Loved this place! We were looking for good coffee mid-afternoon on a Friday and Zngerman's did not disappoint. Plenty of drink options; they normally have a lot of pastries but were on the low side when we got there. Plenty of options for seating, some even near outlets to recharge your computer. Upstairs seating and bathroom for guests. The staff person taking orders had more energy than I've seen in a long time! Check this place out!

(G)o or no go - Go! Located right next to Zingerman's Deli, the cafe is the perfect dessert spot after your belly bursting reuben. (W)ow factor - like all Zingerman's locations, the decor is so original and personalized. Feels like a family business with great quirky art (A)mbiance - families that love Michigan football (M)enu - I've had the carrot cake here before, it's SO moist, crumbly, and nutty. Def worth an order, but be prepared to take it home. The slices are HUGE. This time, I got the vanilla cold brew - was smooth, sweet, less acidic than my normal ice Americano - and served with the most friendly service, classssic Zingermans.

Zingerman's Next Door is a little coffee shop/dessert place in case you didn't get enough food at the deli next door. I've been in a few times in the past year or so for different things - a latte, some gelato, etc. They also sell chocolate, tea, merch, and more. They specialize in fancy hot chocolates, which I'd love to try sometime. The employees are all pretty friendly and helpful. We got some gelato recently which was tasty, but I prefer Blank Slate Creamery. Parking in this whole area is a little limited so you may have to walk a bit. Stop in if you want a sweet treat!

I mean who can master literally everything? Zingerman's!!! We tried the Zingerman's house hot cocoa & the dirty sheed latte. Both were amazing, and we loved the dirty sheed so much we came back for a second round - got them iced - after our deli and bakery experience! Both the hot & iced dirty sheed were excellent, if I hadn't already had a lot of coffee would have went with the double dirty sheed! Service was friendly and quick. The housemade syrup is so unique & good, strong & balanced espresso, appropriate amount of milk so it stays balanced in flavor! Love all the gift/merch items too! So many chocolate bars available!! The aesthetic and vibe is unmatched! Indoor & outdoor seating, more seating upstairs & restrooms upstairs!

    Busy day!

Zingerman's is a staple treat when we come to Ann Arbor! The Dirty Sheed is probably the best coffee in the whole dang world. They offer several speciality cocoa drinks in the winter, affagatos with multiple gelato choices, iced teas and European candies galore (check out their original Swedish fish!). We'll pick up a bag of their fresh whole coffee every now and then too. Plenty of seating indoors or out. The style is very cozy, good for getting some work done or a date for two. Even on busy game days the service is top tier and as quick as they can manage, you can tell the employees like working here. Parking can be a challenge to find, but well worth it once you've got a coffee in hand!

A coffee and pastry shop that isn't very accommodating. We came here to try this place while in town and proximity to the farmers market. You're in a line and expected to know what to order despite the menu and pastry case being on the other side. Their small drinks come with two shots of espresso and large come with 4 shots. Unless you want to be next to a bathroom all day, you have to get a small iced drink which is in a tiny hot coffee cup where the ice takes most of the room. Very odd and would never recommend for coffee. Cinnamon roll tastes like the old McDonalds cinnamon roll which I enjoyed for nostalgia. I got the last lemon cloud which I saved for later. Best thing I had.

Super cute coffee shop right next to Zingerman's deli. It's a great place to stop by for a coffee or hot chocolate while waiting for your sandwich to be ready. My favorite part had to be the hot chocolate menu, it had so many options! I got one of the spiced hot chocolates and it was delicious, will definitely be back here on my next trip to Ann Arbour.

Zingerman's Next Door shop has a bit of an eclectic feel to it serving a rather diverse selection of Coffee based drinks and a wide assortment of desserts. Starting with their coffee products, they serve all the coffee based drinks one expects to see at a high end Barista shop using their excellent signature Coffee. These drinks are well made and very tasty with prices in line at what you would expect to see at other higher end Barista shops. Relative to the dessert side of this business, they have broad selection of in house made pastries, bagels, scones, muffins, danishes, pies, cakes, specialty chocolates sold by the piece and a wide range of of boutique chocolate bars to choose from. The list of products is actually much larger than this where there are plenty of yummy options to choose from to soothe almost any sweet tooth. Aside from the desserts and coffee drinks, This shop also offers a nice selection of specialty boxed teas, Zingermans bean coffee by the bag, and some simple pre made baguette sandwiches that use Zingermans in house bread. The thing I like most about this business is it offers a quick alternative to get a quick bite to eat when you are on the run and don't have time to wait for one of Zingerman;s famous Deli sandwiches next door which I actually did on this day on my way over to the UM Hospital. Relative to the business it self, it has a very informal casual feel to it, with plenty of inside tables where it is clearly a favorite hang out spot for students and residents alike to meet up for a drink and dessert while enjoying a pleasant conversation with your friends or getting some studying in for school. Overall a great business to checkout and definately one of the city landmarks that Ann Arbor is known for.

I had a long wait for my sandwich at Zingerman's Deli so I went next door to this lovely cafe and chocolate shop. I love chocolate so this was the right place for me! They have a wonderful hot chocolate menu. I thoroughly enjoyed my Chocolate Moderne Kama Sutra, which has coconut, cardamom and clove in it. So delicious! I also tried the Spanish drinking chocolate, which is so thick it requires a spoon! Very rich and decadent. I loved everything here! Plenty of seating. They have a few spacious rooms upstairs as well as downstairs to choose from. Nearby metered street parking available. Very helpful and friendly service.

Love the vibes here. They have variety of baked goods, coffee, gelato, chocolates and more. I got a caramel iced latte which was so delicious and creamy. The location is great as it's next door to their sandwich shop and right by the farmer's market.

This is next door to the deli. On a Saturday in summer session this was a fun place to be. Great desserts - Boston Cream Pie was my choice and it was yummy. My partner had a coffee and a chocolate torte I think and my brother chose cherry pie. All were really good. It was walk up service so that wasn't anything special. The atmosphere was pretty much casual.

Nice Eclear. I am not big fan of that dessert but this one is absolutely delicious! During my visit, i found They have chocolate, cakes, cupcakes and coffee. Alk looks yummy. Probably next time I Will try the cake

Came here with a friend after dinner to get a coffee for dessert! This is my first time coming here and ordering coffee so I was pretty excited to try. First glance, it was super "hip" looking and loved the open space to do work or meet up with friends! Got a cortado which didn't have any latte art but that's fine. I'm all about the taste. However, the drink was a bit boring for me - espresso didn't really have much flavor or after taste but at least it wasn't burnt. Also a single shot cortado is only $2.25 and a double is $3! Prices are pretty good. Come here for the vibes to chill! Not sure about the cortado but down to try something different next time.

I am a big Swiss fan so I asked if they had any - I ended up buying a small piece of one, which ended up being tasty, and also an aged cheddar they had, called Prairie Farms - they had a sample of it and it was DELICIOUS, which swayed me to try it. They also sell tiny little charcuterie boxes here and even big things of gelato. Everything looked really good. Staff is also very friendly - the girl behind the counter is a recent UM grad so we talked about that, I'm a 2009 alum. $6-7 for a small block of cheese is pretty standard for gourmet cheeses too, so I didn't think it was super pricey (although they did have some for $15+). I definitely want to stop by here again the next time I'm in A2.

Mostly, cheese for me. Today I picked up: six ounces of a very creamy Goat cream cheese, a smoked salmon cream cheese and a Goat feta. Since we had a cooler, I also bought a half pound of Detroit Street Brick cheese. It begins as a dense, crumbly cheese with a twist of lemon and ages into more of a savory, spicy flavour. The star of the show is the gelato. I say the best is the Coffee flavour. Closely followed by the Peanut Butter chocolate and the Dark chocolate. Today we split a Cherry Cream Cheese Gelato. It really hit the spot. The prices are a bit steep. You're paying for quality, not quantity. Always an education talking cheese with these folks! 08/24

Shoutout to my friend and fellow foodie Tiffany for always being down to try a new spot together!…read moreWe did a double date at El Harissa recently and it's my favorite kind of spot - welcoming and warm, with delicious food, and kind, patient employees. The cafe is a few tables inside of the market/deli, with a lot of takeout happening but I love that they offer dining in as they heat everything up for you and it's all presented very nicely. We ordered a ton of things: harissa dip, hummus, pita, spice roasted cauliflower, tabbouleh, lasagne verde, chicken tagine, and gelato. I loved that the menu indicates which menu items have a smaller carbon footprint - and we happened to be dining there on Earth Day! The food was all flavorful and the perfect temperature, which I appreciated. My favorites were the harissa dip, tabbouleh, and the lasagne verde. The chicken tagine was very good, and we enjoyed the leftovers the next day. The spice roasted cauliflower left us wanting it to be a bit more crispy, but it was a nice side. The gelato is delicious - it's made by Palazzolo's but El Harissa provides them with the unique ingredients for their specialty flavors. They were out of some but we got to sample several. We ended up with the roasted pistachio gelato and the apricot peach cardamom. The texture of the gelato was perfectly creamy and the flavors were strong. The market has lots of great items to buy: chips, tunisian olive wood pieces, spices, etc. I'm so glad we sought out this spot and can't wait to get more of their food!

I also like the harissa dip it came with! *Small Merguez Meatballs (Inspired by the Maghrebi sausage, our spiced lamb and beef meatballs are hand-rolled with onions and herbs and coated with a thick tomato sauce. Served with saffron rice or couscous - small portion came with 3 for $10): For meatballs that included lamb - it wasn't gamey at all and very tasty! I'm also confused by the macaron flavors, as they aren't tea-inspired. I would go to TeaHaus over this extension, as their tea is good and they have seating. Gelato - very dense and milky. A medium (2 scoops) is $4. I tried the strawberry green tea and an earl gray with lavender shortbread, and both mostly just tasted like milk - the flavors are accurate, but they're very weak and difficult to detect. The caramel and black tea with sea salt had a mild caramel taste but no salt. They do offer samples. Macarons ($2.25 each) - flavors are good but shells need work. They're really big (about 2.5" in diameter), and the rotating flavors are often fun and creative. Le Bon Macaron has better shell quality, but the flavors here are better. Compared to when I first tried them 3 or 4 years ago the macarons have improved, but out of the ones I tried recently only one (chocolate malt in July) was decent. Quality is really hit or miss depending on the batch you happen to get. -raspberry key lime (August) - really sugary with a weak lime flavor -bubblegum (July) - tasted very much like bubblegum but the shells were very crunchy and overbaked, and there were huge air pockets -superman (July) - too chewy and soft -brown butter pecan (July) - good flavor but shells were dry and too crunchy, and the buttercream was very stiff and buttery
