6 Pieces Pan Fried Pork Dumplings
    Kay A.

The food here was average at best. The dumplings were a bit over fried. The chicken ramen broth lacked flavor and the meat a bit tough. I think because they offer a mix of many different Asian cuisines, perhaps some they do better than others.

I frequent this establishment quite a bit and I must say that I am impressed every time. Their food is very fresh and their service is amazing. They're very intentive. They're very nice and they know their business well. It's a very cute establishment as well with a lot of different ambience that are amazing to look at. The one thing that I've come to really enjoy there is the wonton soup, which is absolutely amazing. I love the flavor. I love how much you get for the price. It's an overall pleasant experience. If you're ever in the area, give it a try. Thank you so much for listening.

Omg, this place has the very best Asian food ever!! We got sesame chicken, honey walnut chicken, seaweed salad, vegetable lomein, crab Rangoons....so flavorful and delicious!! This is my new Asian restaurant!! Ordered on line and picked up. Their chef's are so talented!! Great portions and yumminess, worth the drive for sure!! You can enjoy the dine in, but with TBI that's not an option. Clean place with parking lot and bathroom. Individuals working the to go orders are friendly, kind and respectful. Love this place!!

Not the best Chinese food I've ever had but not the worst either. My husband and I got take out. I ordered the Sesame Chicken combo and upgraded to pork lo mein: the chicken was good but the lo mein lacked flavor and the pork strips tasted old or like it was sitting for a while before being tossed into the noodles. My husband got the bourbon chicken with pork fried rice. It was LOADED with peppers and onions and unfortunately the peppers overpowered the taste of the bourbon chicken. The pork fried right was overcooked and lacked flavor as well. When picking up the order, the staff was very friendly.

We really enjoy dining in at Zhu's, the staff is do nice and it's a very comfortable atmosphere. We always order the Szechuan Wonton, tender wontons with a spicy peanut sauce and refreshing cucumber slices. My favorite meal is the Triple Delight in garlic sauce, which includes shrimp, chicken and roasted pork with fresh vegetables in a spicy garlic sauce. We've ordered takeout and everything was just as good as dining in, but you don't get the same friendly faces that you get when dining in.

I just ordered Roasted Pork Spicy Basil Fried Rice and Pork Dumplings, the Food is Fantastic. Looked Good and I got it pretty Quickly. Pork is so Tender and it's really Good, will definitely think about ordering again.

Lunch broccoli. Won't sub tofu for meat. Too greasy and salty. But good price point. $9

I had lunch on my day off really looking forward it. First, they will not substitute tofu for any meat on the lunch menu. This left me with vegetables, which is fine. But my broccoli was very greasy and overly salty (trust me I love salt!). The fried rice had too much soy sauce. Nice service and atmosphere. The price was right at $9 total. Still, better options out there for vegetarians.

Updated review...I mentioned that my family's dishes seemed surprisingly hot/spicy. They were indicated as hot with a pepper on the menu, so it's my bad. Also, I should add that NONE OF THE 12 PEOPLE IN OUR GROUP GOT SICK BECAUSE OF EATING @ ZHU's (as indicated in only other review on Yelp.)

sub par food - If you are starving it will suffice but then again there are other places you can go to.

We had other plans for Thanksgiving, but after all the driving around, both of us were too tired to…read moredo anything but call around looking for something good and open in Albany. On my short list of Chinese restaurants to try was Ocean Palace, and thankfully, they picked up right away. This was our first visit, and we will probably be going back. There were quite a few customers, but the place has an airy feel that was quite comfortable. Lots of windows, comfortable tables, and a very calm feel to it. Staff here was great: attentive and friendly, and very accepting of my ridiculous enthusiasm for soup dumplings. :) We lived in NYC for 30+ years, and a considerable number of my dining out experiences were weekend mornings in Chinatown in Manhattan (sorry, no experience with Flushing). We've eaten a lot of dim sum over the years, so we started with a dim-sum-esque variety (the edamame dumplings in veg broth were very good, but the spring rolls were too oily), then my husband ordered baby bok choy and shitake mushrooms, beautifully presented and which he loved. But me? I ordered a *second* steamer of soup dumplings. Yes, my Thx dinner was almost entirely soup dumplings, and I'd do it again next year (don't tell my grandma). The soup in the dumpling and the meat filling were excellent. The *ONLY* quibble I have is that the wrapper was thick, almost doughy. The regular steamed vegetable dumplings had very thin wrappers, much more what I was expecting. The thickness made it much easier to get it into your spoon with chopsticks, but, again IMO, it put the proportions off. As is probably obvious, I'm neither a chef nor Chinese, or I'd have a much bigger frame of reference. There is also always a wide variety in how different families make their biscuits, etc. The food at Ocean Palace was not the best I've ever had, but it was very tasty, and though the soup dumplings were not perfect, I'd have them for lunch today again if I could.

Ok, it's definitely Peter Chan in the kitchen after my skepticism in previous update. I know this…read morebecause first, a regular customer came in and called out "hey Peter how you doin?" Second, because the hard working chef is once again quietly exerting his authority with small acts of independence. He brought out my lunch special himself but declined to give me a dinner plate (needed because the serving entirely covers the oval plate it was delivering on) and, once again, my pork with pickled cabbage had no pickled cabbage. Touche, Peter. The regular customer ordered items I would never consider, like walnut shrimp and egg foo young. But I'm sure it was still great, as was my no-pickles pork, as is everything Peter cooks. The guy is a gem. And he looks to be in good health after that mystery hiatus so I hope he'll be around awhile.

Honestly, this is like Chinese food from Utah back in 1980. It's THAT bloody backwards, this cooking. Really bad quality. I am hoping we finally get a Panda Express at the level served on the NJTp because that is 1000 times better than this...which is a very sad statement from this Washington DC girl. It's pretty hard to do worse than Panda ! The vegetables in the Hunan tasted canned and severely overcooked. The sauce was so "whitened" that it barely qualified as a sauce. It was weird, white sauce, nothing "hunan" about it, had a little heat but zero flavor, The steamed dumplings were a small wonton wrap with a filling and not even as good as that. Ugh. So very disappointing. Delivery was perfectly fine.

The crab rangoons tasted like sweetened cream cheese and were cooked a little long since they were darker in color. The general tso chicken itself was fine, but the rice was not good.
