I am creating a Yelp account just so that I can post a review of this incredible restaurant/bakery in the heart of Ennis. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming from the minute you step inside, and tasty-looking homemade goods like Matcha Irish Porridge and specialty chocolates line the walls. There is even a small bookshelf for borrowing and lending books, making it a perfect rainy day spot for curling up with a good read.
Now for the food. When I visited, I ordered the soup-and-salad combo for 6.95 euros, and got sweet potato chili soup with kale and edamame salad. Now I am not exaggerating when I say that this was some of the best soup I've ever had in my life - rich and creamy, with just the right amount of heat. The salad was also amazing, both healthy and very delicious (and much more filling than it appears). They even let you fill your own bowl with as much of the salad as you want. The soup also came with two thick slices of delicious bread that were just perfect for dipping. After finishing my meal, I ordered a small coffee with peppermint syrup (you can ask for any of their syrups free of charge!), and was treated to a complimentary gingerbread biscuit with my drink.
All in all, this was a phenomenal lunch/coffee/bakery spot. I didn't order a pastry (I was too full at that point), but every single one looked mouth-wateringly good. Whether you're stopping in for a short visit or happen to live nearby, this is MUST-VISIT place! read more
