna say it will take time to find a stick your height since they are all mixed in and some of the bottoms of the sticks are pretty run down but it didn't it effect it's performance when we were in the narrows. Another thing, when we returned the items at the end of the day the employees didn't require us to check out. So I'm not sure how they keep track of who returns their items in time. read more

Been to Zion twice and have used Zion Outfitter both times for our trip to the Narrows and we LOVED it. Zion Outfitter is an excellent place to pick up all the gear that you need for your hike into the Narrows. The gear: * Hiking shoes that are made for water! * Water socks * Walking stick * Dry bib to go over your clothes For the entire package, it was $55/person. You can pick up your items the night before or the morning of your hike. We always opt for the night before, just so we can a head start first thing in the morning. The gear itself is excellent, and I would highly recommend getting ALL of the gear and not just the hiking shoes, socks and walking stick. They've got all sizes, including kids. I'm 5'0 and they were able to accommodate my petite stature. Lastly, the service is splendid. I mean these guys say the same spiel to probably hundreds of people per day and they do with a smile. Very helpful and very knowledgeable about all of the trails in the area too! Oh and one more thing: if you're looking for Zion souvenirs, I would head inside and check out their t-shirts! My fiancé and I decided to rent gear from Zion Outfitter for the Narrows hike, as we were staying nearby at Cable Mountain Lodge. It was easy to reserve the dry pants package (highly recommend if you're hiking in the fall) and we didn't have any issues with the pick up and drop off process. Everything in the package (shoes, socks, stick, and pants) was in good condition and the staff were helpful in making sure we had the right sizes. We camped at Watchman campground which was about a 5-10 minute walk to Zion Outfitters which was super conviennent. One thing to note is that you must always carry your receipt when you cross the bridge to enter Zion Outfitters or they will not let you in! We rented sticks from here for our narrows hike. The sticks are a must! It's about $19 for two sticks for two people. You only need one stick. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They will tell you exactly what you need. Showers- The showers were AMAZING for a campsite. They were very clean and I never had to wait in a line! During the summer, they are open later which makes it really easy to get in and out. It costs $4 for 5 minutes and all you need to do is purchase a token with the amount of time you need. The water got hot really fast and it felt like a normal hotel shower. The room comes with a small bench and a place to hang some of your belongings. I highly recommend using this facility for showers. There is also a laundry room where you can do your laundry if you need to! read more
