And it was true! We did. The parking lot didn't seem packed, but inside was super busy. My lovely wife walked right in and picked out a color. We got right in and started. They offered soft drinks and a literal menu of options. They chairs are the fancy-schmancy massage chairs that really do too many things. Anyway, the whole trip was really nice. This has to be the most inconsistent nail salon I have ever visited. My go to has been the same since 2019(pink and white ombré coffin shape with extra sharp tips). We moved to the area for work and finding a nail salon has been hell. I settle here because Kevin has been the best so far but he rushes and does not listen. I've tried: Kevin, Linda and Cherry for my nails. Kevin has been the most consistent with getting the color and shape correct but the experience has been less than ideal. My last three experiences have been beyond relaxing more like stressful and annoying. If I ever have to settle here again Ooltewah Nail Bar will never see my partner and I again. It seems the speciality for this location is gel overlays and almond/oval shape. It seems to be the go to for most patrons here. Depending on what service you want this may be your place but I did not have a good experience at all. I had acrylic nails and went to have a new set put on. Instead of soaking them off the gentleman proceeded to pry them off with a fake nail tip. He literally ripped off the acrylic nails. I tried to be patient and explain that it was hurting but he just kept on and said just tell me if it hurts . I have been and literally breaking out in a hot sweat from trying not to yell at him. I am here for a conference and could not go with half ripped off nails. The finished work looks nice but having to pay 72 dollars is not ok when having your original nails ruined. I suggest that you soak off your own nails prior to arriving so you can save yourself pain and ruined nails. My nails have never been so sore before. read more

I usually get dip but the last nail tech that I had convinced me to get liquid gel and he did a horrible job. My nails were uneven, he left the gel residue on the side of my nails and didn't clean it up and the top of all of my nails were bulging a little too much. I was also there for two hours and he even asked me if I was in a rush which I wasn't but being there for two hours is crazy for walking out with horribly done nails. I came back and booked an appointment for dip because I didn't like the liquid gel from the last appointment but the new guy I had convinced me to do liquid gel again. I told him about my experience last time and he assured me that it wouldn't take two hours and that he'd do a good job. I agreed. He was right. He did a great job. He was very precise and filed my nail shape perfectly. I asked for almond with a pink french tip. I loved how it turned out. I noticed that they were also trying to convince the lady next to me that was getting dip to do liquid gel instead, she refused. I just find it interesting that 3 of the nail techs were pushing liquid gel on customers. I mean it worked on me but I do like dip even though it does take a little more time. They offered to fix the issue and never mentioned anything about my review . I was provided with the same customer service I received my first visit and she apologized multiple times . I greatly appreciated this and wanted to provide an update with this experience. I really Think it was just the gel polish I had this one time . Megan assisted me and apologized for the service i had received. Needs to say I'm glad I didn't give up on this place because they do phenomenal nails. I have been working weekends and school during the week and recovering from surgery so my nails haven't been done since Spring. My husband and I decided to try ONB this morning. My husband had a pedicure that was above and beyond with great attention to detail and a included stretching his feet and massage. It also came with kind words. My pedicure was rushed and rude with a failed attempt at to hide he was bothered by having to do it. He painfully filed my my toes and left my nails poorly shaped but my skin scraped. He did not even complete taking off the old polish. It is still visible several pages on multiple toes. He then completed an entire nail dip manicure in a lightening 10 minutes. He didn't even wipe away the dust from filing my nails. Some are thick, some are see through but not are well shaped. I honestly could have done better doing them myself. He was too concerned and preoccupied with not missing some lady on her way in. I guess she must tip good. Joke is on him though. I tip VERY well and my husband's pedicurist just did that out. I will never go back to this establishment. The nail tech was one of the rudest people I have ever gotten service from. She was not gentle and pushed my hands from place to place. When I didn't like the color she rolled her eyes and shrugged her shoulders. When I sat at her station , the towel she had my hands on was dirty and still had nail clippings from another client. She dropped the hand warmer on the floor and thru it on the table right on top of my hands. I have never had such poor service anywhere I have ever been. read more

Hello my daughter brought me to this place thinking it was the best place to come. When I got there they asked me what I wanted done and I replied. As I sat there and watch everybody get their nails done and pedicures everyone got offered drinks and wine as water not once did they offer me anything to drink. Or my daughter . That's was fine I just felt like they they didn't even care about us they messed up my daughters nails really bad she was pretty upset she paid over $100. Never again will I go there I do not recommend this place so don't waste your time going there find somewhere else to go right they will treat you better. I really wanted to like this place because of the great things I have heard about them. I've been twice now and was disappointed each time. The first time I went in a couple weeks ago for a gel manicure and was able to sit right down and get started. I didn't have gel on going in the first time. I was glad to see the gal I had get the manicure tools out of sterile packaging. However, she seemed to be in a rush (they were not busy) and did not do good work on my cuticles at all. While she was doing my nails, she asked me if I wanted to have my eyebrows waxed, and when I said no, her response was "well you need it", which I thought was super rude. I ended up with a mediocre manicure, but decided to try one more time, hoping it was a fluke. I went in again yesterday, and my experience was worse. I had the gel on my nails from the last time, and instead of soaking them off, the lady I had (different from the previous visit) picked off my polish with her own fingernails. I've read and heard from other nail tech's that this is terrible for your nails, so I was surprised this was happening. While picking off my polish, she told me I should do the dip powder instead. I said no thanks, I have tried it before and it just wasn't for me. She started shaking her head and making condescending remarks, asking me if I had done this before and telling me the powder is better. She kept shaking her head the entire time she was picking my polish off. At the end of the manicure, she rubbed some lotion on my arms, not the hand/arm massage it was supposed to be. When I looked at the finished product, I noticed a couple of the nails in my left hand were filed at a slant. I didn't say anything as I just wanted to get out of there to be honest. I came here because i've heard amazing things. I am getting married in two days so this experience is extremely unfortunate. Bare in mind, I may have just got the wrong person. I've gotten acrylics many times in the past. These are by the worst I have ever had. I have had to scrape off the hard arcylix stuff off of all my hands, my fingers had it on about halfway to my knuckles. 5 out of ten of my french tips are not even straight. Used to be a loyal customer here, but recently have had terrible experiences the last few times I have been. I pay lots of money for good nails and half the times the designs aren't good. Was in recently, got my nails done, and the designs are just awful, could have easily gotten the girl who's great at designs to do it. My nails are scraped up, already looks like I need a fill, and there duo residue all over my hands that they never clean off. They don't care about you comfort and will split your skin when filing your nails ans it will bleed and they will just keep going. One of the worst experiences I've ever had at a nail salon. First of all, the place is filthy. I'm almost positive they don't sanitize their tools. I don't understand how a place can stay open under those circumstances. It looks like it hasn't been cleaned since the day it opened. In addition, I got an upgraded pedicure and he didn't even massage my feet, only my legs. A similar situation happened with my manicure. He used cream on my arms for a second and did not touch my hands. He did a terrible job on my cuticles. I chose a light color. We decide to get acrylics and on the phone the lady said that it was 30$ and the man who did my friends nails said " he used the electronic nail filer and was pressing on the nails and side of my nail hard. It felt like he was breaking my skin" the person who did my nails was very nice about it he genuinely cared for my nails but some of the nail's length are different. When we got done and went to pay, like I said before the lady on the phone said it was 30 but the it turned to 35 and when we asked why the man said "the nail length" witch did not make sense because we got them shorter. But a year ago I got mani petty it was great they nice and they just opened up. But my visit with my friend was very different. I got a gel manicure here last Monday and the woman rushed through it. It wasn't very relaxing but rather just getting it finished. About two days later, my manicure started peeling around the edges. Not even a week later and it has chipped and peeled off. I will not return to Ooltewah Nail Bar, the convenience is not worth the quality of their work. I'll gladly drive down to Nails at NorthShore for a more professional job. read more

Saw the few 5-star reviews for Ooltewah Nail Bar and decided to take my mother to try it. Beautiful place, very new, and clean. Our pedicures and technicians were stellar. However, the experience was only partially relaxing. They kept trying to push the more expensive pedicures even after several declines. The manager came around halfway through and nagged my mother for what seemed like 5-10 minutes about how she needed to do her cuticles, saying "no more mama", just talking and not leaving us alone. All that was fine, but it the ridiculous added upon itself when I looked over into the pedicure area next to us and one of the male workers had some tool over his crotch pretending to wag it in one of the female worker's faces. My mother got an eyebrow wax, and the waxing technician left wax on her face. Didn't bother to wipe it up. There was a "get it over with" vibe. When we went to pay, 4/5 of the workers were standing around the computer, looking at what we were paying. The same "crotch guy" rang us up and started laughing about something and pointing at the computer. Who knows what that was about. Again, great facility, and WONDERFUL pedicures--our technicians were so sweet--but the rest of it just brought it down. I've even gotten my toe cut at another place and had a better experience. read more

But if you go during a busy time, be prepared for the possibility of being abandoned by your nail technician for several minutes with toes wrapped in cold towels while they "wax somebody".
