I was recently diagnosed with Bell's Palsy. I was placed on antiviral and steroid medication by the treating physician for 7 days. During that period of time I saw absolutely no change or improvement of my symptoms. Right side of my face is paralyzed. I opted to try acupuncture. After 1 session my family saw an improvement and I could feel the improvement. For the first time in over 7 days I could blink on my affected side without having to use my fingers to keep my eye closed. I have had 3 acupuncture with stimulation, cupping and additional therapy (light massage/hot sauna) and I can feel a different with each session I complete. I am new to acupuncture. I have had back pain since I was a kid (I am now 53) and I have had chronic sciatic pain for the last 3 years in my right leg. I have had an epidural and that did not help. My doctor recommended acupuncture. So far I have had 3 sessions. I have mixed results so far but I was told up front that since I have had these issues for a long time, the results may be slow. The only thing I would change about this place is their scheduler Jason. There was an issue with my referral from the VA and when he called to tell me about he was laughing at the situation. I am going through serious health issues and I do not appreciated people laughing at my situation. After updating my review Jason called to let me know Zen would no longer service me due to my review. He also stated his wife is the provider and and very upset because of my review. My appointment was cancelled. He was aggressive and talked down to me as if I was a child. He even raised his voice. I wish I could attach the audio to the review. He is extremely rude and disrespectful. He stated due to my review I would not receive the same treatment therefore he would advise VA to refer me to another establishment. He also went as far as stating he was taking his apology back. The VA indicated to call TRIWEST and report provider, as they do not do business with unprofessional providers. The provider is amazing and very caring it is unfortunate what one bad element can do for an establishment. I was in no part the cause of the misunderstanding I have the voicemail and email from the VA stating it was miscommunication between the VA and the provider. I would be perfectly fine continuing my treatment at this facility, since I have no direct contact with Jason but he is the one that decided to be immature and state the facility would no longer service me. I went ahead and filed a formal complaint with the VA. They are extremely disappointed to hear the outcome of this situation. The VA stated they would remove this provider from their list of providers. read more
