I had a great experience at Zen Head Spa! It was very easy to book an appointment online day of, and you can pay in advance either in full (including gratuity) or put a deposit down and pay when you arrive. Plenty of parking and places to eat and drink in the center. I purchased the Shizuka service. You get to have cozy blankets which is nice. The first 30 minutes is scalp massaging, scratching and the hair washing. After that, they wrap your hair in a steam bonnet while they start the facial portion. I was worried about the bonnet but it was really comfortable and not loud. The facial consists of a great massage, a hot towel, and a cold gel mask with jade rollers. While the mask is on, your arms get massaged. The mask and bonnet are removed and the massage continues with your neck and shoulders. My girl did an AMAZING job. I was really impressed with the quality. They adjust the chair to sit you up to really get into your muscle. My blow dry was 15 minutes and I couldn't do what she did in 15 at home. I asked for a round brush versus straight and it came out so nice. I was sad I had no where to go after. I have been to other scalp massage places before, and this is ranks towards the top. Everything was perfect! This was my first time doing the head spa and had been meaning to try a place for so long! I am SO GLAD I picked Zen! They were doing a 15% off special if you booked for two for valentines day. My boyfriend and I went together and he enjoyed his experience as well. The minute you step in the ambiance is extremely relaxing and they check if you want to use the restroom before you start...which I really appreciate as someone who always has to go pee it was thoughtful! The spa is very clean and orderly. We booked the 60 min service and I have no critiques at all! It was so incredible, the staff were very kind, quiet and attentive. They pay attention to all the details such as where to put your items and changing into a towel wrap. They even put a long pillow under your knees/legs for comfort. The head and face massages were so thorough and I never wanted them to end! The scratching on the head during the wash was perfect. The lighting was off/low and peaceful tones were playing on the TV. They have curtains so you are separated from others but get to be with your party. They wash your face, massage, do a face mask and cold jade rollers as well. Every detail is thought out and I loved it! The smells of all their products were very relaxing as well! I had read about head spas lacking on the hair drying. I have long thick hair so I figured I would be leaving with half wet hair. 15 minutes is never enough to dry my hair. WOW was I wrong. They have those fancy dyson air dryers and my hair was brushed, dried and oiled within 15 mins and I was shocked! They even have cold water, mints, and little candies in the waiting area while my boyfriend waited for my hair drying. The owner was extremely nice, gifted me a jade roller and gua sha which was so kind!! I can't wait to do it at home! Paying in full online was super simple and I got to include the tip. I could go on and on....we LOVED our experience and will definitely be back! My boyfriend does not usually do "spa" activities but he is dying to come back next month! Each time I've done the Shizuaka 90 min head spa treatment. The ladies who work here are friendly and effective. The ambience is calm with zen music . While not private rooms, there is reasonable space between the lined up salon seats and the dark black out curtained ambience provides plenty of privacy. You get a full scalp treatment with calming aromatherapy and a remarkably thorough upper back massage (thank you Yuka!) Of the 3 headspas I've been to, this one really does give the best value for your money, and of course it doesn't hurt that you leave the spa with beautiful blown-out hair as sleek as a saluki's, perfect if you're headed somewhere nice or have plans later in the day. My group and I had booked using their Black Friday Promotion ($125 normally, $90 with discount) and put down the deposit. The service itself was OK and the experience was average, I wished that the water was warmer (it was lukewarm) and the lady that worked on my hair was nice. Unfortunately, the checkout experience was abysmal. The owner had given us a nonsense excuse stating that because we used the promotional price, we would need to pay for the difference in cash. Dude, just tell us that you didn't want to pay for credit card fees. In addition to not being able to pay for the balance on card, there was no ability for us to tip on card either. Luckily I had cash on hand but I wish they were transparent up front on this as this seemed very shady. Services were nice but if you're planning on booking here, it would be in your best interest to pay the entire when you book and tipping in cash. I had a good experience during my 1st time visit. Eventhough it was a bit confusing in the beginning when I check in and didn't know what to expect. I didn't know that I was going to be sharing a room or space with another person. The place is very nice and clean. The ambiance is nice. My favorite was the neck and shoulder massage, I wish it was longer. The pressure was good, the scalp massage also good, but could use more pressure on it. Oh, I had the Sakura package (45 min) Overall, I like it and enjoy it. I like the smells all of the products they're using, from the shampoo, conditioner, mask, lotion and the hair products. I don't know what happened in the beginning, I was with this girl (I think her name was Win, but then she got pulled out and 10-15 min later, someone else came in to replace her (which I think it was the owner that replaced her) Just a few tips if u come to this place, remove any jewelry (necklace), and wear a blouse or shirt with buttons, so u can hv an open upper body (which I think the place should provide a top to cover your body (just like if u go to a spa or reflexology place), so not just a blanket covering your body. I found this place on IG and booked an appointment with a deposit. I got the Shizuka for 75 minutes. Their products have a very strong smell which I loved. If you're sensitive let them know. The girl was very thorough with my face, hair, neck and back. I loved the breakdown of time for each area spent. The pressure was perfect and she checked in with me to make sure I liked it. At the end, she blow dried my hair and asked me for feedback. I got a little bottle of water, too. They don't have the water ring around the head but I don't feel the need for it because the girl was so thorough with her scalp massage. The owner also explained to me their style is different. The facility was very nice and clean. Each person was separated by curtains. I have sensitive skin and haven't reacted to anything and it's been the whole day. The shop is located at the far right of the plaza and there's ample parking along the side. Very much worth the price I paid. I'll be coming back. read more
