I will not continue with this doctor even though she came highly recommended. She may be wonderful with children but her interaction with me as a parent is unsupportive and judgmental. Any information I have received from her, frankly, seems rather old school. I get the sense that she is quick to judge, overconfident in her assumptions, and the ability to truly listen isn't in her skill set.

My first couple of years there I did have some serious issues with one of the front desk staff, she was just very rude and unprofessional. However, it seems like she is no longer working there and the front desk staff is great! Isidra is always so helpful. I now bring my two children here, and I am very happy with them. Sometimes their is a wait but they are always willing to accommodate last minute schedule changes, so I totally understand. Will continue to come here as long as I live in the area.

She went on to tell me that the "look on my face" tells her that I'm upset and that it's not her fault. Never said it was her fault, but am I not allowed to have a disappointed look on my face? I asked her why the look on my face was so offensive to her when we were the ones that traveled across town taking off from work and school just to make an appointment? At this point I was just ready to leave. I just wanted a school note for my kid to justify his lateness. She asked if I wanted to reschedule the appointment, but her rude disposition mad me feel questionable about the doctor's care so I declined. She then said in order to get the school note, I needed to make an additional appointment. So I agreed to make an additional appointment in order to get the note. She then because aggressive with me (I honestly think she was high on drugs) telling me I'm just making an appointment in order to get the school letter. At that, I asked her why was she treating me this way as a medical professional and I'm here with my child who was visibly ill. And she couldn't give me an answer. Based on the treatment from this secretary alone in the presence of my sick child, I would never go to this doctor's office again.

If you're looking for a stuffy, black suit, well-sanitized (not in a sense of cleanliness, but ... emotional?) ambiance - this may not be the place for you. Here, although my blood pressure was high, I felt very relaxed. I even shared a few laughs with other patients! I highly, highly recommend Proxi medical for any urgent care.

The superior administration, billing, reply rate, and cautious medical advice are all peace of mind. Dr. Sverkunova has indeed excellent bedside manner as do all her tech and admin staff. The careful happy attitude puts our kids at ease. They have the full set of vaccines on hand and are very astute at taking blood in a way kids enjoy. Their attitude is the kids' attitude, as in such affairs. Intake since we were 3 new patients took a bit, but their professionalism pairs well with mine with the note about how the insurer failed to change the PCP despite my telling them to do so 3mos ago so we got that solved together. Then the rest, the immunization pull-up from the city, the inputting and comparison of prior medical records from that old awful pediatrician (who I'm surprised could or would even send the medical records), and overall EMR syncing all were done finely. The physical space is very cramped so thankfully only 3 families are in the waiting room at once with most patients sanely waiting outside and the doctors rooms are also quite small but that's ok since time spent in there is efficient and minimum. Maintenance and sanitary quality are all tops with very clean, cared for surfaces, important in such times. The quality of the medical care is the best and for that, we are so happy to be with Dr. Sverkunova and staff.

Parking can sometimes be challenging as the neighborhood is residential, but spots do open up and I have never had an issue getting one. The block that the office is on has free parking, however the block north of it is metered, which typically results in many open spaces. If both parents are coming to visit, it's very easy to find a spot to pull over and have one parent go in while the other waits in the car, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic when only one parent is allowed in. We have seen multiple doctors here now (Glaser, Mesnick, Papageorge, Sundel) and all of them have been great to us and our child. We love the care and sound medical advice that they have provided up till this point and they have been very informative and open to answering all of the questions we have ever had. We have brought our child in to see Dr. Mesnick a few times now, as she is our go to pediatrician going forward, and she has always handled our child with care and caution. We also love that she is super kind, down to Earth in her approach and shows emotions of warmth to our baby. The staff is also very helpful and easy to work with. Since we have been coming here during the COVID-19 pandemic, the staff has been taking the temperatures of parents and patients and giving safety protocol questionnaires to patient arrivals. We have no complaints up till now and we don't have any reason to have any. We will definitely be staying with Slope Pediatrics for as long as everything works out for our baby.

The line to enter was essentially down the block but I didn't let this discourage me from getting tested since I really wanted to know what my status was seeing that I was exuding symptoms (12/19). I actually had my lawn chair with me the first time around to prevent from standing on line for a long period of time. Each time the wait time was about two hours before actually getting inside to get tested. Once inside, the process of checking in is pretty seamless. When it's your first time there, you must fill out a one-sided form which is standard. After being an established patient, it's simply a matter of stating your name and date of birth. You stand in line for a little longer before actually getting swabbed. You're asked to wait outside for about 20 minutes to obtain a physical copy of your results. From my experiences here the staff is pretty kind and patient despite the anxious people who are on liine for a long period of time. Be aware of people who try to skip in order to "ask a question"! All in all, be kind and give the staff a break, they're doing the best that they can to assure that everyone's accommodated for. I won't be back here anytime soon since I'm a Healthcare worker and my job provides PCR testing (Saliva) where the results are populated the very next day.

However, it is my last visit that I'd like to highlight. I'm a little over 7 months and am a first time mom. As anyone who is pregnant or ever has been can attest, there's a lot of weirdness that is happening with your body and health. A lot of things are considered common and/or normal. So it's hard to know when one should worry or when something is normal. Prior to my visit, I was throwing up multiple times a day. I couldn't keep any food down at all. I'd be woken up from my sleep just to vomit. If I wasn't full out vomiting, I was gagging and choking on acid and bile. I thought it was bad heartburn and acid reflux. At my OB I complained about what was happening to me. They gave me a list of things to try and take. None of it stopped the multiple times of daily vomiting, heartburn, and then the respiratory issues that came as a result. Nothing I tried worked. I tried to drink water, electrolytes, eat bland. No matter what I did I'd throw everything up multiple times in the day. Needless to say, I was so weak, felt awful, and exhausted. My OB wanted me to rule out COVID. I headed to Kamin to get tested for COVID, and see if there was anything else I could do. When I arrived I was greeted by two young women, Katarina and Nechama. They were both lovely, so helpful, and very comforting. I felt like I was going crazy due to how sick I've been, and they were amazing with normalizing what was happening with me. Katarina tested me for COVID, RSV and the Flu. And updated the PA, Alicia. Alicia came in, listened to what I had experienced, and examined me. She confidently diagnosed me with Hyperemesis Gravidarum, a severe form of morning sickness. And explained in depth what HG is. She started me on fluids due to my dehydration, and gave me anti-nausea/vomiting pill. I'm telling you the relief was immediately felt! I literally could feel my strength coming back and the need to vomit decreasing. When my treatment was done, Alicia and Katarina noted my demeanor change. And I confirmed how good I felt. Alicia gave me a prescription for the anti-nausea/vomiting meds and told me to come back anytime I felt dehydrated. I was so excited to go back home as I was sure I'd finally get an uninterrupted night's sleep. I have to point out that there is a maternal health crisis among Black birthing people. So it meant the world to me, as a Black woman to not just be taken seriously in regards to my health, but also being treated with so much care and attention. I am so grateful for the team at Kamin who saw me that night!
