They also have Kimbap fast food at the court right when you walk into the supermarket. Ended up Grabbing lunch from CM chicken at the food court. While waiting for the fried chicken order to be done i went and grabbed some KaLbi to cook during the midday. What flavor chicken we ordered ~ Garlic Soy flavor was really yummy. Tasted similar like the known fried chicken spot that offers the garlic soy flavor. ~ Garlic Spicy Mild tastes like the Garlic Soy but with the Mild spice level. Isn't mild at all. Looks red & spicy but don't let that scare you to order this flavor. It's a new Flavor. Chicken is good, tender, fried to perfection and nice size. It came w a good size pickled daikon given with our chicken. The associate gave us a receipt and mentioned it'll be 15 mins to pick up. So i decided to do some shopping. Associate was really nice friendly & our order was completed as promised. The chicken spot looks clean and welcoming. Along has a delicious aroma of yummy fried chicken. This Zion is much cleaner and well organized than the Zion market in Buena Park I usually go to along w more up to date atmosphere. The aisle was not cramped and neatly displayed. The fruits , veggies looked fresh. The meat on some were a bit darker color, like not fresh red meat color. So have to keep your eyes peeled. Has a good selection of Korean items that you'd find normally at every Korean market. Lots of parking out front. read more

Zion Market has better parking during weekends than H-Mart. It's been a very long time since I came to Zion, but thought I would give it a shot. You can find practically everything you need from a Korean market at Zion. Produce, meat, snacks, kimchi and even a good selection of prepared foods. I enjoyed shopping at Zion Market. It felt a bit disorganized but I still found everything I was looking for. Found some interesting items like giant pepero, Buldok sauce and honey cutter cheese dogs. Yum. It is fun to rotate between Zion and H-Mart. Each have their own special deals, but everything ends up calculating pretty similar. Will likely be back in the future for my Korean food needs. read more

I always come here for their sushi!! It's around $10 or so for a roll which is better than restaurants! Can't beat it for that price! We always come here when we crave some sushi. If you come after around 5pm or later (but don't go too late they will run out) they will discount their sushi and other hot foods making it an even better bargain! read more

I like this store, but there is a serious issue with EBT payments. The card readers often don't work properly. I have to insert my card multiple times, and it takes a long time to go through. One time it didn't work at all, and I had to leave all my groceries and walk out, which was very frustrating. Please fix the EBT machines -- this makes shopping really difficult. read more

I like Zion supermarket. They have a weekly deal on their fruit and vegetables and usually cheaper than regular supermarkets. Summer time is heaven for me as they always have the fruits on sale and I eat a lot of them. Service is good. Some of the cashiers are always friendly, others do not have any reactions at all when you try to talk to them. I think only because of the language barrier. Don't take it too personal. They're just quiet and trying to do their job. Inside the store, they also have a small section with hot foods made daily and other Korean condiments and assorted kimchi. You will also see some kiosks with small business owners selling kitchen and housewares stuff. I really missed the Zion Express on Michelson. I was sad when they shut that store down in December of 2023 or 2024. It was so convenient for me since I always made a quick stop there on my way home to pick up some fruit & vegetables. read more

What better way then to walk around and grab icecream from Zion Market?! It is well priced and you have a lot more varieties to choose from than regular icecream stores. I was visiting here with a high school mentee friend I have. It's a wonderful place to grab groceries and also explore the ingredients and snacks of Korean culture. My family has been grabbing groceries here ever since it has opened - perhaps it's been almost over ten years now of us going! Mainly, it is my dad driving to grab groceries. I'm grateful for the people running the market. You get to grab the items you need, and be blessed. It's well lit all throughout the store. If you need to go to the bathroom, there is one near the very back. It may not be the best condition, but for emergencies it is there. God bless you all. read more

This review is for their marinated Galbi and Bulgogi packaged meats. I usually buy 2 to 5 packs at a time, and on some occasions, I get a bad batch. I've had 3 that were very bland and we just couldn't eat it so we ended up throwing them away. And then there were times where the meats had a funky smell like the last time. I believe it was blood mixed with the marinade. When I cooked the meats on the pan, the smell became more noticeable. This time I took pictures. I thought about talking to the manager but I highly doubt that anything would be done because I tried before. They need to do a better job with this. read more

It was my first time visiting a Zion market. I was excited to see what they had and at one of the aisles was a lady who had samples of noodles. She had handed me some since I asked, and then my mom was coming down the aisle and wanted to try some as well. Then I said my son is also wanting to try some too. She started speaking in her language to us assuming that we understood. Then she said I'm only going to give two. However, clearly there were two more to hand out aside from the one my mom said to just give it to my son. We were confused why she didn't want to give more, and only a limit of two when there were still two more in the container . She said to come back later. We thought this was really bizarre, especially, if you're trying to promote that particular product. We didn't go back because if you're trying to sell a product. Why not promote it rather than not having customers try? When we like some thing we purchase it. Because of this, we decided not to buy it. Customer Service is key. read more

I've been a customer of ZION Supermarket for more than 10 years. Thought I'd seen it all -- until now. Around late October, I bought a pack of baby bananas. They looked fine: green, firm, promising. I figured they'd ripen in a few days. Well, after 8 or 9 days, they're still green, still hard, and still absolutely not edible. Didn't realize I had accidentally purchased ornamental desk plants instead of fruit. I brought them back with the original box, thinking any reasonable store would understand. But nope -- "No receipt, no help." Even though the bananas were clearly defective, the staff showed zero flexibility and even less interest. My family has always gotten groceries here growing up as they have korean snacks and ingredients that are hard to find in american markets. However I want to specifically highlight their hot food today! This past weekend my friends and I had a beach day and we took zion market's ttukbokki and gimbap for lunch. It was really good! I've had h marts ttukboki and gimbap before and I think zion markets are definitely better! The gimbap is much neater with rice thats perfectly cooked and the proper amount of fresh ingredients. The lady making the gimbap also removed the spinach for us in our gimbap without a problem. We also picked up an assortment of Korean ice creams which were perfect for a hot day! read more

The selection of meats, sashimi, and vegetables is super fresh, and the prices are even better than H Mart's offerings -- definitely more variety too! Inside the supermarket, to the left, there's a Paris Baguette bakery, a Korean restaurant, and Two Dak, a fried chicken restaurant where the prices are lower compared to Pelicana nearby. Zion market is one of my favorite market in Irvine. They have all fresh products, great prepared food, reasonably priced and beautiful decorations. Right now, for easter, they make a pieces of art with balloons everywhere in store! Their customer service is great! The shelves are well organized and stocked! Been wanting to try this spot for a while! I think this place is more affordable than H-Mart, honestly! I saw a lot of deals on great items. The staff was super helpful and attentive, I was asked if I had any questions or if I needed help, but in a reassuring way, not a condescending way. Even while looking at the Ramen selection, an older woman gave us her recommendations and seemed excited to share her knowledge with us. I ended up leaving with way more than I intend to, but it was worth it! The parking lot is packed and does have a few electric vehicle charging spots. read more

Shopping at Zion is an unpleasant experience. First, your kids cannot help you grocery shop because in order for them to push the shopping cart, the old man security guard will demand a driver's license or the kids cannot push. Second, you risk food poisoning because Zion accepts returned groceries. If you're asking why you got sick from the frozen chicken soup, it's because the food wasn't kept at the consistent frozen temp. Zion accepts meat returns and they put the returned meats back in the freezer for other shoppers to buy. Third, seafood dept employee (man) extremely unprofessional. He's being investigated by Irvine Police for assaulting a 5 year old boy and for emotional abuse. The store never apologized for the wrongdoing. The quality is hit or miss so you have to decide based on how they look. Occasionally you will find deals like $1 strawberries, $2 organic 1lb prewashed salad, $1 for 2 lbs Persian cucumbers, and more. They also have a good variety of Korean (and other Asian) packaged foods like ramen, seaweed, snacks, drinks, frozen dumplings, fresh kimchi, and marinated meats. I bought a watermelon on Monday afternoon. I opened it at noon on Friday and found it was sticky and bad with water oozing out. I went to the store to return it. The service desk said it couldn't be returned if it was over two days. I said other supermarkets didn't have such a rule. She said each supermarket had different regulations. I have passed by this Zion Market so many times in the last few years, today I finally made it inside to check it out. Its size is of a typical American supermarket, even slightly larger. There are a wide varieties of vegetables and they all look fresh. I didn't see a butcher counter but there are many pre-packaged meat for sale in the meat section. I did pass by several sampler stations but no one offered me any samples to try. I am very impressed by food selections in the deli section. There are pre-cut sushi rolls, sliced beef tendons, cooked whole ham hocks, among others. I was seriously tempted when I saw Cocohodo, Mochicat, and Paris Baguette in the back of the store. I was able to resist only because I just had lunch. Overall, I find Zion a clean, easy place to shop. Prices are on the high side. It is busy but not crowded. I am not sure why there are many trash cans in the produce section although I am sure Zion has a reason for that. read more

There are several areas that could be improved. If the goal is to encourage customers to sample and try the food, a friendly and welcoming approach would make a big difference. I understand that there may be a language barrier, but kindness and courtesy are universal. In one instance, a staff member had fish cake samples available. She avoided eye contact and appeared unwilling to engage with me. Since she was standing there offering fish cake samples, I attempted to pick up a fish cake to hand it to her so she could pour the soup, as I had just seen another customer do. I also did this with the ramen lady and she had no issue giving out the ramen sample to me. However, with the fish cake lady, Instead of guiding me verbally or politely indicating otherwise, she blocked the samples with her hand and asked how much I wanted. I responded that I only wanted one sample; however, she still did not allow me to touch the food or offer it to me. For context, I was genuinely interested in purchasing the fish cake. This interaction felt uncomfortable and unnecessary. If customers are not allowed to touch the food, it would be helpful to have a clear sign in English rather than leaving people to guess. I also noticed that samples were offered to customers who could speak Korean, while I was not offered one. This difference in treatment came across as unfair and discriminatory. All customers should feel equally welcome and respected, regardless of language. Creating a more inclusive and respectful environment would greatly improve the overall experience. read more

Today my mother visited the store, which our family has been shopping at regularly for a long time. After completing her shopping and leaving the store, the employee responsible for handling shopping bags approached the security staff outside. They stopped my mother, asked her to open her bag, and even searched her pockets, suspecting her of stealing something. This behavior is completely unacceptable. My mother was publicly humiliated without any valid reason. Even more disturbing is the fact that after realizing there was nothing wrong, no apology was offered to her. However, this does not make what happened acceptable in any way. We are not strangers to this store ,we are neighbors and loyal customers who have been shopping here consistently. We will no longer be shopping at this store. I will also make sure to share this experience with everyone in our local community. read more

I like to come here and shop for Korean products. They have large selection of hot food items and my favorite is their bulgogi and fried fish. They have a large produce section but you have to really look at the items. Some are moldy or rotten. I recently bought a large box of Korean pears (total of 8 inside) and 2 were bad. I didn't open to check so next time for sure I will! They also have many varieties of rice to choose from and I was able to get the Jasmine rice and it was on sale! They also have marinated beef or chicken to go so you can cook from home. One down side is if you don't tell them how much you want they will fill a whole box for you and it can be quite costly and too much food to eat. So you have to be adamant on how much pounds or ounces of marinate meat you want to purchase. Large parking lot. Easy to fin. Located in Irvine Blvd! read more

I was in the Irvine area and my family and I went here to shop on a Saturday morning in late June. This is one of the better Zion location I've been. It is clean in all the aisles. They had good prices on some of the vegetables. Lots of the workers was stocking on supplies on the shelves. Lots of items to look at and it was hard what to buy. My favorite sections was the ramen and snack aisles. It wasn't too busy so it was nice. They also sell takeout banchan items, gimbap, and Paris baquette inside which had lots of pastries displayed. Best and Worst asian market around! Come here for the cheap prices, the best ones in the area, as long as you don't mind the moldy fruits. Come here for the steals, if you don't mind the rotten veggies. Come here for the aisle items if your stomach can't handle the trashed produce. Come here if you have time to look through boxes and boxes of produce just to find that one fruit/veggie that isn't a complete p.o.s. I have frequented this Zion several times with my friends who are Asian or Caucasian (I'm Hispanic but pass for Caucasian) and I have always had a good experience until now. My mother (who looks Hispanic) and I were excited to come and try the fried chicken restaurant inside! We grabbed a couple items and were looking at the cookie display when the security guard came up and started demanding, " PAY OR NO PAY?!" We said "we're just looking, we're still shopping." Then he started yelling,"PAY OR NO PAY?!PAY OR NO PAY?!" over and over. There were Asian and Caucasian customers in the same area but he beelined for us. Feeling singled out, as this security guard yelled at us, we left our items on a closed conveyor belt and asked to speak to the store manager. After having the security guard apologize (at my mother's request) the store manager only made excuses for the security's behavior. He said it was because they had some customers try to run out with items....ok and? We weren't looking around to run out the door, we weren't inching to the exit-we were waiting for our food order and SHOPPING! Maybe you should place your displays elsewhere if you're so scared of theft. ALSO, if you're worried about stealing, train your security how to look for and identify shoplifters of ALL NATIONALITIES, not just Hispanics. While racially profiling us, he probably missed someone running out the door with product. Pft! We are NEVER coming back to this Zion. read more

Lots of fresh produce and korean products. Good sales plenty of selections and there's also a small foodcourt for food to go. There's also Paris Baguette inside so you can get some pastries, donuts, coffee and bread. The store inside needs a bit of remodeling especially the tiles but overall it's a good decent grocery. I was very disappointed in the customer service at the Irvine location today. I had to return some jujubes that had little worms in the bag. This was purchased last Monday so I had to make a special trip back to return the item. I wanted to let the store know in case they should check the other bags. The store manager told me that it was past the seven day period for returns. It was not. I didn't wanna make a special trip just to do the return on the weekend when it was busy. Considering I spent $50 today, which is half the amount I usually spend because I was just there recently, I felt they should've been nicer and apologetic for the inconvenience. Instead the store manager told me that next time I should do the return first all the same to me, but I did look at the sign at the front of the store prior to going in to make sure. That that's not how I understood it from the sign. She told me never! Wow, since this is my first time returning and item considering I spend $100 each month admittedly, I am not familiar with this but the delivery could be better. I do this at places like Ralph's and they tell me to take my item with me as long as I have the receipt. I realize it varies from store to store. Sometimes I prefer to leave the item on the counter and wait for them to be ready for the transaction. My point really is you have a bad item, you should apologize that there were maggots in my food, that I had make a special trip to return the item. It seems good customer service would have been to acknowledge the inconvenience and perhaps even thanked me for bringing it to your attention so that other customers don't have to experience the same thing. Perhaps it's time to be more loyal to H Mart. read more

I want to give this place five stars, but there have been some inconsistency in their produce section that I can't overlook. Unless you're telling me I've got this uncanny skill of picking bad apples every time, someone else should pick my fruits. From apples to mangoes and sometimes pears, I've accepted this unfortunate secret power of mine, but luckily, there are other items that bring me joy when I come here. I shop here probably 1-2x a month to fill up on grocery, snacks and their prepared foods. Some of my most interesting finds appear when I spend a bit more time in the aisles like Milk Tea Choco Pie, Corn Ice Cream, frozen marinated crab, soup packets and a wide variety of kombu (or dried seaweed). I love trying new things, so if it sparks a bit of curiosity, I am down to give it a try. It's also a one-stop shop for an easy and quick lunch when the cravings hit for gimbap, tteokbokki, soondae and soups. The deli area has a pretty solid selection of side dishes and hot food items! I pick up the usual - seaweed salad, bean sprouts, spinach, kimchi, pickled radishes and pancake. And the seafood and meat variety is really great too. I bought their salmon sashimi here recently to make poke at home and it was delicious. The sliced frozen beef and pork are also things I typically keep on hand for stir fry dishes or shabu at home. The best is when their marinated short ribs are on sale for $8.99 lbs. (give me 4lbs)! Whatever you come here for, there's always something to bring home. Last Saturday, I went shopping for groceries at Zion Supermarket in Irvine with my friends. Because we shared a shopping cart and there were too many things in the cart, we found a lot of discarded cardboard boxes lying on the aisle, so we took a cardboard box to put things in, just like we always do at Costco. When we went to cashier to check out, the checkout clerk asked us rudely, where can I get the carton? And we were told very sternly that guests could not use cardboard boxes. We replied that the cardboard boxes were piled up there, and there was no sign saying that they could not be taken. We ask for the manager to come out. She said she was the manager. I asked her name and she said her name was Sara. Such a bad attitude is really unacceptable. When the amigo who was helping put things in cartons, she insisted on taking them out, so we had to spend money to buy plastic bags to put things in.
