    Bacon potato burrito
    Stan W.

It has been awhile since I've been in this particular shopping center so I was surprised to see Zinque take over this large space. A small group of us came for bunch during a work day and overall we had a good experience. Zinque seems to be a mix of a retail store with a coffee shop, dining, with a casual customer service approach. After reviewing the menu, we ordered our food and drinks from the front kiosk. Around the corner to wait for our drinks. From there we were able to pick our seats from the vast dining area. The table shared a the olive oil cake and a berry cake/bread (I think it was a bread) where the olive oil cake was the clear favorite. For my main I went with the bacon and potato burrito. Although the burrito was on the smaller side, the taste and flavors were tasty. I wish there as some sort of side included with the burrito though. I think Zinque is here to stay in Malibu and I'd be open to coming back. The dinner menu looks enticing!

Walked in and chose bar. I ordered a Tomate Fraise. It was a rich Strawberry flavor. Could probably have 3 and call it a day. Bar tender is great at explaining mixes. Good vibes

Ice cream sundae finishes off dinner nicely!

It's a solid restaurant in Malibu from food selection, drinks, service and ambiance. Zinque covers it all nicely in a time where it's difficult to check the boxes for all of these attributes of a restaurant. Keep doing what you're doing, Zinque! It's working! Parking lot available.

Happy Hour! On Monday through Friday you can pop in for some happy hour! Happy hour is 3-6pm at the bar and high tables. Happy hour consist of 12 dollar craft cocktail, discounted wine and a tapa special. Tapa specials includes you pick three for 13 dollars. We chose to get pork belly taco, pate and prosciutto flatbread. Gosh that's a lot of pork! As always our cocktails were amazing! Husband likes the beers on tap, as some of the tap beers can only be found in bottles at other places! The appetizers were good with some modifications: we found the pate tapa bread to be super hard but the staff quickly replaced the bread without any problems! Always great service at the bar!

PSA don't enter through the doors on the right. They are locked, lol.

On my FIRST visit to this establishment, in hopes to use the $20 off $60 order coupon via InKind app, I quickly changed my mind! Left immediately lol. We were trying to find the correct entrance to the restaurant, as there are multiple doors in the front (see photo). Instead of going inside to view the menu on our phones , we chose to sit outside to view. We were then approached by Alex, who seemed to be the hostess or front of house staff. She came outside to bring us menus, but we let her know that we were trying to utilize the deal/coupon. It became very clear to me that she was uninformed about the deal. Which is fine. There was apparent attitude when she realized its applicable for pickup order only. She proceeded to tell us we can't sit outside for this. Then she followed up with, "Or I guess you could, but you'd be eating out of to-go boxes and stuff." Which we were fine with. I let her know we're simply sitting outside of the restaurant trying to figure out their menu and what we should order. She responded back with attitude saying "ok I just came over to give you guys menus" with a dead straight look on her face. She then moved over to help the table adjacent to us. It was extremely unwelcoming and unfriendly. No matter the words that came out of her mouth.. it was the tone and body language. After that, we decided not to support the business and spend our money or time there. :)

So delicious!! My friends and I came here on a Saturday morning to celebrate a birthday. We loved it! Cute and trendy ambiance. Servers were friendly and helpful. I got the toast with the tuna tartare, and we shared the toast with the smoked salmon. So delicious. We all got the Baklava latte.. this is a MUST! So good. Would highly recommend!

I love this spot for working and grabbing coffee. I'm not a huge fan of the food overall, but the breakfast is solid and the gluten-free pasta is great (except for one time when there was a bit of metal in it, which I feel is worth mentioning). The atmosphere, locals, and staff are all wonderful friendly, helpful, and peaceful. I come here almost every morning, and it's the perfect place to work on my laptop. It's quiet, has plenty of outlets, and the back area has a beautiful, relaxed vibe that makes it easy to focus.

Eggs and gluten free toast + fries + eggs and ratatouille with ciabatta added
    Brooke W.

I had the loveliest time here for brunch. The ambiance is amazing. The fries are fantastic, and the dipping sauce for them is so good. The tiramisu coffee was also fantastic. I ordered the eggs and ratatouille, which I honestly wouldn't totally recommend on its own, but I added a ciabatta for $2, which made it AMAZING. The bread was truly fantastic -- so fresh and comforting. The ratatouille was really just chopped and sautéed eggplant and veggies, not ratatouille, but with that in mind, I still thoroughly enjoyed it. There were people brunching with friends and sitting alone working on their laptops. I'd recommend either

It's almost like a farm setting and sorta lit up like Christmas it's very beautiful with all the lights. We stopped to grab a coffee at the coffee shop there and it was honestly not that great, they were very sweet the girl working there I do remember that. But their coffee was not that great. The dinner we had was nice but it was outside and it was freezing. So we were all shivering and by the time our food came out everything was pretty cold. The entire hotel was not busy there wasn't that many people there. Kind of a shame since you think it would be since it is beautiful there. The rooms were interesting and across from each other, however I loved the little fire pit they had in the middle of the outside area going back and forth to the rooms. The kids had a blast though they had fun running back and forth and they do leave a lot of yummy snacks around which was really nice. The customer service was not bad not the best but not bad! Everyone was nice but things took extra long when it shouldn't when no one was really there. I hope next time we visit this hotel it will be busier. We had the Tuxedo and Blue Hill bay for starters and they were right on point. The steak tartare was excellent. My cocktail, the salty surfer, was not the most exciting, lacked depth, would not order again. My entree was the halibut with the chimichurri and paprika sauces. Not sure if the fish was bland and completely lacking flavor because the sauces were on the side, in which case that would be my fault, but it was meh. My Husbands sea bream was far more flavorful and a better choice. One of our party had the burger and was very happy, and another, the lobster roll. The Kale is a very strong smoke flavor with an acid topnote, very different, but not sure in a good way. Likewise, the fries were just overly salted plate decor. Dessert of pote de creme was delish, as was the key lime tort. I did not care for the chocolate mousse cake, it was not overly sweet (good), but also not a very developed chocolate flavor as it was overpowered by the fruit rather than complimented by it. The ambience is festive, which is to say loud. It is located in one of our new strip malls and had it been warmer, the patio would have been the better choice for conversation. The staff is friendly, attentive and at no point did we feel rushed. Our waiter really knew his menu and was excited about the food. All dishes are carefully crafted with its colorful details, and its simple but bold flavors prepared for you through an open kitchen. This place gets busy the minute they open their doors so make reservations prior. 1. Korean Aguachile: fresh tilefish sashimi with finely sliced cucumber and white floral decor simmered in ice cold kimchee broth they pour at the table. Soooo good. Must order. 2. Soy Marinade Blue Prawn: My favorite dish of the night. Huge raw blue prawns (head attached) marinaded with soy sauce. Served with barley rice topped with Ssam jang (type of bean paste sauce), and seaweed paper. You wrap all ingredients in the seaweed paper to make a hand roll. Soooooo delicious. Can't walk out without trying this. 3. Beef short ribs: good but nothing unique in its flavoring . Beef steak(medium rare and super tender) that's lightly marinaded/glazed (so not overly sweet) with kbbq/short rib sauce. This is one of their fan favorites so I suggest you try it.. 4. Chilled Acorn Noodles: chewy cOLD noodles made with acorn (just like the acorn jelly side dish we eat). The noodles are seasoned with Korean Cho-go-chu-jang (Gochujang paste), crispy cucumber slices, loads of dried seaweed flakes, and perilla oil. And you just mix them all together. Sooo good and paired well with the short ribs. Incredible. 5. Bluefin tuna and trout Bibimbop: like a poke bowl but so much better. Rice at the bottom with loads of lettuce strips, bluefin tuna sashimi, radish slices, and cavier. Seasoned with Korean Cho-go-chu jang (Gochujang paste with a twist of vinegar). Very good as well. For drinks we tried the shikhye slush (shikhye is a Korean sweet rice drink dessert). They used a slushy shikhye base with warm cinnamon and ginger spices and pisco for a kick. Also tried the Sujinggwa manhattan which is sujunggwa (traditional Korean cinnamon ginger dessert tea served cold) and a single malt. This was fabulous. Overall fantastic experience. Fantastic food, cool ambiance's. And great service. Highly highly recommend this place!

Tables looked available around 5pm though so walk-ins could be possible. Ambiance: Outside was nice and inside looked dimly lit and romantic. We were seated promptly and service was good. Food: Rice slushy had a strangely strong cinnamon-like taste to it that traditional rice punch doesn't have which was so overpowering, it made it difficult to go back for more sips. Oysters - good though small, enjoyed the kelp mignonette Korean Aguachile - Delicate tilefish completely overwhelmed by cold kimchi broth with actual icy slush in it and small amounts of fish Steak Tartare - The hot stone bowl seemed to defeat the purpose of a tartare, as it cooked the steak once mixed. The perilla leaves were also cut in large strips relative to the beef. Chilled Acorn Noodle - The perilla oil was nonexistent in flavor though the dish didn't need it and was good without. Overall, portions were small for the price and dishes weren't well-executed so despite being excited for more Korean options in West LA, I'd much rather make the drive to Koreatown for better portions, prices, and flavors.

Even though we kept it simple and only ordered the nachos, they were very good and packed with flavor. The nachos were $15, and we added beef for $6, bringing the food total to $21. They were topped with carne asada, beans, a small side of guacamole, and a generous amount of finely chopped jalapeño, which gave the whole dish a really nice kick. The setting is also a big plus. The restaurant sits in a beautiful spot in Malibu with nice views of the surrounding hills, which makes it a great place to relax and enjoy a casual meal. Service is the only reason this doesn't quite make it to five stars. Everyone we interacted with was very friendly, but the staff just wasn't attentive enough. Our table went quite a while without water, and when I ordered a fountain soda ($4) it took long enough that I eventually had to flag down another server walking by to ask for it. All in all, the food was very good and the location is excellent. Our total for the nachos with beef and a soda came to $27.49 with tax, which is about what you'd expect in Malibu. Despite the minor service issues, I'd definitely come back and try more from the menu next time.
