The location is a bit hard to find around side of the main buildings, it's a small place with tables and kinda a old style mom and pop place and that's pretty much how service is. I am guessing the owners are nice and they seem to be doing there best to serve people and cook at the same time. I would suggest ordering online and picking up, food pricing is about right, some of the drinks not so much and they are not geared towards high volume of orders. You start by using one of the 2 touch screens to order, and then grab a spot to sit. Out food came out pretty fast, but I saw some of the online order pickup places sitting at tables waiting on orders for 10 to 15 mins. The food was good, not bad , not great, but did the job. The rice didn't seem to be the standard rice I was used to being served. The 2.95 for a soda a bit of a sting for me and they had a mix of some other food types, not sure why they had pasta options. Would I go back and order Yes, over all not bad and I would almost say if they were located in a better location, they would do much better biz, but not sure if they could handle that much. I don't like to write reviews like this, but was really hoping, based on some reviews by others, this place was going to be better! I know this restaurant took over the "Birria taco" place that used to there (and they were not much better-at least they had good service). As soon as you walk in, you can see the open windows to the kitchen (which the other place had, but it looks like they put glass in it, so you can "pass thru" food like other place did). I saw a few people sitting at one of the long tables, and figured they were getting served. I looked around and saw the Juice machines to the right and a couple of large order type screens. Did not see any type of hostess stand (like last place had). I waited a few min and nobody came out from back or anything, and then, I saw, behind a large sign, somebody was sitting in a chair. It was a older gentlemen, and I said "I have a couple questions about your menu" (* I found info thru here, to find out what they had). Now, you would think, at this point, he would have got up and wanted to aide me and be a "little excited" to have a customer''...nope. He continued to sit in the chair and answered my questions. I asked if he took the order and he replied "No, you order off screens over there, and we will let you know when ready". Ok...very weird. I should have left then, but still thought I would give it a try. While I waited at the table, the group that was sitting, had a couple more people join then, and realized nobody was coming to "wait on them". So, one of them, did as I did, approached the guy in the chair, and asked how to order, and he replied the same. Again, weird. Then, a person came in, think to pick up an order (like thru Door Dash or something), and the guy was in the kitchen helping the one cook they had...you could see thru the window. The lady was was holding her phone and kept looking around to see if there was a spot for "pick up". She tried to approach the kitchen "door (like half swinging door) and both of the them never looked up. Finally, the guy came out with my food and she said she was there for a "pick up" and he told her, "just a few more mintutes". When I got home, and actually tried the food, it did not get better. I got hummus and pita bread. The hummus had not much flavor, with oil and couple of chick peas on top (did not help). The pita bread was very thin and flat and cut into small triangles. My husband got the two chicken kabobs (*one was cut chicken and one was ground chicken) with rice....both were just ok. I had the Two Beef Koobideh Skewers, and was dry and not much flavor. The rice, I had to add Siracha to, as it was dry too. I am sorry, but with many other Mediterranean restaurants in the area, I won't be back to this one :(! read more

I'm always excited when a new restaurant a little out of the ordinary opens in my area. In this case, it was a little far from my neighborhood, but Mediterranean and Persian food holds a special place in my heart and taste buds. And with all the bad things happening in the world, I was happy to patron a Persian place. The place is not one you will find by accident, it's a bit hidden in a mixed business area next to a church and some car mechanic place. Inside is simple, with a few tables, some communal, some not. They put two tablets in the front to order, and they work well and have easy to understand pictures of the food. That way, they don't need a host stand or a waiter which helps keep costs down. In the back, 3 men are busy cooking the food and bring it to your table. We tried 4 things. Mast-o-khiar, which is the cucumber yogurt salad. Very refreshing. Kashkeh Bademjan, which is an Iranian dish with eggplant and various other things. This was delicious and my wife's favorite. Two Beef Koobideh Skewers Lamb Koobideh Skewer Both skewers were nice and tender, well seasoned and served with a beautiful long grain rice and 2 roasted tomatoes. My favorite was the lamb. In the table, you have sumac to add flavor of you need it. Overall, a very pleasant lunch. We will be back. read more

I love this Persian restaurant, their kabob koobideh and joojeh are delicious and by far best deal in Austin. I always stop by here during work lunch time and take some home back to downtown because Im far from here. Also their Staff are so friendly and nice. read more

Really good, casually served Persian favorites at reasonable prices. The Chef Owner served us himself and he was most helpful explaining the menu items that we had questions about.The place is nice little cafe on the end of an industrial strip center. Ordered pickup because saw it was new place nearby. But didn't like it too much, food was bland and won't be back. We got gyro, two kabob plates and a salad. One of the salads had a bitter cucumber in it. I wish it had olives. The gyro wasn't very good. The rice didn't have much flavor. Kids liked the kabobs though. read more

You absolutely must try Zeytun. Everything is authentic. The kabobs are huge and delicious. I loved the chicken. All of the food was made fresh. The tzatziki and hummus are so good! The owner is so kind and explained all of the dishes to us and made recommendations on what to order. The portions were very generous with plenty to share on the lunch specials. I had a great experience with a takeout order from Zeytun Mediterranean Grill. I ordered the beef koobideh which was incredibly tender and flavorful. It came with rice and tomato garnish. I also ordered the hummus and pita; everything tasted very fresh. The portions are generous--I definitely have enough left over for a second meal! This place is fabulous. The food is fresh, flavorful, and fast. You really feel like part of the family when you come here -- there are large tables and you feel like you're at your aunt's house. We got the lunch special for 4 which included hummus, tzatziki, pita, salad, chicken and beef, plus rice. We also got to try the fresh cucumber mint apple juice. Wow, this order looked amazing when it got here after 30 minute drive it was still hot and fresh wrapped really well. Great packaging. We enjoyed the food, we got a beef and chicken family pack with some sides. We did feel like it needed more salt and zest like lemon, just a little more seasoning and it would be perfect. Stopped in after reading about the stores opening in the local paper. The food was fresh and felt homemade. The chicken kabobs I got for lunch had a deep marinade that made every bite juicy and flavorful. Not only was the food tasty, but the customer service was superb, felt like I was getting everything taken care of the second I walked in! I order Combo Kabob plate. It was missing the salad. Hummus came in 2oz plastic container filled a lil more than halfway. It was homemade though & great taste!. Same for yogurt sauce! Chicken kabobs appeared to be half the amount of what the pic online displayed but flavor was good. Beef koobideh wasn't as flavorful, just ok. Pita bread didn't appear to be homemade. Falafel was very flavorful but I noticed 2 in the middle hiding half the size as the outer few..I was surprised at the small portions for almost 40$. I woukd overall give it a 3 star. read more

We went there during soft opening. Oh boy, we were in for a treat with the family pack we ordered - 4 kebab skeweres, rice, hummus and tzatziki, with complementary salad(not sure if this will remain after the grand opening) Juicy chicken kebabs were with fresh meat and authentic persian flavors that melt in your mouth. The lamb koobideh were my son's favorite along with tzatziki. I dont like the smell of lamb, gamey texture but these kebabs did not have either, Once again tasting fresh and flavored just right without overpowering the meat. Probably the first place i loved the lamb kebabs. Hummus was also good and fresh, you can tell when they don't add a ton of lime to keep it fresh for long. One would think what is there to say about rice but still cooking rice that doesn't stick and separates like pearls is not an easy task which mediterranean restaurants accomplish through quality and precise process. We also had leftovers to take home for dinner. The owner was kind to givve some extra tzatziki sauce and pita complimentary since my son complimented that he really liked. Last but not the least, friendly and nice owner who takes pride in the quality and taste of food he serves, but also open to feedback. Nice friendly mom and pop shop ambience. read more
