He is very nice and laughed when I asked for funds to retire when asked if there was anything else he could do for us. My companion and I both had water, and I also had coffee.. Caffeine is still a necessity in the morning and Sunny Day Cafe's coffee is very good. No generic, bad tasting drip coffee here! My friend was craving pancakes, so she ordered a stack. I was torn between the biscuits & gravy, and the french toast. The biscuits & gravy won out and I had a couple of eggs added on top. I'm also a big hash brown kind of guy so I ordered some on the side. The pancakes looked very good as did the biscuits & gravy. I can't speak for the pancakes, because I didn't get a chance to sample them, but I have to say I was a bit disappointed with the B&G's. The gravy was kind of thin and tasteless. The biscuits were nice, and the eggs were cooked just like I asked. It wasn't bad, but not up to par with other places I have had biscuits & gravy from. (My house included.) The hash browns were disappointing also. They had an odd taste to them. Kind of like they had been cooked in the same spot as seafood was just cooked and used the residual oil. It was very off putting. Next time I will order the french toast. It has a nice selection of berries that are served with it, and sounds delicious. Overall, Sunny Day Cafe is a nice place for breakfast. The prices are reasonable, and the portions a nice size. The staff is great, and the atmosphere is relaxing. I will be back and try some of their other offerings.

I had never been to this location. The birthday girl ordered the decadent Banana Bread French Toast. It is topped with fresh banana slices, pecans, caramel sauce and cinnamon whipped butter! I mean, Jesus, take the wheel! I went with a classic Western omelet. You can tell a lot about a place by how they cook the classics. And Lincoln Square did it right. Plus, my omelet came with hash browns and my choice of toast, pancakes, a biscuit or French toast. I felt like it was my final meal before walking the Green Mile! Everything was delicious. We went a little late for most breakfast crowds, so the diner wasn't very busy. Either way, we had great service and the staff were all very kind. I had the feeling that even if they had been busy, you would still be given excellent service with a smile. Like my coffee mug reminded me, every sip counts. For our last day in Indiana, my coworkers thought it would be great for us to experience Waffle House. There aren't any locations in CA and NY - so two of us from these states were excited to try it out. First off, we were greeted with a wonderful welcome by this young lady working with two other people. She was upbeat and had such an enthusiastic energy about her. Second, the two-page menu was simple but there were variations of waffles, scattered potatoes, eggs, etc. that it was hard to decide what to get. Of course, I had to have their waffles - after all, it's in their business name. And then I copied my coworker who ordered scattered potatoes. She got hers smothered and covered, while I got mine smothered and country. OMG, both of these dishes were incredible! It was nice and hot. Seriously!! I savored every bite. Third, the prices were amazing. We were able to feed 4 people under $25! What a steal! Overall, the entire experience was memorable. I dream of these waffles and hashbrowns, and wish to be able to have these again. Our server made the entire experience great, too. She even came out to help us take group photos in front of the Waffle House. She's an absolute gem! And this Waffle House location made a lasting impression for my first visit.
