Just an excellent place to be!…read more A friend had heard rave reviews about their authentic Argentinian empanadas and we were so happy to come and try it out on a Saturday afternoon. Parking was busy (the lot is shared with Trader Joe's) but we managed to find a spot and head into the busy but not packed cafe. There is a large assortment of empanadas, from meat options like chorizo and chicken, to vegetarian like corn and onion, to sweet options too like apples. The menu also boasts lots of great drinks including mate tea! Lucky us, the empanadas we ordered weren't in stock so we had to wait ~10 for freshly baked ones. They came out buttery and piping hot, even with little hand-stamped letters on them so you know what you're eating, and it was so delicious. Most are about $5.50 each. Add oregano chimichurri for a bit extra if you want or pair with a tea, but these empanadas really hit the snacky spot. Lots of wooden tables with fresh flowers make Pampas a great space to chat with friends or to sit and do some work. The most standout feature was the friendly and efficient staff who seem to build connections with everybody who walks in the door. Worth a drive to Castro Valley! Especially if you bring cash for a 10% discount off a dozen :)

Great back patio, delicious menu…read more My husband and I popped by for a late lunch on a Friday, and their back patio was almost full. We ordered their Brusselsprouts and short rib sandwich to share and the proportions were perfect, just enough food and we didn't leave a morsel behind. Their short rib sandwich was heavenly and the chimichurri sauce plus grilled peppers elevated the experience. If you're torn about ordering a full shareable of the habanero fries, here's an insider tip: we asked for a side of their habanero sauce to go with our side of fries so we would still have enough room for their short rib sandwich! Their sprouts were phenomenal. Loved the sweat punch added by the cranberries and shaved carrots to balance the charr of the brussels. Will 1000% be returning to check out their dinner menu. I haven't had a milanesa since I was in Argentina, but I trust Brava to meet the assignment!

Came here on a Sunday afternoon. The place was packed but still had space in the back patio. I…read morereally enjoyed the cute aesthetics and the decor for the back patio. - Ambiance was 4/5: really liked the outdoor seating and area. Nice place to chill and enjoys some sun. - Service was 3/5: servers were nice and came to refill water when it was low. Not too much interaction as it was busy. - food was 3/5: presentation was nice but I felt the taste was lackluster. The empanadas were good but nothing that stood out. The sandwiches were really heavy, short rib was kind of messy and fell out of the bread, flavor was bland without using the sauces. The steak sandwich was a tad chewy, also bland without the sauces. The fries however were amazing, crispy and fresh.

Argentinian Empanadas and desserts that are to die for!…read more Crave worthy return in order for the beef empanada and the dessert: pastel( round crisp flaky layered pastry with guava and dulce de leche layers ) I wish they made a larger one to utilize as a pie like item for parties and special occassions! Two locations ; 1. across from New Tech High ; Napa 2. South San Francisco You must try Frozen packs of empanadas available for at home baking Chimichurri sauce is also fabulous and available for sale separately There are many other desserts and empanadas to try noteworthy: meticulous attention to detail right down to a special rubber stamp on paper bags indicating type of empanada or item seating: very small patio and tiny sit up bar at the store front window ... parking "street" All too yummy and we devoured the food items so no photos

I got so excited seeing an Argentinian empanadas place!…read more When we got there, we saw that it is Argentinian AND Colombian. We were told the two owners/partners, one is Argentinian and the other Colombian. Is a nice food combo. We ordered the Beef, Chicken, Ham n Cheese, & Chorizo empanadas. Husband liked the Beef, was actually very good w the traditional filling (raisins Baby!) The chicken empanada was MY fave, it just hit the spot - very Argentinian filling - I wanna say is a must try! Chorizo, we thought it tasted like pizza w sausage Ham n Cheese was OK - in my defense I was never a fan of this one as a kid. Their dough is excellent! Super delicious and perfectly baked! Yes, their empanadas are all baked. They also sell unbaked empanadas to take home, easy to do. Bathroom was clean, a lil off putting having to go thru part of the kitchen but at least the whole place looked very clean, huge points in my book for that. For any Argentinians out there or peeps in the know... they also had Mate cups w Mafalda! And yerba mate to go. We will DEFINITELY be coming back!

At 8:15 reservation time, our party was the lone group in the restaurant. I feared this place was no good and almost did not go in. We were greeted with semi semi bored, semi relieved staff... Over all food is ok and 10 glass of wine unbeatable. I do think that server training should be improved. We were asked for food orders before starting with drinks which I thought was interesting. We got our food with no utensils... those little things. Oh by the time we were done with dinner, a few more patrons came.... That's good for the restaurant.

Riverfront Argentinian restaurant in downtown Napa! Nice views, good service, delicious food!…read more We randomly walked past Entrecot as we touristily explored the area. The menu called to us (we were hungry and it also boasted $5 glasses of wine!). The hostess seated us right away even though we didn't have a reservation. We got an excellent spot outside on the promenade with a beautiful river view (on a Saturday night close to 8pm). We ordered the olives and lamb sausage to start. The lamb sausage was in a red sauce and was so tasty and well prepared. For my main I got the milanesa napolitano with a side salad (instead of fries). The cutlet was huge and I loved every bite of it! I'm only in Napa for a few days so was happy we stumbled across this one-- I recommend this spot if you like meat and you're pretty hungry!

Highly Recommend - MUST TRY! Had lunch at Oxbow Public Market in Napa and came across El Porteño…read more They have both savory and sweet empanadas. We were looking for dessert - something not too sweet. And this was the perfect spot! We had a manzana empanada and a banana y dulce de leche empanada. Both were good - they were warm and freshly baked. I will definitely be back to try some of their savory empanadas. Looking through their website, they also have a location at the Ferry Building and in SOMA. They can also be found at various Farmer's Markets around the Bay Area. I had no idea! They even have catering and delivery options via Uber Eats, Door Dash, or directly from El Porteno's themselves. This is a great business to patronize - unique and delicious. You will not be disappointed!

Love the empanadas from El Porteño! Absolutely Delicious! I…read moremake it a point to stop by every time I am at Oxbow Market in Napa. My usuals are their camarones (shrimp), the espinacas y panceta (spinach bacon and parmesan), and the champiñones (mushroom). The empanadas are served hot, flaky, and contain with a generous amount of filing. If they are out of a particular one at the window, just ask, they will bake a frozen one, which may take 5-7 minutes. I've also tried their carne and pollo empanadas which are also great but the three mentioned above are my favorites. I love that they put the empanadas in labeled sleeves so you actually know which is which! I've been to places that just stamp a letter on the crust, and half the time you can't even read it. This way is much easier especially when you're ordering a bunch of them like me. They are easy to eat on the go or grab a table at either end of Oxbow Market. Don't forget to get a side of their Chimmichuri sauce for $1.50. The sauce really completes the empanada! The staff is always friendly, helpful, and happy to make recommendations if you can't decide. You can't go wrong with any of them as I've tried them all the last few years.
