Leu was fantastic! He really took care of us and keeping us on track due to the kitchen closing really soon. He made sure that we were all feeling comfortable. I enjoyed the squash blossoms and the cheese was delicious with it. As well the ciabatta and olive oil YUM! I was so stuffed that I can only eat some of it but they cooked it as I requested. Zarina is charming and remembers orders really well. She gave me recommendations

How great it is to dine at a restaurant inside one of the Historic Hotels of America. Beautiful bar & tastefully decorated dining area in a centrally located hotel in downtown Berkeley. The breakfast & dinner are both delicious. Love the low abv & non alcoholic drink options. The ice cream & bread pudding were so delicious. Overall food was delicious but some things to note: The Brussel sprouts were a tad over charred. The burger price is the same even without the meat patty, would have loved a veggie patty option. There were too few chocolate chips in the chocolate chip pancakes. Guests were mostly older solo travelers, college students meeting up with their parents, a young group of friends & a date. Could not find a current bar, restaurant or room service menu online

The ambiance and breakfast is the best! Very welcoming and comfortable seating. We had 3 breakfasts while staying at the hotel and a dinner. For breakfasts, we had the oatmeal, latte's, bacon, waffles, berry fruit cup (super fresh) and croissant. No complaints with the breakfast - all soo good! Dinner - we had the strip steak and the burger. Burger was overcooked and tasted charred. We had the bread pudding for dessert and that made up for the overcooked burger taste. Service was pretty slow for dinner.

This is strictly a brunch review for Zino because I haven't had dinner here for a while. For starters, they have a rather ample brunch menu. Lots of items from sweet to savory for breakfast and plenty of lunch items as well. There are egg options galore, soups, salads, wraps, a burger and pizzettas, but we went for the sweet breakfast delights. My mom had the pancakes with fresh berries, which she enjoyed. I had the French toast, also with fresh berries, plus citrus butter, and it was absolutely excellent. Delicious maple syrup. The coffee is pretty good too. Lots of seating. Hotel restaurant vibes and that's OK. Because the long oval bar is spacious enough to allow people to do their own thing. So you could chat or watch a football game on the big screens if you'd like. There are sections of the dining room that are far enough away from the TVs that you wouldn't notice them. There's great light offered by the window seating by day. The street outside is pretty quiet by Knight.

Let's just say that the savory deliciousness of the duck confit gnocchi combined with our bartender Marlon's excellent welcoming vibes made for a wonderful date for me and my husband. We will definitely return!

Kyle recommended the warm croissant bread pudding, and it was one of the best desserts I've had in a long time. Highly recommend if you have an acquired taste for desserts like this.

We visited Zino for a colleagues birthday dinner and couldn't help but order almost every single thing on the menu! The restaurant is gorgeous, very spacious and our waiter Kyle was friendly, and super attentive. Would definitely recommend!!

Best hotel bar I've ever been in. Marlon took good care of me and mine. Zino is a wonderful gem. The fries are secretly good. Don't ruin a good thing by telling everyone you know to come up here.

Warm Croissant Bread Pudding

My wife and I enjoyed our dinner at Zino. The ambiance was nice with live music playing. The service from Zarina and Leu was very attentive, the food came out hot, and everything was delicious. The bread pudding was our favorite item! We look forward to coming back in the future.

Pappa al Pomodoro**

The food was amazing! I had the tomato soup and it was very rich and creamy. My friend had the Lamb and said it was very tender!! Good service, beautiful and clean.

The Spicy Calabrian Wings

The wings were amazing, & Marlon was amazing as well. Offered the greatest option & makes wonderful drinks! Highly recommend coming here when he's here, makes you feel very welcomed !!

I had amazing time here! My server Zarina provided excellent service and was super kind. I would highly recommend coming here for dinner and getting the bread pudding for dessert. The environment is lovely too.

Are there gluten free options? Are they marked on the menu? Thank you!

Yes, there are, but you need to ask about them. Our waiter was quite informative.

Looking for an in-between spot (a sip and bite before dinner), we cozied up to the bar here for a quick cocktail and bar food snack. Both the cocktails and snacks came timely, and we enjoyed conversation and community chatting with other locals/tourists visiting Berkeley for a short time. The vibes are right in Tipsea and I dig the nautical ambiance/theme/play on words. Worthy of a stop through; street parking on Shattuck/paid garages nearby, but ride-share sometimes easiest for these locations. NA options available and full menu including burgers, a fried chicken sando, seafood options, other bar snacks including Navi's and loaded tots, and dessert.

As the fun silly drink lover I am, I had to try the green curry martini the moment I saw it on the menu. And I made the right choice! Somehow, it really reminded me a lot of green curry, but not in an off putting way. It was tart and refreshing, with a hint of spice (though those with lower spice tolerance might have a tougher time with this drink), and pretty herbaceous. Bartenders were very nice and got the drinks out quickly (came in at 6:30 on a Thursday), but it didn't look rushed. SUPER cozy vibes, perfect for either a catchup with friends, or even a date. At the time we came in, there was ample seating. One thing I regret? Not trying their famous hot dogs and espresso martini slushie. Looks like I'll have to come back soon.

Tupper and Reed still stands tall above everyone else. I stopped in on a Saturday evening, feeling pretty mellow. After I arrived, a band started up that reminded me of the O Brother Where Art Thou soundtrack. You can't beat the ambiance, since this was an old music store, and the please is littered with antique record players and instruments. There are some negative reviews here about rude, more accurately, unresponsive bartenders, and I don't think they get what this place is all about. If you want a chatty, friendly bartender, go to an Irish pub. This place is all about creating unique concoctions in volume. Having said that, I'll tell you a story. In March 2019, I was with a chatty bartender here, since it was a quiet night. I was looking at the vast array of bottles, and noticed something that said "Buffalo Trace" but looked different from their usual bottle. I asked her what it was, and she didn't know. It had about three fingers left at the bottom, so she looked at me mischievously and said, "wanna finish it with me?" So we did. Turns out, that 375 ml bottle was worth about $300. It was one of their experimental batches, made with oats in 2002. I found a bottle online in England and got it shipped here. Best whiskey I've ever had.
