The rocks in The Narrows are uneven, slippery, and constantly changing. The boots provided great traction, and the pole was invaluable for both balance and gauging water depth. Could you buy cheaper gear for about the same price? Probably. But it likely wouldn't be as good, and you'd have to carry it around. Sometimes there's a good reason to follow the herd. This was one of those times.

They were really helpful and it cost maybe 25 usd total to rent. Forget wearing your own water shoes, these are quality! It's really rocky at the narrows, so you want some comfy shoes with a thick support for the narrows. I'll never wear my own water shoes again but instead, borrow theirs. They also provide a walking stick with shoe rental. Part of the package. Returning was easy, just returned the following day. Usually in California, they have to check your info... you drivers license, etc but here... they said it's on an honor system and you hope that ppl return the shoes. I'm amazed by this lax policy since this would never work in California. Patrons in California would rob the business blind if they provided this similar service. Rent shoes here and not Zion adventure company. Shoes here are high quality and thick compared to the Zion adventure company. Better customer service here, too. And whoa, ammo prices are great ! I got what I needed and ambled out to my car thinking how nice it is not to be treated like a potential criminal, like I am in CA. In CA to purchase ammo, you need to show ID, prove you have previously purchased a firearm, pay $1 fee, be subject to verification via computer and often, a lengthy wait for approval. This prevents crime? Of course not. Sportsman's Warehouse in St. George is a great place, thanks for a glimpse of rationality. And great ammo prices !

We did the 2.5 hour slot canyon repelling tour. The team working at Roam Adventures could not have been nicer - from the lady who checked us in to our assigned guides. We had Jackson and Coleman as guides and they drove us to the base of where Ladder Canyon dumps you out. Then we hiked up to the top of the canyon. The hike alone was a fun adventure! We had a 5 and a half year old with us and the guides made sure to stop often during the hike so we could all catch our breath. Jackson and Coleman were so patient with all of us and kept an extra eye on our little one. They provided clear instructions and always asked if we had questions. Then, when each person would pass through a difficult area or repel, they would be sure we understood what to do, individually. Such attention to detail! I can't recommend this adventure enough - I hope if you do this, you get Jackson and/or Coleman. Great guides who provide a safe yet adrenaline-packed fun!
