Breakfast plate with cheese grits, toast, and scrambled eggs
Michaela S.

I was in town for a quick overnight trip, and wanted some breakfast before hitting the road. I found this place on a whim honestly. I searched for breakfast spots, and chose Zeig's Cafe because it's not a chain and I wanted something made to order. I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of food and the portions. I ordered a breakfast plate with grits, scrambled eggs, and toast. It was hot, fresh, and hit the spot. I literally couldn't finish everything. I ordered take out because I had a long drive ahead of me. The dining area was small but quaint, and had plenty of seating available. The waitress that took my order was sweet, accommodating, and made sure that I had plenty of napkins, cutlery, and jelly/butter in my bag before leaving. When I'm in town I wouldn't mind dining here again with a friend and trying out their lunch options, because I was so impressed with their breakfast menu. Definitely recommend checking out this local place. Breakfast did not disappoint!

Coffee! Bottomless, fresh and such a smooth taste!

If you're looking for scratch-made biscuits, fluffy pancakes, meaty bacon and perfectly cooked eggs - this is the place! The owners are kind and generous with the delicious coffee! It was an incredible experience! So reasonable too. Hubs got the big breakfast and it was huge! ($9.99) I didn't see a breakfast that suited me and they were happy to let me make my own off the extras menu. My 1 egg, biscuits and gravy and hash browns were perfect! (Under $6) Would totally stop again!

Friendly family and family owned cafe. Great breakfast from here on par with Cracker Barrel's breakfast but more value.

Great local spot for breakfast - much better than Waffle House or Denny's. Great biscuits.

The ladies of Brunswick are really knocking it outta the park when it comes to customer service!…read more Background A trusted friend recommended this spot, so I decided to give them a try while I was in town. Exterior They are located near FLETC in the same plaza with Sally's Cop Shop and Pizza Hut. There's lots of free parking. Interior The interior is pretty barebones but the space is neat and clean. Customer Service I arrived about 35 minutes to closing. As soon as I hit the threshold, I was greeted with a big smile and a cheerful, 'Welcome to Rockstar!' I apologized for stopping in so close to closing time and explained that I just wanted to check out the menu. The associate (who turned out to be Logan, the owner) told me that there would be no problem taking my order and that "I was the customer and they'd been waiting on me." I was so charmed by her warm and welcoming attitude. Price / Value Regular hot dogs are $4.50 and specialty dogs are $6.00. I got a combo (regular dog, fries and a drink) for $9.00, but wanted tap water so technically $8.00 (fries are $3.50) before tax. I think the items are priced well. For those they think the prices are steep, I say keep in mind, these aren't just regular ole hot dogs, these are pretty elevated hot dogs. Food They had a ton of hot dogs to choose from. Logan told me that they're getting new menus because they just added five new dogs - among them are a cheese dog and a low country dog topped with real crab meat! I can't eat shellfish, but I love the sound of it. Lol. I asked about the various dogs and discovered the Tina G and and Christine BG are so named because that's the way their namesakes, her cousin and Mom, respectively, take their dogs. One of the days I'm gonna have a menu item named after me at somebody's establishment! I opted to go with a slaw dog with fries. Logan gave me a complimentary dog as well. I forgot to tell them no yellow mustard on the slaw dog. The hot dog was DELICIOUS! They did everything right. The bun was steamed. The dog, itself, had a snappy exterior and the generous topping of scratch-made coleslaw was coarse, cold and tangy - the perfect accompaniment. The french fries (shoestring) were hot, crispy and dusted with the perfect amount of salt. I had a chance to chat more while my dogs were being prepared and I discovered that in addition to hot dogs and Italian sausages, they have burgers and, as of today, they have chicken sandwiches. The description sounded heavenly (hand-breaded chicken breast filet, topped with lettuce, pickles and Tzatziki sauce). She also reminded me that they have breakfast (starting at 7:30am) and the menu includes homemade pancakes. I saw that another reviewer had mentioned various specials on Thursdays and she explained that each Thursday they have a special dish - like last week's was red beans and rice. I also noticed that they have a vegan dog. Overall Both the food and the customer service were outstanding! I will definitely try to stop back by to try some of their other offerings (the #11 Italian sounds tasty) before I leave town. Highly recommend!

Agio Italian & Steak - Fettuccine Alfredo

We were seated promptly with plenty of attention from the waiter. The dishes (I.e., Lasagna and salmon) both came out in a reasonable amount of time and had unique and pleasant taste. The two desserts were also wonderful. When we are back in this area we will make it a point to return to this restaurant.

The atmosphere feels more like a slightly upgraded Denny's than a restaurant aspiring to anything particularly sophisticated. The service was strangely awkward throughout -- nothing overtly terrible, just an uncomfortable lack of polish and experience that weighed heavily on the meal. For an Italian-style establishment, vegetarian options were surprisingly meager. Diners seeking meatless options simply don't have much from which to choose. Even the tomato bisque was made with meat. The Fettuccine Alfredo was underwhelming. Alfredo should be rich, creamy, and deeply satisfying; this version lacked the depth and richness that make the dish worth ordering. What makes all of this particularly disappointing is the disconnect between the restaurant's presentation and the actual experience. The exterior suggests something elevated, but the food, selection, and service simply don't deliver. Ultimately, if the quality of the meal, the variety of choices, and the service are all surpassed by what you can get at Olive Garden, that's probably a pretty good indication that the restaurant needs to take a hard look at what it's trying to be, and what it's actually delivering.

Agio Italian & Steak - Interior of the restaurant. Not what you'd expect for an Italian restaurant but it fits the theme of the overall rebranding of the hotel.
