I've been living at least a half hour away from any Chinese restaurant for the last 6 months and was so looking forward to a good Chinese take out. Yummy Yummy used to be so good. I was very disappointed tonight. Both dishes that we ordered had awful sauces. It was like a thickened soy sauce. I had Pork egg foo yong. The pancakes were good. The fried rice was a bit undercooked. The egg rolls seemed smaller than they used to be and less tasty. The worst was the sauce. A very dark almost thickened soy sauce. Not at all like the sauce that used to come with it. I had a few bites and threw out the rest. The other dish we ordered was Gen Tsao's Chicken. Once again the chicken was good. The sauce wasn't. Although they used to be very good, I don't think I'll bet another $19 to see if they've gotten any better in the future. read more

After running a few errands on a Sunday afternoon, I decided to stop for some Chinese food at Yummy Yummy, which is located in the 2727 Plaza across the street from Rollerama. This is a typical Chinese takeout place which is an order at the counter place with open kitchen and there's seating here for eating in. The menu offers the standard Chinese fare including Cantonese, Hunan, Szechuan, and Mandarin style dishes. The prices are fair, items priced $12 and less. 25 Luncheon Specials ($5.30-$5.90) with pork fried rice and soup or egg roll or soda are served Mon-Sat until 3PM and 28 Special Combination Dinners ($7.10-$7.70) with pork fried rice and egg roll are also offered. Since luncheon specials were not available on Sundays, I ended up ordering the C27 Shrimp LoMein Dinner Combination ($7.70 plus tax) for takeout. The food was cooked to order in under 10 minutes. The portion of food was good, but not overboard. The pork fried rice (light yellow color) was very basic and had onions and roast pork pieces. The lo mein dish had a mix of vegetables (cabbage, carrots, fresh mushrooms, snow peas, scallions) and soft shrimp (deveined) in firm noodles, slightly on the oily side. The lo mein was hot for the most part, but the shrimp were lukewarm. The egg roll was not greasy and had a firm thick wrapper (sweet taste), stuffed with minimal cabbage and minced pork. Don't confuse this for fine dining, but it is high quality convenience food that surpasses expectations in its category. Yummy Yummy is now a favorite among employees at my office because it delivers fresh, hand made meals quickly, courteously, and reliably. That's three stars by itself. Classic Chinese and in my opinion the best the the Rotterdam area. The rice and noodles are flavorful and light, dumplings and egg rolls are also not so heavy with dough and are tasty. I normally get the Beef and broccoli, Shrimp in Lobster sauce, or the sweet and sour chicken and they all top my chart and thankfully yummy yummy makes them right. Yummy yummy reminds me of Chinese food from back in NYC and I'm glad I found them. I just wish they delivered, so I don't have to settle on my #2 Chinese spot when I didn't want to drive. read more

I couldn't eat more than two pieces. Their rice was decent, but that was all I could eat. I LOVE eating here for lunch and dinner. Their luncheon specials are great and really yummy and you can also take it to go which is a great option. Dinner is also really good all food I've gotten here is so yummy and i always get my Chinese food here and I would totally recommend. I have been to this place lots of times. My family usually gets the golden chicken fingers, broccoli with beef, and white rice. It is really good every time. The golden chicken fingers are better then a lot of places cause there isnt just a little tiny piece of chicken with an extreme amount of breading around it. It never takes that long to get your food. I have my husband call in the order cause the women who answers the phone can be a little hard to understand sometimes. read more
