I decided to shampoo the carpet of my new house the day of closing. I had 48 hours to find a cleaner. I sent out a bunch of inquiries and Zimp got back to me immediately. The rate was reasonable. Didn't see the 15% discount for mentioning yelp. That sucks. Well, onto the review. I paid for my parents living area and hallway to be cleaned, deodorized, and two other treatments I can't remember, but pretty much the whole quad package that is offered for carpets, all individually priced. Liked that they were able to come out quickly, easy online ordering and payment was hassle free. However, my parents weren't happy with the results. There were still dark marks or spots in some areas that they expected would disappear, and it also looks like the edges of the walls where the carpet hits did not get cleaned at all. They also have large flowing curtains in the front and back of the room where large windows are and those weren't moved to get the carpet under them so there were major areas missed. My parents said never use them again. I'm really confused by all of the positive reviews. My fellow helpers have never failed me but this time I'm quite disappointed. UPDATE: The owner came out the following week to redo the areas that we were not completely satisfied with. He was very nice and did a great job, explained that the person who came out the first time was new and may have been shy about asking us to move curtains and such, which is understandable as my folks aren't English-fluent. He also mentioned they have a baby bump special right now where if you're getting a carpet cleaning because you're expecting, you get a free house-cleaning after the baby is born. William responded fast, had reasonable prices and was great at scheduling when I needed: in the evening. He was personable and did a great job. He charged what he quoted. His van needs access to water hook-up (hose hook-up). He was able to run the hoses up three stories and reach all areas. The carpets look great! They got that professional slant triangle clean grid. I'm very happy with the results. I'm not sure how long the carpets will remain damp. It's been 4 hours and they're still damp. I'm guessing it'll need about 12 hours to dry. Two great things were the price and that they used their own water. We hired them because the previous owners had a dog, we told the tech that was specifically why we needed the carpets cleaned. About 5 hours after the job was done, we noticed that the there was a significant urine smell in certain areas. Apparently, the cleaning revived those odors. read more

I saw all the good reviews, so I went with them. I saw some Groupon for cheaper carpet cleaning, but since I am such a die hard yelper, I figure going with a 4+ star is the way to go. The service was fine, and they sent a thank you card. Those are nice touches. But the guy who came (Bill? It was an older guy who moved down to Seattle recently) and his assistant, did an ok job. I would say it's partially my fault because I didn't follow them everywhere to check how well they did, but I felt like he just sprayed the chemicals on the carpet, my hardwood floor, and my tiles, and then wiped it. It was ~$150 for 640 sq ft, and i still see some dirt marks on my carpet. There were one or two paint spots on my carpet (which I am not sure if they can remove anyways, but they definitely glossed over it and didn't give it any attention). They didn't put sealant on the grout (again, I am not sure what the standard is, since this is my first carpet cleaning). The hardwood floor bugged me a bit. They mopped it and then spray a coating on top. But they did not mop or clean it with details, so I had dirt waxed/coated into the hardwood floor. I had to scrub really hard to get rid of the coating and then the dirt underneath. I would say Zimp had average prices and average service. I would use them again, but I wouldn't just trust them on their quality. I'll be more discerning and watch them. Or if I find a cheaper competitor, I'll probably give those a whirl first. Overall: meh. Didn't shine, didn't suck. Just don't get your hopes up like I did. The good was they did take credit card and the price was as quoted. And it was done timely (Because lack of attention, I suppose). read more

I was able to ask all my questions and set up my appointment via email. Bill (the owner) is very kind and professional. he was on time which is always appreciated. i was on a budget and i know carpet cleaning can get expensive. he gave me a quote and stuck to that when arriving at my home. i was having him clean a portion on my home as well as my couch. while cleaning the couch Bill also cleaned my living room carpet FREE of charge because he noticed a few stains. this was not one of the rooms i was looking to clean. over all i think Zimp is everything a carpet cleaner should be. not too mention you get a yelp discount!!! read more

Found Zimp via Yelp. Pretty much it was DA Burns or Zimp. Called DA Burns and got a quote. Then called Zimp and spoke with Bill, the owner. Nice guy. Answered all my questions. Was honest with his answers and didn't upsell. Arrived early and called to let me know they could make it early. Did everything they promised and was in and out in a short time. I was thinking about using DA Burns, but for less than half the price ($112.50 vs $250), and for the equivalent service, I'm glad I chose Zimp. They use the same equipment as DA Burns, and the same quality cleaning solution. Give Bill a call and ask your questions. You'll be equally confident at his knowledge and skill. On a side note, I then inquired about their cleaning service. $150 for 4-5 hours of cleaning. After my trust was earned with the carpet cleaning, I scheduled a cleaning a few days later (move-in cleaning). A crew of two showed up and they were done in 2.5 hours. Well done! Great experience. I called Zimp's on a Wednesday morning and got an appointment for Thursday evening. Now that's service! Bill arrived exactly at the appointed time and walked through the house with me at the beginning so I could point out the spots that irked me the most. For about $150 we got our living room, hallway and stairway done. The price seemed fair and included a 10% discount for mentioned yelp. Our carpet was NASTY (the house was a rental before we purchased it), so the carpets were in desperate need of a deep clean. He was down on his hands and knees scrubbing at the spots. Bill is really knowledgeable and gave several good tips while he was cleaning. The whole process took about an hour. I like that he takes credit cards. I would definitely use them again. Zimp's is running a special right now for expectant families - They'll clean the carpets before the baby comes and then come afterward and clean the house for free. Pretty cool I think. read more

ZImp is very nice, professional, and cost competitive ( actually lower). Their cleaning guy, a very nice and professional representative , called before, showed up on time, and went right to work. It took about an hour and he was off. After the drying period the carpet looked terrible. There were noticeable white spots where they applied extra spot cleaner and many areas were still dingy and didn't look cleaned at all. I emailed them and the owner Bill called back. He was very pleasant to deal with and apologetic. He said he would call back to re-schedule another appointment, show up personally to oversee the job, and the original guy didn't have the proper training to clean our berber carpets. When I didn't hear back from Bill i had to call again and we scheduled a second time. The same very nice guy showed up, without Bill, to re-clean the carpets. He told me the machine they use to clean our type of carpets was broken the first time but he had, and used it this time. After he was done there was a noticeable difference, it looked cleaned. He even applied a stain guard at no charge for our troubles. I appreciate them making things right, but I think it would have been much better if they woudl have just re-scheduled the appointment in the first place when they knew their machine was down. I also didn't appreciate being told it was lack of training when that wasn't the case, the guy knew exactly what he was doing. Bill also said he would personally show up and he didn't, and it was kind of a bummer that I had to do everything twice for their mistake. In the end I just think they are too busy. The customer service is of high caliber and I will probably even use them again, but form this experience it just wasn't a five star in my book. read more

We had what seemed like an impossible job -- removing stubborn drywall dust from our concrete basement floors after a remodel. We had decided after the fact to keep the concrete bare, but the drywall dust had solidified into a paste that clung to the floors like paint. We called Bill at Zimp and he said he'd never done something like that before, but he was up to the challenge. The job turned out to be more challenging than he had anticipated, and took almost three hours to complete. Still, he only charged us the original estimate price for one hour. And, he got that drywall dust off the concrete! I'm pretty sure that floor has never been so clean. Bill was very polite, arrived on time, and worked very hard for us late into a Friday evening. We used DA Burns for years, and I finally got tired of the attitude. It was the scheduling person on the phone that finally put me over the edge this time. So I cancelled our Burns appointment and went to Yelp. Bill with Zimp was prompt, professional and friendly. He was careful to set up the equipment and worked very hard to thoroughly clean areas on 3 different floors of the house, including 2 stairwells. I hadn't asked ahead of time for him to do the couch, but since everything else was going so well, I tried to add it on. He was going to give me a price break for it (since he was already here and set up) but once he realized he was missing a key piece of equipment, he offered to come back another time for the same price.
