Well the rust proofing and undercoating is a benefit. The frame rails look new even after years of NY road salt. The paint protection is also good. One point to consider is the up sell. People get all worked up over this. It is a normal practice and you can simply say no thank you, and they just do what you want done. We live north of Binghamton and the manager (Joe) always offers to run the vehicles down for us. It is closer to drive to his house than to Binghamton. I have know him for a long time and he is a straight shooter. My sons truck had a few marks on it after they had it in and they took it back and made it right. Every few years I may have them do a detailing on the paint. They typically will always come down on their "list" price and when you consider other local detailers, their prices are right in line. read more

I had my suv rust proofed. It smelled so bad when I picked it up, I drove home with my windows down and the heat all the way up. It was like 30 degrees outside. I have not driven it since, it's been about 10 days now and it still smells. I'm not sure when I can drive my car again. If you have asthma; copd or MCS (multiple chemical sensitivity) I would not recommend ever having this done to your car. It is extremely toxic!!! If I had known how toxic this was I never would have had it done. I'm supposed to take it back yearly for the next 9 years, not happening! This was a waste of $750. read more

Just had my truck treated with rust eliminator and rust protection. I believe that the product they sell is good. My problem is with the sales staff, it's like dealing with a seedy used car salesman. Very hard to get a thorough explanation of the charges. I had bought a sieze the deal coupon for $450, supposed to be a $900 dollar value. Because I upgraded from under coating to rust protection the $450 savings were not accepted , ended up giving $200 of on the other 2 treatments combined. Bait and switch? I would suggest trying another store if you want ZIEBART. read more

Horrible, would not recommend to anyone with a new vehicle. Paid for the under coat and rust protection and ended up with multiple tiny scratches all over my vehicle, along with over spray on my spare tire as well as the inside of my rims and fenders. They tried to say that the undercoat on my fenders looked like "sap" they cleaned it off. As far as the scratch, it's on the hood that I surely would have noticed since this vehicle is only 4 days off the lot. They didn't deny them doing it, but their fix was to rub some kind of machine polish over the scratch. The polish did lighten the scratch, but it is still there. I paid them over $900 to have them add protection to my vehicle, but Intead they added damage. read more

I took my brand new 2019 vehicle here for ceramic coating. The car was returned to me with swirl marks in the paint and copious amounts of some kind of substance (cleaning compound?) in all of the door jams. It took me forever to clean them all out. There's also a chip in the paint that I feel confident wasn't there before but I obviously can't prove anything as I didn't photograph every inch of my car before leaving it in their care. When I think about the terrible work they did on my first ever brand new off the lot car I become depressed. They've removed some of the joy I felt about this car. I wish I could go back in time and pick a different company. I spent over $1,500 on this service (still paying it off) and I regret going with this company so much it hurts. It has become clear to me that the free inspection is really just an excuse to sell me additional services - which is fine. I get it. You have to make money somehow - but your customer shouldn't leave feeling like they just ran over a puppy or committed some type of crime. On one occasion the sales pitch became a full out argument with your sales associate over why I would not pay several hundred dollars to have you wash my car. read more

I live in Ithaca, so driving my new car to Binghamton was not something I did lightly. I arrived with an appointment for rust protection. In the process of discussing the rust protection and my unhappiness with the dealer "paint protection" that I paid $699 for (and yes...it was just wax -- of which they left white streaks everywhere -- my dealer told me I paid for "a contract to take care of things if something happened") I decided to buy the diamond glass protection. My car looks amazing....and I'm confident this is something that will actually help keep my car looking great. The gentleman who did my car was FUSSY -- such a wonderful thing. He really made sure things were great. He even vacuumed out my car...which had nothing to do with why I was there. The folks at the counter were friendly and knowledgeable. Erick did a great job explaining things, and even located a coupon for me so the cost was less (he didn't need to do this, had already given them the go ahead). Overall very professional, and for a woman in a auto shop I have to say I felt comfortable and that I got great service for a reasonable price. Worth going and letting them service you. read more

So I refrained on giving this review for 3 weeks to see if anything would have changed and I would feel better about the situation. But unfortunately, the whole thing kind of really still grinds my gears. Dec 8th I brought my brand new white 2020 Ford F150 into Ziebart to get a spray in rhino bed liner, under body coating, and full rust protection coating. I had high hopes, very high hopes. This was my first new vehicle and I was excited to start taking care of it right off the bat with this protective kit from Ziebart. I guess I will start with the Rhino Liner. On the phone and on their website they describe it as a consistent material that will be up to ¼" thick. As the job was completed an I went to take a look, I noticed right away that the consistency and uniformity was not there when you compared different portions of the bed and the tailgate. The salesmen I was with said something along the lines of, "Well the spray head isn't something that can get pinpoint uniformity." That seemed like an interesting remark to me seeing as though on their website it said it's a uniform coating. So I took the truck home and parked it in my garage. My drive home was completely dry - thankfully. I would advise you check the weather to make sure it will be dry if you get the under body coating or else it will get all nasty. So I took my car into my garage and lone and behold, there were three areas on my bed where I could see through the rhino lining and to the bar metal below. On both front raised wheel wells and along the front right tie down anchoring point there was only some slight overspray of the lining and you could see bare metal. These areas were a little larger than a half dollar. So the next week I took my truck back, drove an 2 hours total, used up my work vacation for it, for them to fix it. I asked them if it would actually look uniform with everything else. They said it would... but it ended up looking like they out the stuff on their finger and speared it over the bare spots. Yah... super frustrating. The next issue I had were with both the full rust protection and the under body coating. The rust protection coating that is a yellow color was over sprayed about 1" over onto the outside of my back driver side fender. Luckily, I was able to wash it in wd-40 and get it off. It was pretty noticeable against white paint. The next thing that really pissed me off was the lack of time they took in taping off the wheel wells when they did the under body coating. One the fords the rear wheel wells are metal and paint to match the body. These ones you can tell were taped because you can see a delineation line of where the undercoating stopped. On fords front wheel wells though, there is a fibrous rigid felt like mat for a lack of a better description. This mat covers the electronics and such that are in the front. These front wheel wells do not get sprayed since they are lined with this rigid felt like mat. I am guessing that since they don't spray them, they also don't bother taping them off. I know that was what happened because there was overspray on my tires, but even worse is there was overspray onto the outside of my front fenders. So I had black tar on my brand new white truck. I freaked out when I saw it and immediately sprayed w4-40 all over the fenders... luckily the material had not hardened up yet and with some elbow grease it came off. When I brought it up to Ziebart they guy who did it said I am sorry we were really busy that day and I was rushing. So that was my first issue with the under coating.... My second issue is, well you pay you pay around $1500 for a service like this, and it seems like they don't give a damn about the quality of what being done.... So the undercoating is supposed to be on all under surfaces that don't see heat or movement. I would think that they would take 2 minutes to drop the spare tire so they could spray above it... nope, instead they try to spray while the tire is still being stowed. And they get the spray all over the inside 2-4 inches of the tread of the tire and the inside wall of the tire - and then you are left with a bare circular spot of no spray on the underside of your bed because they can't take 2 minutes to drop the tire. I can't make this up - yah it's for real..... I'll have a youtube video up called "Ziebart - Rhino Lining and Full Rust Protection Coating Fail" up in about a week or two and you can check out all the stuff I'm talking about while I'm taking it off and cleaning their job. They have touchups that they do for free every year for the rust protection, which is very cool. But I'm a little apprehensive about bringing it back because I don't want the same thing to happen again. I'm not sure it would be worth it. I had high hopes for this procedure, and it sucks that its put a very bad taste in my mouth then it comes to Ziebart. read more

This resulted in me not only having to make the 30 minute drive again the next day which is inconvenient, but also not being able to get to work - due to not having a car. I understand people make mistakes and things happen, but the icing on the cake was that when I did arrive to get my car, after explaining over the phone the inconvenience (missing work?) that Ziebart had caused, I didn't even receive a minor apology, or even a "sorry but we really don't care." Ever since I paid for Ziebart protection on my 3 year old used car, I've wondered what the fine print was when it comes to the no-rust guarantee. This year, a small amount of blistering appeared at the base of the tailgate of our 2011 Ford Edge. So, when I made my yearly service appointment with the Binghamton Zeibart, I pointed out that I found some evidence of rust. At the beginning of the appointment, when the manager was walking around the car, I again pointed out the rust evidence. He immediately dismissed it as "caused by chips in the paint". When I challenged him that the blistering was caused by corrosion initiated from the inside of the tailgate (which would be covered by Ziebart), he said that it's not possible because Ford tailgates are made of aluminum. WRONG! The 2011 Ford Edge tailgate is made of steel, just like all of their cars' body panels. Either he's not well informed (he does work in the automotive industry, doesn't he?) or he's lying. To top it off, when I opted to just have the free yearly retouch and refused to pay extra for a "buffing" of the paint, he suddenly turned from a nice, customer oriented representative of the Zeibart brand, to an abrupt, dismissive sales guy (frankly, a jerk!). I guess I'll use another Ziebart shop next year, let's see how that goes. read more

I have have been taking my cars to Ziebart for 4 years for the free inspection. I have found that the undercoat/rustproofing maybe a good investment on a new car if you plan on keeping it 5 to 10 years. All the other after market services Ziebart offers is a rip off even at half the price they advertise, $300.00 car wash, $500.00 wax job. The same lame sales pitch every year is making it more and more uncomfortable to bring my cars back for inspection.They could also stand to put in a new clean bathroom. After spending more than my share of time in their waiting room my observation is they could use new management shake up, they are pretty complacent. read more

Worst experience ever. Interior cleaning was a total ripoff, didn't look like anything had been done at all. Did touch up paint after car had been waxed so now the touch up paint shows up terribly and decreases the value of the vehicle. Undercoating never done on the parts of a vehicle that rust. I Just Bought a brand new Subaru Outback and within the first few weeks it was scratched, up the front bumper and across the hood. I went to at least 8 other places and they all gave me the same basic deal, it was going to cost me over 800$ to get it fixed, so because I love my new Subaru I resigned myself to paying it, but I figured I would do something to prevent future damage and so I went to Ziebart to ask about their clear shield. I told them about the issue and they went out to take a look and the rep said hang on 1 sec, he came back like a half a minute later with some compound and a rag and poof no more scratch! They didn't charge a thing! They saved me from an 800+ dollar cost to repair my new car! To make things better they didn't ask for anything from me! They were just happy to help! Truly a great company! I can't believe people go else ware to get things like this taken care of! I have never been treated better anyplace else! read more
