Women beware--take the reviews of the male doctor's condescension very seriously. I walked in with extreme chest pain and a 103 degree fever. The doctor examined me and said "Maybe your bra is too tight," then recommended Tylenol and rest. 2 days later my symptoms had not improved so I went to the ER, by the time I arrived I had entered sepsis which is life threatening. NYU Langone admitted me for a week with chest pneumonia. I can't believe how badly my pain was dismissed and I nearly died from lack of care by this practice. I came in with chest pain and was made to feel like a dumby for coming in. I'm glad the nurse ran an EKG for me but there was no other exploration or testing offered. I'm still experiencing sharp chest pain the next day with no answers as to why except the suggestion that I had spicy food (I didn't). Doctor truly seemed annoyed that I wasn't satisfied with him only telling me I wasn't having a heart attack, like that's the bare minimum? You also have to tell me what else could be going on. I didn't even mention or display feeling anxious and the first thing he said while holding my EKG results was not about me experiencing pain, but he said "so you are experiencing some anxiety?" I went in and asked for a few tests, but was not tested of 3 out of the 5 of them even though they agreed. When I called to complain the guy I spoke with, who allegedly was a doctor, blamed me and told me if I didn't like it to go somewhere else from now on. When I told him I what I will do, and that I'm not used to such bad customer service. He said, this is a health issue, not a customer service issue, but I received both poor healthcare and terrible customer service. So, now I will go somewhere else for my tests but since I have a deductible on my insurance that means I have to pay for another doctor's visit. read more

For the most part, the staff here was great. They knew what they were doing, were friendly, and efficient. My experience with Doctor Jennings was far less positive. My visit with him was fine, until I asked if "the pros outweighed the cons" of the antibiotic he prescribed, because I understood he was prescribing it prophylactically. He said that the question was a little offensive, and began explaining how my question was based on a pop culture understanding of medicine. I apologized, and I did not debate with him but I did point out they had a sign on the wall right in front of me that said, "be antibiotic aware". He asked me if I wanted the prescription or not as he stormed out. Although I said I did, I had to call the office 3 times that afternoon before the prescription was sent to the pharmacy. Again, the facility overall is fine, but a doctor that behaves like that after an innocent question is totally unacceptable. read more

Rude and didn't listen. Went in for a strep throat check and they didn't check me for that. They did do a test for Covid though. Not sure if I have strep and I told them I have a history with the disease. Doctor spent 30 seconds with me then rushed me out the door. Sent the prescription to a pharmacy I don't use. Told me that takes 15 minutes there. Pharmacist says it takes over an hour. Don't use this place. read more

Neither doctor or nurse introduced themselves and were so cold. i was sitting on the patient chair and the nurse just pulled the thing underneath the chair without telling me and pulled it into my hurt ankle. She also kept slamming the door which was alarming every time. When the doctor came in he literally didn't acknowledge us and just walked over and squeezed my ankle, again, without telling me and I was wincing in pain and he was like does that hurt and I'm like yea, you're literally squeezing my ankle and then he just gets up and says, we're gonna take an X-ray, follow me. He just leaves and doesn't wait at all. I have to gather myself and get on my crutches which takes a minute and then I'm directed by someone else to the correct room. I get there and they make me sit on a regular chair with no support for my ankle so I'm just holding up my leg with my arms for maybe 10 mins. The doctor comes in and he just points to the X-ray table and says "sit there" and I'm like "okay how" because this table is HIGH and he just points again to the table and says "here" no indication that he will help me on the table so I hop over and jump up. Then he gives me the X-ray vest and says put it on. I put it on wrong and he just stares at me and twirls his finger saying "the other way" not specifying at all and I did it wrong again so I get really upset and scream "okay can someone freaking help because I don't know what I'm doing" and that previous rude nurse aggressively fixes the vest for me. She leaves and the doctor orients me for the X-ray and I start crying the entire time the doctor comes in and out to take the X-ray because I'm so frustrated. Once it's done, I limp back into the room where my partner is waiting for me and I'm angry and still crying and explain to her what happened. She goes and complains to the front desk and then comes back. The doctor comes in a bit nicer and actually looks me in the eyes but still is shitty and doesn't explain anything. We asked for his name then, which is Dr. Monk. This specific nurse and doctor were very unprofessional and literally treat you like you were a wild animal or something. Would not recommend. Horribly unprofessional place, front desk was completely inattentive to a simple routine billing question. That's fine and unhelpful front desks are nothing new in the city. But the disorganized communication between the front desk and doctor are definitely a concern. But what's not okay is the condescending and aggressive demeanor of the doctor at this clinic. I was feeling horrible at the time and had some concerns about my treatment; but was completely disregarded by this doctor. Dr. Joseph Weiss was absolutely amazing. Unfortunately, I had to come here because my PCP cared more about scamming the insurance rather than listening to my actual issue. I'm glad I came here. Dr. Weiss sent me for an MRI and I got my diagnosis within a couple of days. He was very patient and extremely knowledgeable. I immediately felt comfortable as soon as I met him. Great doctor. I don't want to leave out the front staff. These ladies were so polite and helpful. Great atmosphere. I was concerned about visiting any urgent care facility because of Covid-19 but it was the weekend and I was in intense pain. I looked in and only saw one other patient so I decided to go in. The place was spotless. It was so clean and that really relieved any anxiety I had about my visit. I would definitely recommend this place based on my personal experience here. read more

Staring at my tits, invasive with unnecessary touching of my chest, stomach -- came for a precautionary strep test after roommate contracted a nasty case (I work in service and can't risk infecting others) and was essentially told I was wasting their time, that it was stupid for me to come. Doctor kept me in the exam room far longer than necessary to ask about my tattoos (?!) and medical history, I felt incredibly sexualized and NO I DO NOT WANT TO PLAY WITH YOU AND YOUR CAT IN THE OTHER ROOM WHILE I WAIT FOR THE TEST RESULTS. A+++ I've been twice now--once for a Covid test, more recently for my wife's EKG and labs--and I can wholeheartedly recommend UMD. They are friendly, incredibly efficient, and competent, with clean facilities and a cheerful, welcoming, and easy-going-but-professional manner. Everything is as described, with test results easy to access and available on time. The employees seem to enjoy a good rapport and working environment--on our most recent visit, Jasmine, Tina, and August were all extremely friendly, proficient, and caring. This place makes me feel better just knowing that they are open, even during the times that my family or me are feeling really under the weather. If you aren't having a severe issue such as a heart attack or something that needs a hospital setting for you or your loved ones, I highly recommend this place. After you fill out your registration, they call you in to assess what you came in for, the MD shows up shortly after the Medical Assistant collects your chief complaints and vitals. They conduct X-rays and can do splints, if you need to go to the hospital they will tell you. They also collect info on your pharmacy and send your prescriptions over electronically. They call you within 24-48 to follow-up with you and can advise you on what to do if you are still not well or on that path. Dr. Bride, in particular, has a super kind bedside manner. Overall, the providers at this location are all amazing and have been able to diagnose my son with an inflamed appendix, something that countless doctors in the previous two week had failed to do. They also see children and do physical exams and immunizations but I believe that those matters go by appointment. Don't go to the hospital and get even sicker and be treated poorly if you can go to this place, it really doesn't make sense! read more

My mom fell on her arm and it was hurting her very badly. We came to this urgent care to see if it was a simple sprain or if she had broken a bone possibly. The doctor we met was terrible. He conducted a light examination of her arm (by touching a few places and asking questions). He said it was just a sprain (nothing to worry about) then chatted with us about random things. Next day, her arm was still hurting her. We went to the hospital (NYU Langone Health) and the doctor told us he couldn't believe the urgent care didn't make us do an x-ray of her arm. He said that theres no way you can determine an arm is not broken without doing an x-ray. After results came in, we found out she actually did break her arm in a very tiny place and had to wear a cast. It was not a sprain at all. Needless to say, this urgent care is bad. I suggest going to a real hospital with doctors who care about your health more than chatting with you cause they're bored. read more

Worst Doctor I've ever seen. This place is an absolute Joke and for your well being please do not come here. I went in Saturday afternoon after being more sick then I've ever been in my life. At first it was going well. I was sent to a room , attended by a nurse who took my vitals and asked for my symptoms. I gave her my Symptoms, 48 hours of Fever Vomiting Trouble breathing Throat burning Coughing Chest pain Dizziness Swollen throat Very very strange thick white gum like mucus. Sounds like I'm dying doesn't it? Definitely felt that way. She gives me a Flu Test. 5 minutes later this guy walks in and says " What can I do for you?" At first I'm kinda lost for words , don't know who he is , never introduced himself. I'm like ummmmm I think I'm waiting on those results. He waves his hands and says "tell me your symptoms". I say , fever, coughing, then he just cuts me off there. He says " we're thinking it's flu but it's coming up negative and there's not much we can do this time of year for that anyways. At this point I feel so terrible it hasn't dawned on me that this guy is a complete idiot and a joke for a Doctor. Im just really trying to find help , like I said Ive never felt this bad in my life. I'm like sir , what else could it be besides that? He asks for my History, I let him know the only thing Ive ever had we're sore throats. Growing up I'd get them probably every month , but I've never gotten fever noir do I ever get a cough , that's why I'm here I know my body and this is something very abnormal to me . He says it's probably a virus, you should be fine within 10 to 14 days. At this point I want to cry , I'm so sick I want anything. I tell the man , I've always been prescribed penicillin ( Antibiotics) when ever I had throat issues. Me and him go back and fourth for 10 minutes on why he won't give me medicine. I'm practically begging him until finally he says I'm gonna put it in the notes that I don't wanna give it to you but you want it so I'll give you a "ZPack" . I ask what that even is , he says "Antibiotics." Gives me cough syrup and some inhaler both were to help me sleep when coughing at night. Knew I didn't need either of the two. Paid out of pocket , and left. It's now Monday and I currently have a double ear infection on top of everything else because I haven't gotten better and I'm on my way to the ER. I've sat up all night in anger and sadness . I haven't been able to sleep. Doctors are supposed to care for people. I literally hate this guy for making me feel this way and treating me as careless as he did. read more

I had my 14 year old go to this clinic with his sitter. Le me start by saying my son is special needs. He had a fever and was coughing. This place is not friendly for people with special needs. He was not given anything for the fever and basically turned away. The sitter was told to take him to the Emergency Room. Well why have a Urgent Care? Logically, I would have had him swabbed for the flu. But my son was turned away. Please do not give your business to this place. There are many more options in Williamsburg. On the closest day of the season. I took my son to the Emergency Room. He was positive for the flu. This could have been done in the Clinic. The price was pretty standard. As it turns out I had bronchitis which left me sick for about a month so, which I wish the doctor educated me on a bit more. Cannot recommend this place enough! Entire staff was friendly, courteous and efficient. Location is clean and spacious. There was absolutely no wait when I arrived mid day. I was checked in, consulted, tested, diagnosed, treated and out the door in 30 minutes. My nurse even called me after the weekend to see how I was doing on my antibiotics. I came in here and the nurse was amazing. My daughter had strep and the doctor kept insisting she take a Covid test. That's all he cared about. Then went on to tell me that strep often clears up by itself. She couldn't even swallow her spit. He told me the test was negative and it wasn't until the nurse came back and told me she actually saw the positive line which I saw too I insisted on antibiotics. I give this place 1 star only because I couldn't give it ZERO for wasting my damn time. I took my 4 year old son here 3 weeks ago and they could not help me. First of all the nurse or whoever he was said if my son, who's crying because he is scared, doesn't calm down he won't be seen and get the treatment he needs to feel better. What type of crap is that? He's a child he is afraid. You never tell a parent you won't be able to care for her child. 2nd they referred me to the emergency room. UMD Williamsburg has proven itself to me on several occasions, esp when it has been manned by Dr. Weiss and crew. They served me in the first stage of recovering from a nasty knee injury, taking an X-ray in a few minutes that ruled out bone fractures. An EKG they did in several minutes might have saved my life, but even if it did not, they quickly put me on the road to recovery with some peace of mind especially precious at the time. I was on my way to CityMD when I happened past this urgent care facility, and I'm really glad I did! I broke my finger on Halloween and came in the next morning to get it checked out. The wait time was nothing--I was seen as soon as I completed the form. In fact, they had to wait for ME because I chatted with some friends who were walking by for a bit. Wait = SHORT! I was seen by a pretty chill nurse and then saw Dr. Chen. He was great! Really friendly and professional team and everyone had a good sense of humor. He was professional and caring and attentive. His confidence, expertise and clinical judgement were evident. He was great at explaining and recommending steps which would be helpful in my care. I went here on a Saturday afternoon at about 5 and was seen by a nurse and Dr. Chen within 15 minutes. Dr. Chen identified my bad cough and congestion as an upper respiratory infection, wrote me a couple of prescriptions, and then said I should come back if I still had any symptoms at the end of the week. He was very efficient and warmer than I expected him to be. I'm not sure what the damage will be after Empire Blue pays their portion, and I'm hoping UMD's prices aren't insane. Thank god this place is open! Dr. Chen and his staff are so friendly, knowledgable and empathetic. I came in in so much pain, I couldn't even sit down, and I had a 6 hour flight to catch leaving that evening. I was panicking. Dr. Chen and his nurse gave me different prescriptions, and also showed me stretches I could do to ease the pain while traveling. And I didn't even have to wait 10 minutes. The visit was quick they prescribed the tamiflu gave me a doctor's note for work and i was on my way. Efficient staff, Dr Cole is a good listener, in and out in 20 minutes. The front desk clerk seemed a bit sleepy, but that still didn't detract from the most positive experience. Highly recommend for immediate care. If you have insurance, your copay would be the amount for "Urgent Care" (e.g. with UHC Choice Plus, $35). Giving this place one star for completely misdiagnosing me. I came in with a painful rash and they said it was probably covid so they tested me and sent me home. I was not exhibiting a single covid symptom. I knew when i left this place that i didn't have covid. To no surprise my PCR test came back negative. Luckily, i went to another doctor the following day who diagnosed me with shingles- I had shingles. This was my first experience with shingles and i learned that it's imperative to diagnose and medicate the virus within the first three days. Im extremely happy that I listened to my gut and not the doctor at this clinic. Just because covid is around doesn't mean other Illness have just disappeared. I urge the doctors to actually listen to their patients. On a more positive note, the receptionist was nice and there was not a long wait. read more
