Three sales via Zimbrick West. First two sales, that gentleman is now retired. Erin V. sold me my third vehicle. I found both sales people to be friendly, genuine, informative, and responsive. I go to lots of lots and walk off. I never had to play hard ball here. I felt in control or at least on the same team as the salesperson. Referred my friend here and she also bought a car. I like that it seems a service consultant is assigned to you. Not sure how they do that but I like the consistency. Almost always had Joe Z. who has the service skills as well. The waiting areas (yes, multiple) are nicer than some people's homes. Bought a different brand, larger vehicle after upgrading three of the same via Buick. Motor vehicle collision after someone ran a red light and smashed me and the vehicle up, so just couldn't get back into the same thing. But barring that I'd still be using Zimbrick West. I love GMC, and use their dealership services as it relates to the brand. Zimbrick is the worst GMC affiliated company I've had to deal with. It clearly is ALL about the cash flow! Had an older GMC worked on to get necessary engine repairs/upgrades, $5,000! Have a new GMC that was in a minor accident, with body work and paint job done, $3,500 - to this day, people ask what happened to it! The paint job is that bad!!!! Review for the service area. I brought my Terrain in with a couple questions and a service light that was going off and on for two weeks. Of course the light was off when I took it in and I got some attitude from whoever it was that was trying to help me about it. I just felt like overall the guy had little to no patience for me and answered my questions so insanely fast that I left gaining absolutely nothing from the visit. Yes I'm a women but I'm relatively familiar with cars so idk what his problem was. From the get go we were constantly told one thing then another by the gmc service department. That is why I visit a dealer - understanding I will pay higher prices but get a straight to the point answer. I cannot even explain the incompetence of this dealer and their greedy service department. $500 later and 5 minutes down the street same problem surfaced. I recently tried to call to make an appointment to bring in my Pontiac for a cruise control issue. After waiting on hold for "the next available service representative" FOUR times and being jockied between two receptionists I hung up and called a different GM dealer in town. he receptionist didn't even offer to take a message to have someone contact me when they were free. They didn't even offer a voicemail box to leave a message. What horrible service. I will drive the extra 10 minutes down the Beltline to work with someone who isn't too busy for my business. read more

updated: found out they are not accredited by the BBB. Now I know why My wife and I went in to purchase a vehicle. We liked it and signed a purchase contract. It was Saturday, so the contract was based upon our acceptance of financial terms which they were going to get on Monday when the banks reopened. We waited all day Monday, no call. Finally I called and was told they were working on it. Two days passed, no call, so I stopped in and was told the same thing. Today, Friday, I called with approved financing but to my surprise they had already sold the car. It is so disrespectful and poor business practice to treat customers like this. They didn't care about contracts or customers, just the bottom line. I am obviously taking my money and going to a different dealership to purchase a vehicle. I will never buy from them again, and I beg that you not do it either. Why set yourself up to be treated this way? This is the first time I have seen car dealerships for what they really are and why they get such a bad rap in general. Definitely avoid this place. read more

FRAUD!! A follow up to Zimbrick only gets worse, if that's even possible?! After all these issues with Zimbrick and the truck, I started to do some research and come to find out the "CPO" truck that we purchased was not actually a CPO truck. It did not get certified and there were 5 things at a minimum on the 172 GM CPO checklist that were clearly wrong with the car to deny it being a CPO, yet Zimbrick had us pay thousands extra for "CPO". Zimbrick was not helpful in any of the discussions and could not provide proof that it was truly a CPO. FRAUD #2. Zimbrick had been posting on their website that they were BBB Accredited with A+ rating. I went to file a complaint with the BBB on them defrauding us on the CPO issue and come to find out that they are NOT BBB Accredited at all. They were falsely using that accreditation to gain people's trust with their fake reputation in the community. Please avoid Zimbrick at all costs. This has been an expensive learning experience that has cost us over $15,000 to have done business with them! read more

Don't use their service department! The wait to simply get the car checked in was really long especially since there were others available to help me but since I made the appointment with a particular service advisor I had to wait for him to be free. When my wife went in to pick up the car it was the same situation and when he was finally off the phone he simply directed her to customer service to make payment without any explanation of what had been done and not been done. After she got out to the car she discovered they had left their garbage in the car(paper floor mats, wash request tag and some paper with notes on it). Not so bad right well when she got home and I reviewed the paper work things that are normally included where not there such as the inspection sheet that shows they checked my fluid, brakes and the like. Even worse is what was there, basically proof that the before and after numbers for the alignment I paid for were exactly the same and some where out of specification but were left unchanged. This is getting long so I will leave you with this, blah blah blah we can't do anything about it. Bad service and run around answers. They used to be the best I wonder what happened? read more

ABSOLUTELY INCOMPETENT. Made an appointment a week out to have work done on my truck. Dropped it off Sunday because I had to be at work early. Got a ride back after work and the truck had not even been moved. The answer I was given was that they " didn't know what was going on with it "they didn't do anything. I would give 6 stars if I could. We were in a bad spot on our way across the country towing a big trailer with an older Chevy Blazer. We determined the trailer was way too much for the Blazer to handle and stopped in to Zimbrick to see if they could help us out. John McClellan warmly greeted us without a trace of salesmanitis. He had a beautiful '06 Silverado that would be perfect for us. He and the rest of the sales department treated us very fair on the business side of things then stayed well after closing to make sure our whole towing situation was safe and solid. These folks literally saved our move and we are very grateful. I have never had this pleasant of an experience at a dealership before and I would certainly buy from them again. If you want to waste your time and spend more than you should, if you like dealing unprofessional people, then Zimbrick is your best choice. We were ready to buy a new car and gave them first shot. The waiting was over 3 hours between the estimator taking his time and the sales manager shooting the bull with staff just to "slow us down". Estimator got pretty mad when my husband wanted to drive with. Why?? Because we have seen how he preforms his "test drives". Gun the engine, take it to top speeds,, slam on the breaks - do that a few times, run over curbs and then tell us the car has bad breaks (just replaced 3 months ago and are fine) tires have flat spots (no flat spots when I brought the car in!!.....)So, he priced the car as if it was a high mileage rust bucket - Looks brand new,...but wanted excessive $$$ for the car we were looking at..... We walked out quite frustrated. Went to Holz in Watertown. WORTH THE TRIP!!! Mike Peal - we were there an hour....ONE hour. Test drive a car that peaked our interest, got a very realistic quote for my car -considerably better than Zimbrick offered - and Holz LOOKED at my car....LOOKED at my tires, condition of the vehicle, they could pull up the service we have had on the car, KNEW it was well maintained and offered accordingly. ONE HOUR!!!! I am the proud owner of a new 2017 because of the service, professionalism and COURTESY Holz extends to it's customers! I recently had my car serviced at Zimbrick. When the service was completed the mechanic could not back the car out of the service garage because there was no engine power. The car ran perfectly before the service. Long story short, I was told the throttle assembly was damaged and had to be replaced. With labor ($135 per hour!!!) and the cost of the part, it cost me almost $600. I wrote to John Zimbrick and the Jon Wirth the service manager about the incident but was not given a fair resolution on the repair costs. I still believe the damage done to the throttle assembly was the fault of the mechanic. I have done business with Zimbrick for years, however after this recent experience I am taking my business elsewhere. read more

Service department has tried to "sell" repairs that have been unnecessary twice in the past 5 months. Either too lazy to look and not just go by what the computer says or suggested "Sale", or completely dishonest. I actually started to write in silver sharpie the dates on the parts I replaced which came in handy to prove them wrong once already! This last experience a week ago was to sell me a 600 repair on my 3 year old Enclave that was completely NOT needed. I am so thankful I had a second opinion by another GM certitifed mechanic! Not only that but I was able to have my front brakes and rotors replaced for $100 less elsewhere! They have earned my complete LACK of trust! never again with they see business from us! Alright, I brought my new used 2013 car in for a tire pressure issue. I was told I would be here less than one hour... Hour 2, just got my car but tire light STILL on!! Dan E the service guy was the least interested person and did not advocate for me in the service dept -at all! I can't believe the light was still on and I was told I'd have to make an appt at VW in Middleton to get it fixed... Poor customer service! Incompetent technicians! Luckily, I went to the used Zimbrick dealer (2 doors down) and my sales guy - Fue knew how to fix the light issue. I will never go to this service repair department again! Thank you John Mather and service team! We were in Platteville and had a blown fuse so our phone chargers were not working. Onstar routed our call to John at zimbrick Buick and we stopped in on our way to the airport. They replaced the fuse in less than 5 minutes and we were on our way! John gave us perfect directions and had already diagnosed the problem by the time we got there! I recently took my vehicle in for an oil change (purchased at Zimbrick so had a year of free oild changes). When I started the car after the service visit while still on the lot, a new warning light stating the "front assist unavailable" was on. Dan Ellis and the team at Zimbrick Buick GMC noted damage to the front censor area and transferred the vehicle to Zimbrick VW East who stated the entire censor and housing would need to be replaced at around $1900. I never had front impact damage preceding the visit and the light was not on when I dropped the car off at the dealership (which Dan agreed was true). Now I have an expensive fix and no functional cruise control. Leaving your new car in the hands of a dealership only to have it given back with a brand new warning light and a $1900 repair bill is egregious. Dan Ellis was unwilling to offer reimbursement for repair. I am now making an insurance claim for an arbitration of fault/payment and have notified the better business bureau. The right thing to do would be restabilize the sensor and recalibrate at a menial cost to the dealership but Dan and Zimbrick GMC west were unwilling to do that. read more

Avoid the service department unless you want to be ripped off. Recently took my 2002 Pontiac Sunfire in because a number of lights kept coming on. I was told that I needed a front wheel speed sensor replaced and that it would cost $588. I foolishly told them to go ahead without getting a second opinion. They didn't have the part so they kept the car overnight and I had to find transportation home and back to work. When they finally completed the work and I went to pick it up, it wasn't just $588, but $634. After the sticker shock settled in, I called my son who is mechanically inclined and he told me this was a ~$100 worth of parts and about 30 minutes worth of labor. I then called Ballweg in Sauk Prairie and asked them for a ball park for this kind of fix, they told me all in on the most expensive side it would be $200 to $220! I ended up calling back to my service rep and told him I felt like I had been ripped off and asked for an explanation. He told me that it is a minimum of 1 hour to read the diagnostics and then it is a flat rate of 1.3 hours for labor (regardless of how much time it actually takes to do the work). The parts were over $300 (3x as much as my son found the very same parts on line). "Other dealerships may do things differently, but this is how we do it," my rep told me. Lesson learned here and trust me, I will never do any more business with Zimbrick and I will not miss an opportunity to let the people I know, just how they ripped me off. As a side note, if you need a ride to work they give you a cab voucher and you have to wait for the cab both getting to work and then back. As it happened my cabbie ended up getting in an argument with another and I ended up getting in and out of cabs several times until they worked it out. Overall if my advice is to stay away from Zimbrick service. As just a funny, "ha ha" note, the day after I picked up the car I was driving down hwy 51 and saw a billboard of Bo Ryan and it said, "I trust Zimbrick Buick." Hmmm, I wonder why they had to pay him to say that, makes you wonder doesn't it... read more

I brought my truck back again for a shake, vibration, and for the transmission shifting harsh going from first gear into second also forth going into fifth. The mechanic test drove the truck and said their was nothing wrong. The truck still shakes and the trans is still not fixed. read more

We had a great experience with the purchase of our new Yukon Denali xl- Jason did a wonderful job with helping us get the exact vehicle we wanted and took the time to make sure we were happy with our purchase. Every time I come to this particular dealership, something is 'found.' This time, I was told a light had come on to my dash that wasn't present when I turned the vehicle in. Furthermore, I was told it would cost me $500 to fix - hmmm. This comes on the heels of another $2,000 I have spent at the dealership since December. I decided to take my vehicle (2011 high end vehicle, with low miles) to another Buick dealership. Wouldn't you know, the $500 charge was only a $90 diagnostic charge, and I was told, 'You must have been to Zimbrick.' Problem fixed (both the car and my new service dealership.) Shameful. read more

The repairs took twice as long as promised which happens, but NO ONE kept us up to date. And on top of that we were charged $142 dollars for a 'fix' , which the service advisor acknowledged was a known GMC issue, and it did not work at all. We still have the same issue. When we asked about getting our money back we were told by the service advisor that there was NO ONE at this place who had the power to help us. Right..... I will NEVER go back there again. Love my car but this service department leave a lot to be desired. A lot!!!! read more

This place is the biggest joke! We have a warranty through them that's the ONLY reason I would ever take my car here. I showed up at 7:45 there was one other customer there. They have 7 guys standing around doing nothing! When you ask for help they tell you they can't help because I happen to talk to this guy instead of this guy so on and so on. So 6 other guys continued to sit there why I waited for the guy i talked to on the phone to not be "busy"...... By this time I didn't get out of there till 8:45 and was late for work..... We have had our car "Serviced" there over 7 times. The first time they got water in the spark plugs when they power washed the engine compartment. So about 24 hrs after we got this used car from Zimbrick it started chugging like the engine was misfiring. We took it in and told them what the problem was and they took an entire day to tell us the spark plugs were bad and another day to fix them..... After the spark plugs were fixed, the car had a grinding metal on metal sound when you turned the wheel. They then replaced the front brakes took two days....Then there was another metal grinding sound, they looked at the car and said it was the engine mount. Waited a week for that part to come in when it did they did not call and tell us it was in. We had not had this car for a month yet! They replaced the engine mount which took 2 days but that didn't fix the problem!!! So again we brought the car in now and they said it was a brake cable rubbing on the strut.... They "fixed" that. We went a week and the noise came back and the engine light was on now! We called and told them the engine light was on. They told us they could do nothing with it until they got a hold of ford..... They took two days to get a hold of Ford and they still had nothing to tell us. We went to a place where the diagnose engines for free and they said the thermometer was bad. We then called Zimbrick again and told them the thermometer was bad. So after 4 days we got an appointment and they said the thermometer was bad and they needed to make an adjustments on the front brakes which they had "replaced" a week before that. So they again took two days to fix my car! We have had the car for a month and half now and we hope there are no more problems because we are sick of going to this horrible place NEVER NEVER NEVER GO HERE THIS PLACE IS A JOKE! read more
