Carmel macchiato and waffle sausage sandwich

Such an incredible drink & food selection for adults AND kids! Fast & friendly service, clean & cute interior - a great addition to the North Indy area coffee scene! The waffle sandwich is a MUST try!! Expect to see this shop expand quickly - yes, it's that good!

The space itself is what appears to be an old schoolhouse, and it's incredibly warm and welcoming inside. There's a great mix of seating on the first floor, including community seating near a fireplace, smaller tables, and larger tables for groups. I noticed there's also an upstairs area that I didn't explore, but even just the main level felt homey and comfortable. It's definitely a spot I'd come back to for getting out of the house to work, bringing a laptop, or even meeting friends for a casual coffee date. The vibe is very cozy and inviting, and the staff was friendly and kind. The menu is thoughtfully curated, not overwhelming, but still offers a nice variety of syrups and flavors. My only small wish is that there were more loose-leaf tea options beyond black and green tea, but that didn't take away from the experience. Overall, this was a fantastic visit and a café I'd happily return to.

And at least for the holiday season, the interior looks incredibly cozy and inviting. If you have nowhere to go for a few hours, it would be a nice place to hang out and chat with friends. However, the coffee is fine, not spectacular. And the wait on the Tuesday morning I stopped by was about 25 minutes. Maybe it was quicker in the drive thru, but then you'd miss out on the decorations. Overall, it's a cute enough place to stop by on a day off for a leisurely morning, but I don't know that I would make a special trip.

Since I would miss the activities planned for later that week, we both carved out some time to have a small celebration with just the two of us. It was one of those moments that is good for the soul. Every good story needs a great setting. And the context of our story took place at Lincoln Square in Fortville. It was the perfect middle point between our two homes, so it seemed only natural. I had never been to this location. The birthday girl ordered the decadent Banana Bread French Toast. It is topped with fresh banana slices, pecans, caramel sauce and cinnamon whipped butter! I mean, Jesus, take the wheel! I went with a classic Western omelet. You can tell a lot about a place by how they cook the classics. And Lincoln Square did it right. Plus, my omelet came with hash browns and my choice of toast, pancakes, a biscuit or French toast. I felt like it was my final meal before walking the Green Mile! Everything was delicious. We went a little late for most breakfast crowds, so the diner wasn't very busy. Either way, we had great service and the staff were all very kind. I had the feeling that even if they had been busy, you would still be given excellent service with a smile. Like my coffee mug reminded me, every sip counts. I feel like that is a mantra Lincoln Square holds dear. Side note: I am new Yelper, and I am still trying to get a hang of this taking picture of everything deal. How do you guys do it? Do you ask permission first? I took some pictures of the restaurant and the outdoor signage before going inside. Yet, before I could even get to the front door, the manager came outside to meet me and asked if everything was alright. I explained I was working on a Yelp review, and he was very kind. But it got my heart racing. Can someone educate me on the proper Yelp photo etiquette, please?? TIA

It is a nice sized place with a kitchen counter for singels to dine at if they are busy. Seemed like a good amount of locals enjoying a late Monday breakfast. It's large spacouce, and I can see it being slammed on the weekend. Their coffee cups are nice and large, which I sure saves the staff. The coffee itself is great. The only drawback is that the creamers were prepacked. That is common but my one note for improvement if the owners are on social. The staff is aaa freindly, good recommendations. And engaged. I had the indiana benediction. 1 biscuit with 2 sausage patties, poached eggs smothered in sausage gravy with a side of hashbrows. The gravy was grey and flavorful with light sausage bits. I love the small town feel!! The restaurant vibe reflects the town. Everyone is very welcoming. I didn't catch bartenders name, but she was very friendly to everyone at her bar. She told us her favorites on the menu. I appreciated her knowledge about the restaurant and the menu. The bar area seemed a little dark, but that actually enhanced the experience of an old bar. We only sat in the bar area, I believe there is additional seating in another room, but I didn't look. I opted for a grilled tenderloin and a cup of beer cheddar jalapeño cheese soup. The sandwich's are Ala carte. The sandwich was bigger than I expected, that would have been enough for lunch. The trick with grilled tenderloin is that many times it is over cooked, so it is dry. This was cooked to perfection; cooked but still moist. The sandwich, with the "garden" was awesome. Now to the soup. I think she said they use wee Mac as the beer. The jalapeño was puréed. There was crispy bacon crumbled on top; I did not care for the bacon. The soup was odd to me as I was eating it. Because of the texture, it reminded me of corn chowder. There was a little spice/flavor from the jalapeño. What was odd to me, was it didn't wow me like I thought it would, but I kept eating it. So in the end, I think I really liked it bc I ate all of it!!! The menu is not large, but has a good variety for its size. The desserts were impressive, I just didn't have room for it. I could easily become a regular there!!

She took great care of us even with a fee hiccups (that weren't her fault). Salt had such fun instagram promos for this event which is what brought us here! My only note is that if something is being advertised there should be enough to go around. The restaurant only had what seemed to be 5 food tower stands and the event menu had the wrong dessert listed. That said, our waitress was able to get us a tower stands eventually, and the dessert misprint wasn't communicated to her until after we ordered. Again, not her fault at all - she was an absolute doll and really saved the experience and made it enjoyable! Highly recommend going and trying the lemon drop martini, sushi and kung poa shrimp!! Would go back again.

I ordered the chicken fried chicken and it was a good portion. The chicken seemed breaded nicely, but it was hard to cut up the chicken and it tasted chewy and overdone. The jalapeño gravy was good, but it wasn't a meal I would drive back for. I tried a bite of the key lime cheesecake - it wasn't great due to bits of granulated sugar. The cinnamon sugar bundt cake was delicious though quite a small portion. Overall I felt the menu was quite overpriced for the quality of food, but I cannot speak on the seafood offerings.
