Nope. Never again. I waited to write this review because I was so upset that I didn't want to overdo it. I came here on 10/16/2023 as a walk in at 10am. I'm in the market for a new place so I decided to give this place a try. The technician who did my pedicure was nice. I was impressed by the materials they used and how nice the salon was. I knew that must be why the prices were so high. Their overhead must be unreal. Towels with the salon name embroidered on them and everything. She even used fresh sliced oranges to massage in the scrub from the upgraded pedicure package. But that's okay, I don't mind paying for higher quality products and service. At this point I was very impressed. The issue came with the second tech who did my manicure. She asked me how I liked my nails so I was telling her. I'm particular about my nails-- the shape, the style... etc. But I'm by no means a jerk about it. I simply know what I want and I ask for it. My nails are my thing. I love my nails, everyone loves my nails, I get compliments on my nails all the time. They're nothing spectacular they're just really nice. Anyway, I was telling her what I wanted-- my natural nails are nice and really healthy so I only want clear acrylic or some kind of clear overlay on top to strengthen them. I clean at work and it's rough on my nails. They'll break if they aren't reinforced. I also like my nails ballerina slipper shape. Basically they taper toward then ends and are squared off. But as I was explaining what I wanted she looked up, said something to the woman working at the next table, and the woman's head flew up and she stared at me with a look of shock on her face, and then they both laughed loudly and shook their heads. I'm not the kind of person who automatically thinks that just because someone is speaking another language they are talking about me. But it was clear in this instance they were. I didn't say another word the rest of the visit. I gave her a terrible tip of $5. I gave the other woman $15. With such a personal service like this the end result isn't all that matters. It's the whole experience, including how you feel when leaving. Not only did I end up having to get a colored polish on my nails because the material she used on my nails was so cloudy it looked terrible, but I had to file away polygel lumps along the edges of my nails that I noticed once I got home, my nails were more round than ballerina slipper (no tapering whatsoever), and I left feeling disrespected and offended. That's too many strikes. I will not go back. read more

Very poor quality and lack of cleanliness! Went for the first time on a friend's recommendation but will not go back. Very rushed, tools not clean and my powder dip manicure cracked within a week. Nails were not shaped evenly and had to ask multiple times for technician to shape multiple nails. Will not be going back. Be ready to pay a service charge if using credit card as well. Zen website says $40 for a gel manicure; they charged me $43 plus tax. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I told the man and he said "oh no it's $43. I said I looked on the website but he pointed to the chart on the wall[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]- just be aware because honestly I didn't think it was worth it. My nail job was fine but the tools were not clean/ she took them out of a plastic box from her drawer- for the higher price they charged, they should've come from the sterilizer. read more

I had a "nail emergency" I walked in on a Saturday around 930 and was seen in less than 10 minutes. I got a half of refill, a replacement and a shaping which came out perfectly. I saw Linda, she's really nice! She doesn't really do designs but her shaping is perfect. read more

This is THE WORST SALON I HAVE EVER BEEN TO!!! A language barrier is expected when getting a nail service. But my artist had 0 comprehension. I wanted a simple polish with red chrome for the holidays. What a F&$K!&@ nightmare. $62 later and terribly ugly nails I left in tears. The artist asked me to stay and fix them which I agreed and then the manager turned all the lights off. I just asked to leave. I called 3 days later to set an appointment - explained my situation to have the receptionist hand the phone to someone else and repeat myself. Even though I arrived 35 minutes before they closed I knew my service was going to take at least an hour I thought at the very least I could make an appointment for the following day. I have to say usually this is a great experience but recently I have felt rushed and the quality of work has gone down hill. We went over photos of others nails and the tech suggested a different t style. Which I agreed with and we referenced photos. There was no time given to paying attention how the base nail was shaped to then create the overall esthetic of the photo that was shown, which ended with a poor result. We did discuss issues with the overall service etc and they reshaped my nails to look somewhat more cohesive but at this point they where too short and angled to make them look like the photos At the end I was offered a discount but in all I'm not sure why I paid because I'm very unhappy with the quality. read more

I'm updating my review because I've been to numerous salons since my horrible experience here. Every single one of them were able to do the services that I asked, and were more than accommodating. I've never felt so discriminated as I did at Zen nails. Other salons always try to find a way to make it work which I truly appreciate. This place is always busy, but that doesn't mean they do a great job or treat people with respect. I finally found a nail salon that we go back to often because they were so sweet, made sure I was comfortable in my wheelchair and even supported my arm to make sure they could do my nails well. It's all about Customer Service, and not discriminating somebody with a disability. read more

Every time I go here it gets worse! This most recent trip resulted in burned eyelids from eyebrow wax and a painted nails that do not look any better than I could do myself. They also add fees to your bill without telling you upfront so the $45 pedicure that you pick from the list they give you will actually be $50. And eyebrow wax is $15 and not $12. There is a sign up regarding an increase of prices due to covid that was pointed out after I questioned the "adof $8 on my bill but they should still mention it upfront or make changes on the price list before they hand it to you. They also should spend more time massaging while giving a pedicure and instead they punch them closed fist which doesn't make for a very relaxing time. read more

I've been to Zen Nails 3 times and I don't plan on switching again. Its calm, not crowded, extremely clean, organized, professional. Overall, it is a very comfortable space. I have acrylic gel nails and each time takes about an hour. They have a wide selection of quality polish colors. Every employee I've worked with seems very experienced and like they really care about making their clients happy. Based on other reviews, I made an appointment instead of walking in. Glad I did because it was busy. They took me right on time, maybe even a few minutes early. Seemed clean. Some tools were sterile in package, some were not. Service was not friendly and not unfriendly. Pedicure was fine. Nothing special. Did not take all my nail polish off before applying new- I didn't notice until after. Would I recommend? Meh. Not good, not bad. Just average. Nice color selection. Spent a lot of time. I'm a a bit of a Nut when it comes to cleaning at nail salons....I will walk out if they pull something out of a drawer that has been used on other people.... They are upfront with what they charge for. The pedicure was very relaxing and she took her time and paid attention to detail. I wanted an ombré dip for my nails and Danny was very meticulous, and took his time to make sure everything was even and perfect! It was a little pricey and they were very up front about the price of everything, but you get what you pay for. For the quality of my pedicure and manicure it was well worth the price! I've been to Zen nails twice so far. The staff is very friendly, the salon is clean and modern. i loved my first acrylic set done by Tiffany. I got a fill today by Linda and I got home and realized the polish is a bit uneven. i'm so sad to write a negative review because I love this place.I'll make sure to make an appointment next time. Update 9/22/19 I'm updating my review because I think I'm ready to find a new nail salon. I had several people do my nails but the service seems to be inconsistent. i had the owner do my nails a couple of times. Today I was upset she kept getting up and answered the phone while doing my nails. i noticed the buffing was hurting a little and I tried to i ignore it in the moment but when I got home I noticed there were a couple of cuts on corners of two of my fingers. i really tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt but I felt like she was more preoccupied/distracted while doing other things while doing my nails. First off, walking in is almost shocking, in a good way! It's a beautiful and modern nail salon tucked in a plaza next to Panera. They have so much staff on hand, and they do accept walk ins. I had an appointment and was taken care of right away. First you will sign in on an iPad which is pretty quick, then pick your colors. They're very professional and sweet, asking if I'd like a drink right as I sat. They also have free wifi! My girl Tracy was very particular about my nails and truly took her time to make them look good. I also adored that about every five minutes she would ask "does this feel good, is the water too hot, does this look good" and such. She would also joke around with me, and I had such a pleasant time with her. This might be TMI but I get ingrown toe nails on the sidea of my big nails. She took her time to snip and fix them, which I really appreciate. She was wonderful and I will definitely request her again. She only does normal and gel colors. They also play popular pop music that keeps your mood up. I got a basic pedicure which lasted about 45 minutes (of pure heaven) and a gel manicure. I was there for about 2 hours because she really took her time to do a good job. I think she did about 4 coats of my color and usually places only do 2. Please note they only take cash tips, but there is an ATM in the Walgreens next door. My very only small critique is that I wish they put subtitles on their TVs and that's it :) read more

Goodbye Zen Nails! I recently quit this salon. I had been a loyal, every 2-week customer for the last 3 years getting acrylic nails and gel polish. One of my acrylic nails had fallen off so I waited for my regular fill to have the acrylic put back on. On the day of my appt. I had my regular fill and told the girl there was no need to get a tip because my own nail was long enough. The girl worked diligently on my regular fill and just added acrylic overlay to the bare nail. There was no cutting, buffing, drilling, or tip involved. When I checked out, I was told I had to pay extra for the repair. I asked what exactly was the repair since there was no repair done to this nail. My other 9 nails required the normal cutting, buffing, drilling, gel removal, etc. I would never dispute a nail repair, but in this case there was none. I was told it would not be fair to the other customers to not charge me. I paid the bill but told them they lost a good customer. The response was "Oh well, suit yourself and by the way you will have to walk your own tip over to the girl who did your nails." WTF!!! read more

Took a self care day today! Decided to treat myself to a pedicure. Nate did such a great job was very gentle and even super patient while I took awhile to decide on what gel nail polish color I wanted and also helped me decide between pink and red! It was a good experience. I don't like so much that they charge a fee for paying with credit card. But overall it was a good experience. read more

I went in for a dip manicure today and decided that I will never go back. I've been getting my nails done every once in a while at this salon for the past 2 years as it is right around the corner from my house. They've always done an okay enough job, nothing special, but this today was the worst job anyone has ever done on my nails. They asked if I wanted another coat done to even out the color as for some reason the polish was darker in some areas than others creating almost a tie dye effect but I declined as that isn't even my biggest issue with the nails and I didn't realize how bad they truly were until I got to the car. This is my new nail place! My friend asked me to go there a few months ago and ive been back 3 times since then. They offer 3 different types of Pedicures, $35 for basic, the $45 and $55 for spa pedicures. I have had Lisa do my last 3 pedicures and she is simply the best! She takes her time doing every step of the pedicure. She gives the best leg massages ever! As soon as I walk in, I am greeted with a smile from the owner. The interior is clean and fresh. They have about 12 massage chairs and tv's to watch. They have 2 huge cabinets of polish colors, almost too many because it takes me a while to pick just one! I got my nails done for my wedding here. It's hard for my to compare it to other nail places because I don't get my nails done so often so I'll explain my experience the couple times I've been here. When I enter the salon everything is modern, colorful and clean! You need an appointment but they do take walk ins and they were very accommodating when my family came in without an appt to get nails done or fixed for my wedding. I got acrylic nails which I've never had done before but they were very well done. The service and pedicure were great as well. I would given this salon a 4 but when I returned to the salon to have my acrylics removed it was a not so good experience. Initially the technician was trying to take them off without dipping in remover and it was painful and one of my nails is now more shaved than I would like. He eventually stopped when another nail tech told him to do it the slower way and then he fixed his technique which was good. I think all my nails except that one he took off without the proper technique are fine and it'll take a few more months for them to get back to where they were. I'd return here because I do enjoy their gel manicures but that one experience still tainted my view of this place. read more
