Raw chicken

The food here was meh. Service wasnt that good. They served my chicken still raw. How do you serve food like this?

Old fashioned ( really good)

So upset. I really wanted to give them 6 stars but it just wasn't. The people I made reservations with were super nice. The hostess was awesome as well. The waiter was just not happy. He wasn't very attentive ( not to say he wasn't busy or lazy) just somewhat miserable. There was a lot of workers in there but they diddnt make their way to our table .. granted we had 16 ppl on Xmas eve . The apps came out good time. They were really outstanding. It gave a false promise inf the dinner to come. Baked clams, buffalo mozz and clams were really special. Unfortunatley the dinner was just not good. Lamb and filet mingon had no flavor, and the lobster ravioli just was not good ( diddnt even know there was lobster involved ). Food all around was just meh !! So upset because I had eaten there before and the food was good. All around just not worth it. It was 150 a person although we had a lot of drinks .. I should mention they brought out a lot of freebies like macaroni for the kids and pizza for the kids .

Food in the garbage. We threw all of it out, but just so you know how bad it actually was.

We just ordered over $200 worth of food from Zio Toto in Staten Island. Our family has been going to this restaurant for a while, but it's been some time since the last time we went. It's almost like they have new owners, because we've never had such a negative experience. Due to covid we ordered food to go. We drove a half hour to pick it up & ordered two different types of veal, angel hair with crab, sea bass, risotto with truffle, spaghetti carbonara, and pizza. The first issue to note is that the prices online do not reflect what they actually charge you. What the restaurant charges is anywhere from $3-$5 more per plate. If the food tasted good, I guess this wouldn't have been such an issue. The portions are small-- another issue for the pricing. The angel hair with crab had NO CRAB. NONE. We kept searching for it to no avail. The veal had no taste, over three strands of spinach. The risotto didn't even have truffle in it-- not sure why they call it truffle? The sea bass was clearly frozen and for $38, it was maybe 3oz. Pathetic! The spedini veal vitello was supposed to come with mashed potatoes and they didn't even put that in the container. We called the restaurant to explain, as none of us were able to actually eat the food since it was far from edible. There was no manager and the manager won't be back until Wednesday..(It's Sunday, BTW). The service is unacceptable, and even worse, the food tasted old and rancid. We ended up throwing it all in the garbage. Do yourself a favor and skip this one.

Bravo Zio Tio Staten Island!! Came here last weekend with my fiancé. What a wonderful dining experience. We were greeted promptly upon arrival. Our waiter for the evening was very attentive to our needs. Our martinis were as "dirty" as requested! Our meals were exquisite! We ordered to start the grilled octopus and calamari, which was perfectly tender and seasoned to perfection. Then for the entree the pan seared lamb chops in a Barolo wine sauce / branzino stuffed with crabmeat in a lemon white wine sauce. Both dishes were delicious and unique in their own way. For dessert we shared a pizza Nutella that's their signature dessert and each bite melted in our mouth. Great food and excellent service with a beautiful dining room look forward to returning here. Zio Toto is must go to Italian restaurant, highly recommended!

Location is closed and now turned into a steakhouse. Parking is horrendous and mandatory valet.

After waiting ten minutes, we found a young waitress in the back and were told to seat ourselves. When another couple arrived, she became the sole server for both tables. The service was poor throughout. She didn't offer menu suggestions, simply asking if we were ready to order. When we requested drinks, she brought the wrong items like Diet Pepsi instead of Diet Coke, and seltzer water instead of Sprite. She then disappeared for an extended period, spending most of her time at the host stand rather than checking on tables. We ate without drinks. We wanted to ask for more bread she was no where to be found. The neighboring couple had similar issues, mentioning she forgot their coffee order entirely. While we sympathized that she may have been new or inexperienced, the lack of attentiveness and basic service fundamentals made for an uncomfortable dining experience that didn't match the restaurant's reputation. The ambiance seemed very old school and family friendly. There were a ton of tables but it was also very cold like the heater at the restaurant wasn't working. The food took a long time, the food was great but honestly we didn't ask for anything big. It was just spaghetti and chicken parm.

I thought the sauce was quite nice, with a good balance of sweet to acidic. The dough was thinner than I expected, so I experienced significant flop when I pulled out a slice to eat. If you prefer your pizza to be able to hold its shape when folded, I would suggest allowing the pizza to cool down a little before eating. The MOR pie was surprisingly good-- the onions added some sweetness and crunch while the ricotta helped keep the pizza from becoming too heavy. The classic plain pie is also excellent, with a good amount of cheese and a well-baked undercarriage. Overall, an excellent pizza-- the crowds did not lie. I would love to return to try their garbage or a salute pie, along with a cup of Ralph's Italian ice from across the street (I'm told this is the elite combo). PS- Pies only, no slices. Slight discount with cash, and there is a small parking lot in the back.

It has a casual vibe, but still feels like a proper restaurant, which makes it perfect for anything from a quick bite to a relaxed sit down meal. It's a small spot, so I'd definitely recommend making a reservation if you plan to dine in. I've tried their signature coal oven pizza, chicken parmigiana, penne vodka, and the flatbread. Everything was absolutely delicious. You can also order drinks, not just soda or juice, which adds to the overall experience. Street parking can be a challenge, but it's worth it. I was so caught up with enjoying the food that I barely took any photos, and that just says it all. I'll definitely be back and add more pictures next time.

There's of course falafel to the east, garantita in Algeria, and panisse in France (or socca in a similar vein). Sicilian panelle is Italy's counterpart, and the version at Ungaro is an excellent example of it. The panelle comes served with a healthy serving of ricotta on a seeded bun. It has a relatively mild, filling flavor that lets you fully enjoy the chickpea fritters themselves. They also have a potato croquette sandwich on the menu - a distant cousin of the Vada pav I plan to try next time. The half vodka pizza we tried was good, with high-quality mozzarella and a decadent sauce. The pie itself had a nice chewiness to it - if I had any suggestions, perhaps next time they could go a bit easier on the quantity of the sauce.

Schlepping all the way out to Staten Island for this pizza was a risk I decided to take, and it paid off. The restaurant is close by the Staten Island Railway, and inside feels like a true Italian pizzeria, but not like one you would see in Brooklyn. This one is more high quality, and it shows in their pizza. The pizza is phenomenal. Outstanding. I got two pies, one red and one white, for contrast and both are worthy of terrific merits. El Naso, the red pie, is beautiful in color and taste. The porky sausage and the hot soppresata add a nice flavor to the pie, the crispy crust, it was all lining up nicely to be a great pie. I am happy I went with my gut and got this. For my white pie suggestion, I asked my server, Leslie (more on her in a moment), what to get. She suggested El Pizzaiolo. Like the red pie, it tastes gorgeous thanks to the silky and luxurious truffle oil. The crimini mushrooms and Italian sausage accentuate it beautifully and the Parmesan reggiano cheese provides a sharp, salty note to the pie. It rounds the whole thing out nicely. Leslie is one of the reasons I enjoyed my experience. At first I thought she was just a tease with her giggly and youthful demeanor, but after talking to her I found something more deeper and meaningful. There is a depth of intelligence that she has but a naïveté that needs to be cracked before her. The fact that tips mean nothing to her speak volumes about who she is. I really wanted to give her something significant to take home with her, but fun conversation and the fact she is mentioned here will be enough for now for this attractive, lissome soul. Since both pies filled me up nicely, I had to pass on dessert. But I promised that down the line I will be back because the pizza is just so darn good. Leslie, thank you for the lovely experience and I hope someone sees my compliment and gives you a little extra in your next paycheck. You deserve it. Like this pizzeria well deserving of a five star review.
