So far, my wife and I love this location as our child's pediatrician office. For parents that live in Brooklyn, but do not want to trek all the way to Manhattan for their children's doctor appointments, this is a perfect location in Park Slope that will save you a lot of time, especially if NYU Langone has always been your hospital of choice. Parking can sometimes be challenging as the neighborhood is residential, but spots do open up and I have never had an issue getting one. The block that the office is on has free parking, however the block north of it is metered, which typically results in many open spaces. If both parents are coming to visit, it's very easy to find a spot to pull over and have one parent go in while the other waits in the car, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic when only one parent is allowed in. We have seen multiple doctors here now (Glaser, Mesnick, Papageorge, Sundel) and all of them have been great to us and our child. We love the care and sound medical advice that they have provided up till this point and they have been very informative and open to answering all of the questions we have ever had. We have brought our child in to see Dr. Mesnick a few times now, as she is our go to pediatrician going forward, and she has always handled our child with care and caution. We also love that she is super kind, down to Earth in her approach and shows emotions of warmth to our baby. The staff is also very helpful and easy to work with. Since we have been coming here during the COVID-19 pandemic, the staff has been taking the temperatures of parents and patients and giving safety protocol questionnaires to patient arrivals. We have no complaints up till now and we don't have any reason to have any. We will definitely be staying with Slope Pediatrics for as long as everything works out for our baby. read more

I was a patient of Dr. Glaser's back when she still shared a practice with Dr. Phillipa Gordon, from middle school up until I turned 21. When I gave birth to my son, I was excited to use them as his pediatricians. Until he ended up with a high fever when he was just under two months old, that is. Dr. Glaser examined my poor listless, lethargic baby, and decided that we would need to go to the ER for further tests. She suspected a few things, a UTI being one of them, and placed a plastic bag with adhesive over his genital area in order to collect a urine sample. Everything happened rather quickly, and I was in quite a panic, being a new mom and being told that I would have to bring my first baby to the ER! She told me that she called ahead and made arrangements and that we should go to Brooklyn Hospital for some tests, and ask for Dr. So-and-so (I can't remember her name). We went to the hospital immediately after leaving her office. First of all, of all the hospitals that she could have sent us to, I don't know why Brooklyn Hospital was the one that she picked. The place was dirty, we were put into a room where only half of the lights were working, and everything took forever. Secondly, when the ER Dr. So-and-so came in, she informed us that the plastic bag over his genitals wasn't sterile, that she didn't know why Dr. Glaser would have put it on because you wouldn't be able to get a sterile urine sample, and that they would have to put a catheter in him to get accurate tests results. Why Dr. Glaser wouldn't have know this is beyond me. Thirdly, Dr. Glaser mentioned that we would have to go to the hospital for some tests. She never mentioned that for babies under 60 days old with high fevers, a spinal tap was a mandatory test. HOW could she not know that!? And when someone tells you that they want to do a spinal tap on your baby in a room with bandage wrappers on the floor and with only half of the florescent lights working, it's like, whoa. Are you serious? When I called Dr. Glaser's office to verify if all of this was necessary, there was no answer since it was closed. I called the messaging service multiple times in an attempt to get in touch with her or her partner because I was panicking and wanted to know what to expect, and if a spinal tap was really necessary. To make a long story short, we didn't feel safe having our son ADMITTED (another thing Dr. Glaser didn't mention...I was expecting to go the the ER and see Dr. So-and-so for some tests...she never prepped me that my baby would require a spinal tap and a hospital stay of a couple of days while they monitored him and waited for test results) at Brooklyn Hospital, so we made arrangements to transfer him to New York Presbyterian in Manhattan, which was another debacle...Dr. So-and-so threatened to have us arrested if we removed our son from the hospital. TWO DAYS LATER, Dr. Gordon (Dr. Glaser's partner) finally returned my many frantic calls/messages. That experience (plus the following check-up that we had with Dr. Gordon) made me leave their practice. I was so upset. I was a new mother, completely freaked out that something really serious was wrong with my baby (it turned out that he just had a UTI), and Dr. Glaser didn't tell me what to expect, didn't know that the plastic bag urine that they taped to my son's junk was pointless, wasn't available for me to speak to in an emergency situation, AND THEN didn't even directly return my phone calls and messages. I'm sure tons of other people have had fine experiences with her. In fact, in all the years that I had seen her as a patient myself, I would have told you that she was a fine doctor, just rather gruff. However, that whole experience was beyond reprehensible and as a direct result, I couldn't trust her (or Dr. Gordon) to be my son's pediatricians. On a side note, my mother always used to joke with my brother and I when we were little that we should only get sick on the days that Dr. Gordon was in the office, because she was put off by Dr. Glaser's gruff bedside manner. read more

Amy Glaser is a world class Pediatrician with a beautiful, fully supported and equipped office on a tree lined street in Park Slope Brooklyn. That being said, I have seen her in action treating kids in their sickness, and can truly say she empathizes with their pain, and works intelligently and tirelessly to bring them relief. Dr. Glaser has remained after hours to treat one of my kids in her office, when I called at the end of the day. She is excellent during well visits also. The nurses at Slope Pediatrics are calm and kind. The office staff is responsive and two other top tier pediatricians are in the practice. I like that I am able to discuss care and treatment options with Dr. Glaser during routine visits and emergencies. She is impressive in terms of her depth of experience and hands on manner. In the words of a classic rock and roll song Dr. Glaser is "Simply the Best". read more

Dr. Glaser was on a list of pediatrician's that I got from my ob/gyn. She wasn't available for my son's first visit at 1 week old. Her associate checked him and told me to bring him back in a few days, which I did. During his second visit, Dr. Glaser's associate said he had thrush on his tongue and prescribed an antibiotic. But on his next visit, a few days later, I told her that the antibiotic wasn't working because his tongue looked the same. She told me to stop giving it to him because she realized it wasn't thrush but milk solids sticking to his tongue. A few months later, knowing that I needed a new pediatrician, I found a cyst on my son's chest one morning. I looked it up online hoping to find someone say the symptoms were nothing but couldn't find any condition for an infant that fit my son's condition. So I reluctantly called Dr. Glaser, waited for her to call me, called my job and let them know I was going to be late or not in at all and never heard from Dr. Glaser until I called her again. When I reached my job, I told my coworker (and fellow mom) about my son's symptoms. She has two boys, 5 and 2, and told me that she never heard of it. She also told me that I should definitely call the doctor again right away. So I did, and Dr. Glaser was more than happy to tell me to make an appointment the following Monday. It was Thursday and she expected me to stay calm, allowing the condition to worsen over the weekend till she could see my newborn at a more convenient time! My coworker was able to recommend a new pediatrician, who has sick visits and was able to see my son that same day. So I made an appointment with the new pediatrician and haven't looked back. read more

This is a review for Dr. Frank who works at this practice. We are first time parents who had a horrific experience with Dr Frank. She sent us to ER when our son was 4 days old because he had normal but bordering on low bilirubin levels for jaundice, and was a home birth (which she openly disapproved of) so she wanted him checked out. When we got to the hospital, the ER Pediatrician said he didn't understand why we were there, but they would run some tests because Dr. Frank ordered them. To make a long and painful story brief, our son was suddenly subjected to a 5 day hospital stay, a spinal tap, extremely powerful antivirals and antibiotics... all to find out he was totally fine and nothing was wrong with him at all. When we got out of the hospital we went to Dr. Frank to follow up. She did not remember us, and proceeded to diagnose our healthy son with three more problems: an eye infection, a staph infection, and a yeast infection. We left with 3 prescriptions and were even more devastated. She then called three days later to follow up on the staph infection and make sure we were treating it. I asked how he got a staph infection? She nonchalantly said that they were common with hospital stays. This infection gave me mastitis... a whole other nightmare! The kicker was when Dr. Frank called again two days later yelling at me for not returning her calls about our son's staph infection - she was really concerned that he wasn't getting treatment. I explained to her that we had already spoken, and she swore up and down that we had not. After we spoke for a few more minutes, she said, oh yeah, I do kind of remember talking to you. We never saw Dr. Frank after that. Our new pediatrician said nothing was wrong with his eyes and he didn't have a yeast infection. She is a horrific doctor who over-diagnoses and sees only problems, not the baby. If you are home birth, stay away. read more

Dr. Glaser has been my son's PCP for years. Today he had a fever of 102. An appointment was scheduled for 3:15, due to miscommunication, I thought the appointment was for 3:30. Considering that my son was sleeping I waited to wake him until the last minute. I brought him to the dr. Arriving at 3:34. I was told we were late and would have to reschedule for the next day. We're looking for another dr., you should as well. Update, we went back the next day. He tested positive for the flu! Tamiflu prescribed. An extra day of suffering due to this dr's punitive measure over a miscommunication causing lateness. What kind of mean dr turns away sick children due to lateness? No previous issues of us ever being late. No warning, no compassion, this was a sick visit, not a checkup. Tamiflu is time dependent. This may be a good dr. However her policy's suck. read more

Dr. Glaser is un attentive does not build a relationship with the children or the patients.And this has been an ongoing behavior with her so I changed to Dr. Pappageorge, she is amazing. The rest of the staff as well are great just Dr. Amy never seems present and doesnt seem to want to answer too many questions. read more

Dr. Glaser is amazing. We had a wonderful experience taking our newborn twins to her. Seeing as they are our first children, it was a bit of a nerve-wracking experience, but Dr. Glaser put us at ease. She was open and clear with advice and very responsive between appointments. She is also a Certified Lactation Consultant, which was very helpful during the first few weeks after childbirth (note, she is NOT at all pushy or biased about breastfeeding vs. formula). We absolutely loved having her as our sons' pediatrician and would have stayed with her indefinitely if we were still in the area. Couldn't be more grateful for our experience with Dr. Glaser. read more

Dr. Gordon and Dr. Glaser seem to have very different attitudes toward families and toward the practice of medicine. A while ago, they split their practice (although awkwardly for them I would imagine, their officers are next door on 8th Ave.) After year of seeing both of them, we went with Gordon, who we always experienced as being warm, knowledgable, non-judgmental and, an added plus, kind of funny. Our son is a patient of Dr. Glaser and has been since birth, almost 2 years now. Dr. Glaser was the top recommendation by our son's cardiologist and with good reason. Though the practice is routinely busy, Dr. Glaser always has an open ear and responds our questions with an unvarnished, succinct answer. It is plain that Dr. Glaser's experience allows her to quickly separate the wheat from the chaff when it comes to dispensing advice and diagnosis. If you value candid, straight forward communication with a physician who has clearly had significant and meaningful experiences then she is the doctor for you. If you want to be coddled, wooed, or otherwise have your parental ego stroked you best look elsewhere. The staff at the practice is professional, friendly and very accommodating. The first half hour of each day is dedicated to last minute appointments and emergencies. A nice feature we've used at least a half dozen times. My son is a notorious "tough stick" when it comes to drawing blood. When hospitalized, it took the NICU physician 4 attempts WITH a UV light to get an IV started. Dr. Glaser's phlebotomist took her time and got it on the first. After seeing and hearing my son wail in the NICU, it was an immense relief watching such a caring, careful professional in action. read more

Dr Amy is an intuitive and sensitive doctor. "Gruff" "Poor bedside manner" whatever. I don't want my doctor to sugar coat the issue. I want her to make my kids better. And she does. She tells it like it is. That being said, my kids- now 3.5 and 5.5 adore her- they make her pictures and want to bring her presents when they go. My son wants to be a doctor because of her. Dr Amy saved my life and my daughters life. She was the first to spot and address my post partum depression. She was the first person who taught me how to nurse properly and successfully. Her staff bends over backwards to help, fill out forms, etc. She is extremely meticulous and thorough. I was a nervous new mom, now I am a confident mom of healthy kids and I have her to thank. read more

I've been coming to Dr. Glaser's office for two years. My daughter is school aged and I wanted a pediatrician that was close to home and competent. My childcare coop recommended this office and Im glad they did. The front desk staff are engaging and pleasant. Documents are always filled out upon request and appointment times are adhered to. On occasion we have Dr. Glaser's associate NP Riza. She is the best. She takes her time, documents observations in detail and is diligent when identifying symptoms/side effects. read more

Dr. Glaser has been our pediatrician since birth. My twins love her so much that they hug her when they come to see her even if the scheduled appointment entails a vaccine! She is an amazing diagnostician and saved my son's life when he was 6 weeks old. We came to her office and were seen twice by her partner at the time who kept telling me that my baby was fine and when we asked why he was screaming after he had a bottle she stated it was just life. The third time I came to the office that week, Dr. Glaser saw him and told us to take him to the ER of LICH right away as he was very ill. When we arrived, our son was admitted and on intravenous antibiotics for 7 days. We are forever grateful to Dr. Glaser and plan on being patients until the boys become adults. read more

This review is really about the physical layout of the offices at 8th Avenue. Parents should know that there is no ramp! This seems ridiculous since the entry to the office is a few steps down and presumably many many parents come to the practice with strollers. I can't imagine the reason that the practice has not seen fit to install a ramp. read more

The front desk is great especially the young receptionist who sits near the sign in sheet, she is very sweet and welcoming towards everyone who comes in and she helps you answers questions about everything. If I could give negative stars, I would. Frankly, I don't understand the positive reviews on this doctor. The negative reviews, and my experience, are enough to revoke her license. I asked her once about the rings under my daughter's eyes and she actually had the nerve to look at me and say I had awful rings under my eyes too. I had asked her repeatedly to take my concerns about my daughter seriously and she never did. Then my daughter had severe constipation, potentially an allergic reaction to a new diet change -- so she sent my daughter to a dirty, awful hospital in Brooklyn and never checked on us. The hospital experience was so horrible that it scared all of us. Then when we spoke -- after a battery of tests where nothing came up -- she had the NERVE to say, "its not an IF that there's something wrong with your child, it's a GIVEN." Just to infuse more negativity and uncertainty, without giving us potential answers or care. Amy Glaser is a nasty, angry, mean, awful doctor. There's clearly something wrong in her life. She shouldn't be allowed to practice medicine. read more

have two daughters 15 and 10 and Dr. Glaser has been our pediatrician since my oldest daughter was born (15 years). I find Dr. Glaser to be an outstanding doctor, not only devoted to her patients but also extremely knowledgeable and accurate. I find Dr. Glaser to be very personable. She makes my daughters feel very comfortable and she spends time with them during the visit listening to what they have to say. She also spends a great deal of time with me discussing their health. She is very thorough and always follows up a day or two later to ensure that her patients are responding to the treatment and are doing well. My youngest daughter has had asthma ever since she was born. Dr. Glaser has been dedicated to helping me manage her asthma. She has been very informative and very supportive. There were many times when Dr. Glaser would call me late at night or on her days off to find out how I was doing and how my daughter was feeling. Dr. Glaser is extremely knowledgeable whether dealing with infants or adolescents. Seven years ago my family and I moved to Queens and my commute to Brooklyn is approximately an hour. I had the option to change my pediatrician but when my daughters and I discussed the options we all agreed that it would be extremely difficult to find a pediatrician who would be able to provide the excellent care and dedication that Dr. Glaser provides. read more

I was able to get an appointment with Dr. Glaser for my four day old baby with a day's notice. She was so great. Extremely knowledgeable, thorough and patient. Answered every ridiculous new mother question I had. She took the time to make sure I was breastfeeding properly which I really appreciated. I've now had four appointments with her and I've been consistently pleased. I find her straight forward but certainly not gruff. She's direct, which I appreciate. I will admit my baby is healthy and hasn't had any major issues, but I would trust her opinion if something serious were to arise. read more

My children have been Dr. Glaser patients for two and a half years. We have gone thought quite a bit during that time - two ER visits, one short hospitalization. Every time. Dr. Glaser and Dr. Frank have been reliable, knowledgeable and kind. The calls placed in after hours are returned immediately and we feel they both spend the time needed to answer our questions, no rush or half-baked answers. We could'n ask for more. I took my daughter to Dr. Glaser a couple days after she was born, and it was one of the worst experiences of my life. Dr. Glaser thought my daughter looked jaundiced, so she did some blood work. Then she asked my husband to get gauze from the cabinet. When he went to get the gauze, he saw that the pieces on the top had BLOOD on them. He took a clean piece of gauze and gave it Dr. Glaser, who then pressed it to my baby's arm and forgot to put a bandaid where she had pricked her. Then, I asked Dr. Glaser, a lactation consultant, to help us with breast feeding. My daughter was not able to latch, and she started crying hysterically. Dr. Glaser took out a bottle of formula and sprayed it on my daughter's face, so that the formula ran down her chest and I had to frantically wipe it away from my daughter's belly button (which is not supposed to get wet). She then said, "I'm trying to get your baby to shut up." She actually said that! She seemed flustered throughout the entire appointment, repeatedly apologizing for being so stressed. At the end, she ran out without leaving me any time for questions. I promptly called another pediatrician (Dr. Gordon), with whom we have been happy ever since. read more

I recently read a review written by Lina M. about Dr. Amy Glaser. I am Dr Glaser's medical assistant and I would like to comment on what was said in Lina's review. Regarding the comment on the blood draw for bilirubin testing, I know for a fact that this type of testing requires an assistant to be present, which I am always. Also we would NEVER send a patient or a parent into our supply cabinet. I personally stock all our rooms everyday and know that everything in our cabinets is suitable for use. In regards to the breast feeding comment I personally witness Dr Glaser spending extensive time with new mothers in regards to breast feeding. This tactic is called and S&S which is part of breast feeding training and helping the baby to latch and sometimes results in milk getting on the baby. This is all a part of a lactation consult. We realize that certain pediatricians personalities suit certain moms, and there are different pediatricians for everyone, but I CANNOT let this misrepresentation go unanswered. In closing, I've work for other pediatricians and without taking anything away from them, I find Dr. Glaser to be a brilliant doctor. read more
