Love this bakery . It's my go to , live their hrs they're open from 6am. I can pickup a cake before heading to work for when we're celebrating someone's bday or whatever the ocassion.But unfortunately the last time I oicked up my usual red velvet it felt like the quality of the cake wasn't there. It didn't taste as good. I got it for my husband birthday like always do and he also felt like it wasn't as good. I'm willing to try again because that's my go to bakery even though I've moved to westchester but got friends and family still in the BX. Service has always been nice. Usually young girls always willing to help. I like that you could be in and out as there's meter parking

My favorite bakery in all of NYC!!! So lucky I live nearby. I can go on and on, but some of my favorites include: ricotta cheesecake, served usually just at Christmas and Easter if lucky; cannoli, red velvet and chocolate cakes; so many pastries; and, also, delicious bread. I come here for all my family's birthday cakes, every special occasion,n and also just on weekends for the fun of it. The staff is also lovely and sweet and the bakery feels like such a source of joy and energy in the neighborhood.

I love this bakery located in the Pelham Bay section of the Bronx. They have some of the best Italian cookies, cakes, and pastries. They also make custom cakes and are always prepared for every holiday with beautiful themed cakes and cupcakes. One of my favorite go to places when I have a sweet tooth. I've passed this place a gazillion times and never thought to walk in here. But on this day, for my single girlfriends Galantines Day Brunch, I promised dessert. I recall my girl Mercedes and Jason M. from Yelp purchasing from here, so I followed suit. Walking in, I was overwhelmed by the options which were plentiful. I only recognized the Lobster Tails from having my first and best ever Lobster Tail from Ferrara Bakery during a City Walking Tour. Anyway, my experience with the young lady serving me this early Sunday morning was pleasant and helpful. I mentioned it was my first time here, so she patiently waited while I made my choices. No rushing or coaxing was involved, so I'll take the blame leaving with 3 boxes of goodies totaling $30.00...well worth it. Everyone enjoyed everything. Though the best out of the bunch to me was the big puffy creamy thing. I think it's called St. Joseph's? Their Lobster Tails were no Ferrara, but good enough for this Galantines date and maybe for my next visit. TIP: Come early on Sundays. There will be a line Parking. Atrocious. DINERO en efectivo ONLY. It happened to me when I was about to pay for 2, 1/2lb boxes of cookies in one, pastries in another. But I made a mad dash right next door to a Chase and get cash. Zeppieri is a longstanding institution that has dominated the Pelham Bay Area in The Bronx underneath the 6 line for a very long time. Since I had picked up lunch across the street, I knew this would be the perfect time to stop in here. The moment you walk in here, the sweet but delicate scent surrounds you. Whether you're looking for freshly baked bread loaves or rolls, cookies, pastries, and so much more, for a couple dollars- this is the place. Zeppieri showcases their pastries and cookies on several glass counters. I picked some mini cannolis for my mom, Napoleons, Cream Puffs, etc. I on the other hand, picked mostly chocolate stuffed star cookies, Linzer ones and the long-type, jelly stuffed cookies also in chocolate. For the life of me, I've put Zeppieri off my radar so many times and coming here was a nice dessert ending. Service was pleasant and the young lady taking my order wasn't huffing and puffing because I didn't have any cash- and was kind enough to wait for me...Gracias!

My daughters first birthday was a complete success because of their cake! Literally everyone loved it and complimented it all day. I ordered a two-tier custom cake a little less then 2 weeks before her birthday and it was no problem. I did one tier cannoli, and the second chocolate mousse. The cake is everything I asked for and so beautiful. The baker was so accommodating and listened to everything I wanted. When everyone was done eating their cake,they all wanted to know the bakery I got it from. You will not be disappointed if you go here, and prices are spectacular! read more

My husband purchased 2 "sugar free" apple turnovers for dessert last night. We're both diabetics. I took one bite .... the apples were black! Needless to say, we threw them out. We are so surprised because other than the turnovers Zeppieri's is usually good. Hopefully, they use fresh ingredients. read more

nothing was bad here- but unfortunately I was given wrong items when there really was no one else in the store so i'm not sure what happened :( I was super looking forward to a napoleon and opened my box to a cannoli. got carrot cake which was the star of the show. would maybe return but really watch as my orders being completed. also weirdly annoyed me none of my boxes were properly closed read more

Oh my...have the times changed and so has this bakery! Sugary and then some! As for counter girls, what would it cost for them to shed a smile? Giving them 2 stars just because I have fond memories of this place in the late 90s as serving exceptional italian delicacies. 30 years later this place stands far from that! read more

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE. This place has the BEST cookies and cannoli. Don't even get me started on how good the cake is! I buy the mocha cake even when no event is happening. Every birthday and special event you best believe that I'm buying desserts from Zeppieri.No other bakery can compete with this. The service is so fast and they get straight to the point. This bakery is close to my house and it's decent enough to get cookies and pastries when I can't get my Arthur Ave. fix. And their prices are very responsible. I think you can get a pound of cookies for like 10 bucks. They aren't the best, but this will do if you can't get to Morris Park or Arthur Ave. The parking situation around here is not ideal either. read more

This bakery has been around since I was a prepubescent boy (actually a lot longer). I always walk in and I am greeted by young women behind the counter (I don't remember seeing a man back there). I've ordered fresh Italian bread loaves, rainbow cookies (those tri-colored ones), canolis (large, mini, regular, chocolate cream, chocolate dipped shells, any combination of cream filling and shell) and Napoleon cakes. I remember the Napoleon cake since my 10th birthday. Many years later the cake is still awesome! They make these to order. I order usually two days in advance and it is about $25 for a quarter sheet (the smallest size). You are allowed to customize you message. My most memorable one I have had done was "Happy Birthday, Gaylord Focker" (my brother was in nursing school at the time). Otherwise I get the standard boring message. If you have never heard of Napoleon cake and want to try something, this is it. It's rich but will receive high marks. IFHTP 3+ read more

Drove up from Bridgeport,Ct today.Found out about bakery years ago,while eating at the famous Joe Nina,s italian restaurant.My favorite pastry are the large sfogiatelle.I heat them when I get home.They are mouth watering.Also the almond biscotti are delicious.Girls behind the counter are terrific.Its always busy.My favorite bakery in the Bronx. read more

Best bakery in pelham bay, the best rainbow cookies and saint Joseph pastries. This place is cash only, and the prices are MUCH better than any other bakery. Literally a quarter of the prices you'll pay in Westchester and these are much fresher and if better quality. A true Italian bakery that I hope to see in years to come. read more

my first time at zepps bakery on westchester ave and from the taste of the cookies , cakes , pies , pastries , etc , it won't be the last. it's a bit overwhelming when you enter the shop cause you want it all but i got my list and i will stick to it as i gotta get 2_dozen mix minis pastries , one apple pie and a whole traditional italian cheese cake. all baking done on premises and gals working behind the counter are moving quickly dealing with us customers . parking is not easy especially on sunday but if you wait a bit a spot will pop up . no complaints or negative comments about the sweets i brought to my guys during sunday football and i must admit it's revolting to see grown dudes eat like slobs . my personal favorite were the mini cream puffs and mini eclairs as i shoved many in my mouth. i will be back in 2 weeks to pick up a birthday cake for my slacker buddy and then some . read more

My son gets to choose one cookie from time to time before heading home from school. The cakes are delicious and fresh, and the girls are always super nice here. There is always a small crowd gathered by the counter but it moves very quickly. No complaints! read more

The girls who clearly have had only this place as work experience since highschool are just rude and always look miserable, not sure if they are being treated wrong or they are just bringing their personal problems to work, either way every time I have gone I NEVER feel welcome. Stop in there after visiting a business near by for business reasons stop in this bakery for a cheese ring for family and some St Joesph pastry to take home and "WOW" What did I just eat it was Amazing so fresh so tasty that now I am forced to make this trip from westchester county from now on for this bakery It was delicious read more

I sampled three of my fave mini pastries from two places this past Sunday. A cream puff, an eclair and a powdered raspberry cookie. Here I bought two cookies and one cream puff. The puff was filled with ricotta. And it was divine! The cookies on the other hand were dry, crumbly and the preserves seemed lacking. Even more, I was really really hungry. Usually at that point anything tastes good but the cookies could use some help. Stick with the canolli's and other ricotta filled goods. read more

Been here for ages - the best rolls/ bread in the area by far - pastries are awesome, bagels, fresh daily donuts all great - choose cookies carefully - look for fresh baked ones (some old and dry) - ask the girls - they are always honest - overall - great place to have in area - daily cakes good, strawberry shortcake and cream pies are very good too !! daily/holiday specials a sure bet to be fresh and delicious best canoli creme - in cake, pastry or anything ! read more

I'm a big fan of the sfogliatelle and cannoli that Zeppieri make. It's a solid bakery for these types of products, as well as bread. I do not think I would be going there for cakes or cookies but for italian pastries they are very good. In fact I prefer them over the places on Arthur Avenue. Great prices, too. read more

I remember when Conties would price the specialty cheesecakes to $30-$35 max. a 12inch pistatchio cheesecake is $46???? i know for a fact the employees dont get paid enough for the price of a cheesecake to increase that dramatically. one of the girls said the pies/cakes are made a week before they're sold, so the price on soon to expire pastries is insane. for $46 dollars I can get a larger and better quality cheesecake in Manhattan. The ladies behind the counter look unhappy and find every request to be inconvenient. this place is definitely ripping you off. UPDATE: I opened the box of cookies for my friend, she reached for the first cookie and as soon as she took a bite, she pulled out a blond hair from the cookie. $22 dollars for cookies full of hair. I'm never going back.
