I sent her pictures of my eyebrows and she gave me her recommendation before the appointment was made. I didn't like all of the makeup that was put on after my eyebrows were done. If I return, I'll ask for no makeup. They look nice now without it. I booked an appointment with Anna after reading her other Yelp reviews. I wanted to get my first Brazilian wax and saw she had so many raving about her eyebrow shaping I figured, two birds... Her building is a couple places in from the corner of Main and Harlem, a remodeled house; decorated super cute inside. Anna was extremely friendly and went over everything with me. What in the world was I doing with my eyebrows before I came here?! Anna does an ABSOLUTE amazing job with eyebrows!! I was able to snag a 12pm Saturday same day appointment online and met Anna at the front desk. She, along with the ambiance of the place, was very welcoming. As she was waxing my eyebrows, I didn't feel the usual pain you feel when waxing the bottom of the brows (we all know this pain very well). She also gave me great tips on how to fill in my brows. She sells her brow powder and brow brush, but doesn't push you like sales people at other locations. I ended up purchasing the powder and brush and still use it to this day. The powder lasts all day! Once everything is down, you pay at the front desk and you can leave a tip on the card as well. If you're not 100% happy when you leave your regular eyebrow waxing place, try out this spot! I've been going to European Wax Center, and while it's been alright, I'm going to Anna from now on! Anna Elizabeth Esthetics had a facebook special for half off a first time eye brow shaping. I'd never done my eye brows before and her salon was way closer to my house than EWC, so I made an appointment to come in. Her salon is inside of Brilliance Salon in a shopping center on Delaware Ave on the North side of Sheridan, and she has her own room for waxing and another for facials. I should admit, I've known Anna before this. We're friends who meet up every couple of years, and I was excited to see she started her own place! So when I went to my appointment it was wonderful to see her again and we had a great time chatting between my eye brow consultation. She gave me some great advice on where I could be plucking my eyebrows, where to let them grow in, and she walked me through exactly what she was going to do. She also let me throw in an upper lip wax while I was there, since it was super obvious in the light. That was a service I had done at EWC, but every time I did that, my upper lip would break out into tiny little pimples for about a week post my appointment. Anna said that is typical, but she uses a witch hazel solution after the wax that prevents breakouts in sensitive areas like upper lips. She was absolutely right and I'm so glad she did that, it's been 4 days and I haven't broken out! Her service prices are very comparable to other chain waxing salons, but I know for a fact this goes to support her and her family, so I'm really happy to switch over to her full time going forward. If you're looking for a new wax girl, I strongly suggest Anna. She's sweet, incredibly knowledgable, professional, and does great work! It was quick and painless (as can be when getting when getting hair ripped out of your body). The product she used was excellent. I have very sensitive skin and I can tell instantly if wax will hurt me, or leave me with ugly marks. Anna's wax and post wax products are excellent.
