Our family has been with this practice for nearly twelve years because of Dr. Gidwani's excellent care and management. As an example, when my son recently became sick, I was given an appointment only about an hour from the time I initially reached out. The NP who met with us, Reina, was amazing with my son. She made the experience informative and participatory for him - she engaged him in the process (doing a "science experiment") in a perfectly age-appropriate way. I've never seen a kid so delighted to be diagnosed with strep! Later that day, when I was having trouble at the pharmacy, the receptionist kindly offered to stay on the phone with me until our issue was resolved. I kept her on speaker for about ten minutes! Dr. Gidwani and her staff has consistently taken good care of my two children from infancy through the tweens. She is always responsive to questions, and it's easy to communicate with the office. The doctors at this practice are incredible yet the receptionist, Angela Antoine was horribly rude and rushed us off the phone when inquiring about services the practice offers. When you are dealing with matters related to your child the last thing you want is for staff or a receptionist like this one to treat you how she treated us. I too have worked in the service industry and I would be reprimanded if I ever treated someone the way she treated us. Please do not let individuals like Angela ruin your reputation. read more

Dr Gidwani is amazing. She's responsive over emails, very patient in person, and very very good with babies. My only complaint with this place is that when they are busy, wait time can be close to an hour. This is probably because they give out same day appointments to those who really need to come in and see the doctor, which we also had to do a couple of times. With that said, when we did see the doctor, she never rushed or tried to move on to the next patient. She always made sure all of our questions were answered. During my pregnancy, we had met with a couple of pediatricians on the UWS, and while the others were closer to our home, we ultimately decided to go with Dr. Gidwani. It was absolutely the right decision. While other pediatricians we met with seemed to be of the camp of "whatever you want," Dr. Gidwani gave her direct opinion and had a stance on a number of important topics for us, which made us trust her a lot more. We didn't need a doctor to please us, as new parents, we needed a doctor that would guide us and hold an opinion on the wellbeing of our child, first and foremost. She was able to check in on us at the hospital within 24 hours of our son's birth, and checked in on us throughout our stay, helping us with some issues we were having and calmed down our concerns. As another poster mentioned, she is not an alarmist, which really appealed to us, and keeps us calm as new parents. However, she is also detailed during each visit, so we know we are in good hands. She really has a natural sensibility with babies and a warmth and kindness that can be felt. During the first few weeks of our son's birth when we had numerous questions, we would email her and hear back almost immediately, even at odd hours of the day/night. We trust Dr. Gidwani with our baby and can't recommend her highly enough. read more

My son is not yet one and we have already used three pediatricians. I am so thankful to have found Dr. Gidwani. Unlike our last couple of doctors, she never rushes us, explains everything clearly and patiently and always has excellent suggestions to remedy whatever the situation is. I also lean towards the more natural approach to medicine (i.e. only the most necessary vaccines and medication when all else fails) and while other doctors have been downright rude and dismissive, Dr. Gidwani is always respectful and supportive. We love Dr. Gidwani and have been seeing her since our baby daughter was one day old. Dr. Gidwani is calm and kind with a non-alarmist attitude. That said, she also knows when to be serious. She's reachable by email (and, depending on the urgency of the issue, responds almost instantaneously), which was a huge plus for us. Dr. Gidwani does everything herself (weighing the baby, giving vaccines, etc.), so it's easy to develop a relationship with her and she really gets to know the baby. She was able to accommodate the vaccine schedule we preferred and since she's pro-breastfeeding, she was able to help us on that front also. Her office staff are super nice and very accommodating. We are sorry to leave the practice but we are moving away. If we are ever back to the city, we'll be seeing Dr. Gidwani again. read more

Dr. Gidwani and her staff go above and beyond and the only word I can use for her is EXCEPTIONAL. She has been our pediatrician for 3.5 years, starting from when my daughter was an infant. I know if there is anything I have a question on I can always count on her to get right back to me via email or phone call. I called her on Xmas eve and received a call back in 45 minutes. I'm not sure I could survive as a mom of two children with health issues without her help. I've only received the best care possible from her for my children, and trust her 100%. My newborn son sees Dr. Senkler and she's been so fabulous that I felt obligated to update my review. In the 2 weeks since my son was born, we've seen Dr. Senkler 3 times. Once in the hospital and twice in the office. She has been wonderful. When the practice was recommended to me by a mom in my building's elevator she told me, "Dr. Senkler is the kind of person you wish you could be friends with in real life." She was absolutely right. Dr. Senkler is extremely likable and down to earth. But more importantly, she's been patient and thoughtful in response to all of my concerns and questions. She takes her time with us and I never feel rushed. She is thorough and explains everything in an understandable fashion. She also has a great sense of humor. We've been with Dr Gidwani for over 8yrs. She has been my daughters doctor since birth. Then when I had my son 3yrs ago she too is his pediatrician since birth. She's the best! I'm so afraid to leave NY because I know I won't find another doctor as good and compassionate as Dr. G.... She responds to my emails very quickly and is always willing to see my kids immediately if that's what I want or if that's what she thinks is best. Most importantly my kids love her. We love Our Kids' MD. We lived in the upper west side and recently moved to Jersey City but have decided to stick with our son's pediatricians at Our Kids' MD because they are great with our son and very patient and responsive with our inquiries. Our son just recently enrolled in daycare and since then has been quite sick often. I have called the office at all odd hours and Dr. Gidwani has always been available to help us. Our Kids and Dr. Gidwani have been exceptional for our family and I love the way she runs her practice. She is extremely responsive and I cannot emphasize enough how important that is for first time parents. We asked Dr. Gidwani so many questions, and day or night she was there to respond. When we had an emergency in the middle of the night, Dr. Gidwani was on the phone with us immediately. That is simply not the case with most practices that outsource this stuff to phone banks. My OBGyn recommended Dr. Gidwani to me when I delivered my daughter at Roosevelt Hospital. She is amazing! She has an amazing bedside manner, and is always so attentive and friendly to my daughter; she calls her princess, tickles and plays with her. I feel like my daughter and I are not just faces in her practice. She takes the time to inquire about how we are doing personally and remembers our previous personal conversations on follow up visits. She is very caring and personable. As a first time parent, I often had questions or concerns and she never made me feel like my questions were silly or dumb. You always leave her office knowing and feeling that your child receives the best medical attention possible. My daughter is 6 years old now, and even though we moved out of Manhattan and into Queens, I still commute in to see her. She is more than worth it. Her office is a "green office" and always immaculately clean and neat, her staff is very friendly, and we have NEVER waited more than 10 minutes. Her office usually has same day appointments available and even offers evening and Saturday appointments. I have, on a few occasions, emailed her office and received a personal response from her very quickly. She sometimes even answers the calls herself! There aren't enough words to describe how special Dr. Gidwani and her practice is. We are so lucky to have her. read more

Sonia was my son's pediatrician when he was one until the age of two. I liked her and thought she cared about kids until the day I got a letter in the mail stating that I have thirty days to find a new pediatrician due to my insurance not covering enough of the costs of vaccines when we went there for his two years old check up. Also telling me it was important to find a new doctor because of his "condition" even though he has none. I was in complete shock to receive a letter like this, never happened to me before and didn't even think a doctor could kick you out basically! (and right before the holidays no less). Also why not call me or talk to me in person if any issue? I think it's just wrong, that's how you treat your patients? This practice clearly only thinks about money and nothing else. I do not recommend this doctor, stay away! Also the receptionist is terrible (not friendly and borderline rude). Do yourself a favor and find another pediatrician for your kids.... read more

We were SO sad to learn that Dr. Senkler was let go from this practice without any notice for no fault of her own. She was such a wonderful pediatrician to our two girls. Although, I did enjoy our visits with Dr. Gidwani and the other medical staff, our family cannot support a practice that doesn't respect its patients or doctors. After Dr. Senkler was let go, the practice never provided information as to why she was no longer with the practice or how we could reach her. Our family selected this practice because of Doctor Senkler and our choice had nothing to do with the practice itself - we felt disrespected, surprised and so sad to learn that they not only let go of one of the best pediatricians I've come across but also without letting us know that she didn't do anything wrong to deserve it! Dr senkler was amazing, but this practice is now going totally downhill and we recently left. They replaced dr senkler for unknown reasons with a cheaper nurse and did not notify patients. We also received notice that they are no longer accepting our insurance (United healthcare) though the office claims this is a mistake (we don't believe them). They seem to care more about making money then taking care of patients. Dr senkler is amazing and we will follow her wherever she goes, but will never go back to this practice. read more

We feel so incredibly blessed to have found Dr Sonia Gidwani for our first baby's pediatrician. From our consultation, to her visit to the hospital when our baby was born and every single time after...including email exchanges, Dr G has been the BEST!! As first time parents, we were (and are) clueless on most things baby related as well as my anxiety kicking in full gear the moment baby came out. Not only is Dr G intelligent, respectful, kind, patient, understanding, she is also a mom and makes a new mom feel calm and relaxed. I also had PPD & PP hyperthyroidism and she was so good to me too offering advice and recommendations to help me! She's attentive and is the sweetest with our baby. Our baby loves her too! We have also seen other families and their little ones leave her office with caring goodbyes. I wish all doctors had her bedside manner. Her office staff is friendly and there's rarely ever a long wait. It's a small practice but I love the intimacy you get from Our Kids vs practices with many doctors. We moved to Long Island when our little one was 4 months (9 months now) old and we continue and will continue to come into the city to see dr g.
