My experience at this establishment was disappointing, to say the least (Brief synopsis of me: community-centered, kind, and neurodivergent). I only came in because I was looking for something quick. For starters, there were several times during my appointment where a staff member(s) would either 1) stand by the person doing my nails and talk to them specifically without acknowledging my presence and/or 2) stare at me from a distance with other staff members. Additionally, I noticed other customers staring at me as well. Nothing wrong with the stares perhaps; at the same time, there is a difference between looking at someone briefly and staring someone down. Again, I received "stares." All in all, I would say the "vibe" from a third person perspective (specifically, my perspective) was othering. The only reason I left a one star review is because the person who did my nails was excellent at doing their job. As someone who enjoys getting their nails done, I am very well versed in acrylic nails and what I like in them. So the person (Noah) was meticulous and patient. I enjoyed that. Additionally, I really love the finished product - I did not provide a picture because I want to make sure my words are acknowledged first and foremost. I would not recommend this business to anyone who is similar to my identity: Black, queer, neurodivergent, or (such as myself) ALL the above. Additionally, I would not recommend this establishment to individuals who are new to the world of acrylic nails. Suggestion (if you feel disappointed by this review and you're looking for someone to do your nails): invest in independent nail technicians! After this experience, I have realized that as an intentional kind of person, an independent nail technician may be the best way to go. I enjoy having conversation, and I believe independent nail technician's (depending on who you go to) may be able to provide that intentionality I am looking for. read more

I go to have a color change literally less than 24 hours later and they want to charge $35 just to change the color. When I asked why it was so much they said I don't know...Let me find out because it's typically only $30. Completely blows my mind that it would cost almost just as much to get a color change as it does to get a full acrylic set. They reduced it to $30 and I still left a $5 dollar tip. Ok so first when the guy did my acrylic nails they were very crooked and he filed them way to much leaving them crooked. Also they did not have the color that they showed me on the thing that has all of the options. So I chose another one and they did not have that one either. Also the person that was doing my nails was going WAY TO FAST. And he did not go all the way back to my cuticles. There was literally a gap. But it was not my first time going there my first time I went I had a girl named Risa. And there are two reasons why I rememberd her name. First, it is my grandmothers name. And second, she was the BEST. She is the best nail person I have ever had. She is so nice. And she asks you if you like them unlike the guy that I was talking about in the beginning. The wait was only about 20 minutes. Second, this was such a great experience. And the glass of wine only added to the splendor. It was clean, efficient, and the staff was friendly. I like a gel that stays on longer and the lady who helped me, can't remember her name - maybe Jackie-, explained to me the difference in gels. She said I probably was talking about builder gel and explained how it goes on and how to take it off. I've never had anyone explain because usually we can't really understand one another. She did an excellent job and listened to what I wanted. It's been three weeks since I was there and nails still look great...and I'm pretty rough on them because I work with my hands. So far I have gone to Zen Nail Spa twice. Both times I made an appointment and was helped within a few minutes after my arrival. This place is quite large so if you have a few people looking to get services together, I think this is a great place to go. I don't think I've ever been to a nail salon so busy! Its a really lovely and clean place. They are busy around the turn of the appointments, but they have multiple folks at the front desk so the wait to check in isn't bad. This may have just been the case because my appointment was the first slot when they opened. I came in and got a manicure and pedicure. They did the pedicure first. I chose the spa pedicure and it was fine. I was happy with it. They did a fine job on the French polish. I also got a French manicure. I was pretty happy with it. If I wasn't so hard on my nails it likely would've stayed without chipping for the whole week. They held up pretty well considering my lifestyle.
