I very rarely use SkipTheDishes because of their price inflation, but here I was, desperate for lunch. I am very happy to say that my Grilled Lemongrass Chicken and Pork Vermicelli was very tasty. The total cost was a devastating $29.86. But that's not the restaurants fault. It was $21.25 for the meal, $1.99 for delivery, $4.77 in taxes and a $2.55 tip for the driver. Now if I had gone and picked it up, it would have been only $18.82 with tax. Needles to say, Skip inflates food prices 20%. But on a positive note, my meal was amazing. Very filling, you will get your moneys worth and it was extremely tasty. I'm very happy with the amount of sauce they provided. I also need their recipe! I'm not a huge spring roll fan. But their spring rolls were the best I've ever had. I need their secret! Such flavourful meat and sauce. I want to visit them in person if I get a chance.

This was my first trip to Regina and man, am I glad my wife and I came here to eat. Everything from…read morethe food and cocktails to the service to the general decor and vibe of this place were superb. My wife was celebrating her birthday so we indulged in a chef curated four course meal with wine and cocktail pairings and everything was an absolute hit. For our meal, the courses were structured with a few appetizers for the first course, a pasta dish for the second, a fish entree (I requested no red meats) and then a dessert to top it all off. Our appetizers included the house whipped ricotta, the heirloom tomato and compressed melon salad and the seared albacore tuna. I have to say, I've never had melon as good as the melon in the tomato and melon salad. The depth of flavor they achieved with by compressing it with oils and herbs was remarkable, I would come back for that alone and I normally don't like melon. The seared tuna was exceptional, as was the whipped ricotta. All of this was paired with a light sparkling citrus cocktail, which I unfortunately cannot remember what it had in it, but it was my personal favorite of the night. For the pasta course, we had an agnolotti pasta that was filled with what I believe was a delicious ricotta filling and a light tomato sauce, paired with a Cabernet Sauvignon. The pasta was cooked perfectly, the sauce was fresh and herbaceous and it was the right amount to leave you satisfied, but not feeling too full. The cab sauv wasn't over oaked, like most California cabs, but still had that traditional peppery cab sauv taste that paired so well with the pasta sauce. Our main entree was the la ronge walleye paired with a Sauvignon Blanc. The walleye and potatoes were delicious, however I did feel like the fish was overpowered by the spring pea velouté, which was unfortunate but personally, I'm not a massive fan of peas. However, if you like them, this is a great option and the quality of the walleye was top notch. The dessert course was a pistachio & coffee semifreddo with boozy cherries and the cocktail I would describe as sort of a play on an espresso martini, but way better. Both were fantastic! I was really able to detect the pistachio, which I assumed would be masked by the coffee, but I was pleasantly surprised. On top of that, we were also generously given an order of the madeleines for my wife's birthday and we absolutely adored them. They had a light citrus note to them that really enhanced the flavor. Our server was also excellent and very kind. We told him we were from the US and it was our first time in Regina and he gave us a bunch of recommendations for things to check out around the area. The four course meal and cocktails were a wonderful value for the price, I would highly recommend it and I'm excited to come here again!

For food, my boyfriend ordered the BBQ Pulled Pork Burger ($21) with French onion soup ($7.5). I ordered the Bacon Mushroom Swiss Burger ($22) with Truffle Fries ($3), a white sangria ($10.5) and crème brûlée ($8) with strawberry compote for dessert. Prices are before tax and tip. The BBQ Pulled Pork Burger and french onion soup were alright. The sangria was absolutely delicious! I highly suggest it. I absolutely loved the mix of peach, pear and orange juice. The crème brûlée was extremely delicious. Best in Regina. Seriously ! And the Keg charges the same price for a THIRD of what Lancaster is offering. I also think their recipe at Lancaster is better. The truffle fries were decent. They were cold unfortunately but I was with a rather large group so I'm not going to fault them for it entirely. I actually think they would have been awesome if they were cooked a little warmer, a little crispier and didn't come with the sauce. I prefer a garlic, truffle and Parmesan flavour for the type of fries. The burger itself was actually pretty good. If it had been warmer, I think the patty itself would have been moister. That being say, it tasted fresh. Honestly I was wondering if it was mixed with bison because of the flavour. I throughly enjoy a gamey flavour and this burger had hints of it. Honestly, this burger is very close to being the best burger in Regina that I've ever had. I want to return and get a genuine sit down dinner experience with no more than 4 people. This place has the potential to produce the best burger in the city!

The staff did a great job considering two large groups walked in at the same time on a Saturday afternoon when it's supposed to be slow. They called someone in early and tried to catch up. I was a little bit behind the group so I got missed for my initial drink order and had to order at the bar. Understandable. The server got me for the next round and for my food order. I grabbed their pretzels which was HUGE. Definitely want to share this dish. They have a great cocktail list. My first round was a beer, but my second beverage was their twist on a dark and stormy. Delicious!

Figured a place…read morethat bills itself as a dim sum restaurant would be able to make a classic Chinese noodle dish with no problem. Did I ever guess wrong. This dish is traditionally made with rice noodles, with bean sprouts and some onion or scallions as an accompaniment. As my photo will attest, this version was served with sweet peppers, a little onion, and napa cabbage. As I was eating it, I noticed just a few pieces of beef, and very little in the way of noodles. The meal itself was incredibly bland, requiring a huge splash of siracha and soy sauce to give it some flavour. It took me less than 5 minutes to pick through all the meat and noodles, and the dish had to have been over 70% vegetables. Service was extremely lacking. Only two other tables in the restaurant, and a simple dish like this took nearly 20 minutes to come to my table. Wait staff never bothered to come by to ask how the meal was or clear the table, as I just got up and paid for the meal. Cashier didn't respond to my comment that my meal wasn't what I was expecting. Don't recommend this place to anyone and certainly won't be returning.

Although not comparable to the dimsum you can get in larger cities like Toronto / Vancouver, this was a fairly authentic restaurant and I enjoyed the majority of the dishes. Definitely recommend the beef tripe and the fried squid, some of the best I've had! Congee could have used a bit more salt and the turnip cakes were slightly burnt, but overall very tasty. **I want to address the only 1-star review this place has, because POC / Asian restaurants consistently have lower ratings on Yelp and these people are part of the problem. This reviewer clearly ordered a 'spicy' soup, and upon discovering that it was indeed 'spicy,' wanted a replacement. Then she was upset when she was charged for the price of two bowls, although there was nothing wrong with the first one (I would understand if a hair was found etc). Also, when the server brought the soup re-cooked as more mild, the reviewer said it was 'total bull' without even trying it. Lastly, wontons with meat is a perfectly normal description on a Chinese menu - her suggestion that 'maybe it's cat' is frankly quite racist and tone-deaf. I'm disappointed in how the Yelp community treats local Asian restaurants and hope that we can all work towards more unbiased and authentic reviews as a whole. Cheers!
