Last Friday we went to Ridgefield and stopped at the Starliner. We ordered a cheeseburger and cod fish sandwich. Both were great. I got the cheeseburger that came with fries. I got a giant burger and a large bag of delicious fries. It was so good. It was difficult to bite into the cheeseburger as it was so big. A really nice size patty. Like in the old days. I will definitely go back! Just think that toasting the bun on the grill would be great and make the burger perfect. read more

Walked into this dimly lit store and the owner about broke his leg jumping up to tell me the horrible fall of downtown Ridgefield and its small businesses. He told me they had a nice selection of wine and beer and to let him know if there is anything he could carry for me. I live 45 min away so probably not. I bought some gummy bears and dog treats ( I honestly felt bad and wanted to buy something). The gummy bears were so stale and hard and when I looked at the buy date, it was in 2022!!!!!!! It's 2025 for fuck sake. I decided to check the dog treats. Same buy date. I love my dogs too much to feed them absolute crap so I threw everything in the garbage. This store isn't big. Maybe instead of watching Netflix and doing NOTHING, you can check the dates of the items for sale in your store and move the empty boxes out of the way. Just a thought. read more

Our family was treated amazingly. What awesome folks. Their convenience store had a great selection of treats and little toys for the kiddos. Their restaurant area was kitch and the food was great. The mozzarella sticks were among the best I've had in years. If you have a nut allergy, ask them not to give you to surprise Reese's (nice geature, though). My wife is a french fries snob and loved theirs. My tiny 5-year-old ate all of her chicken fingers - which is a miracle. Great! read more

My son lives in Ridgefield and we absolutely love this little town, that is now booming. You have to time it right to be able to eat in the back room of this grocery store. It's definitely a hidden gem. We all had the halibut fish and chips and they were some of the best! The coating on the fish is not too thick or greasy and the tartar sauce is homemade, which is absolutely some of the best we've had. Supply chain issues hinder some of the products that are available, but if you're ever in town, check out this local place. I've always had good service and great food. read more

We came up to check out the farmers market in Ridgefield....We were hungry and weren't sure if what so we checked out the local reviews...We chose this place but was disappointed. You walk in and it's a convenient store but you walk towards the right side of the building & into the "restaurant/bar" area. Super cute with all the sports memorabilia...Great Tap Options (if you're into beer) and menu options limited but deep fried isn't too bad. The service was not what I would expect since they were in the store portion except to bring us our order. The burgers were okay but presented well. Next time we are in the area, we will see what other options are available. read more

I have not yet bought groceries or u-bake pizza, but I have visited their tap room with an excellent selection of craft beers. Rumor has it that they also have wine and a great burgers. I can't believe that there are only 2 reviews. This is a great little spot. Pub options are limited in Ridgefield. The tap room is slightly hidden with an entrance within the grocery store. We tried a variety of beers including a porter, stout Mexican dark lager and Dog Fish Head 60 Minutes. All great, and small batch brews. I will definitely be back. read more

Okay to be fully honest, part of why I like this place is because I love driving there. I think Ridgefield is so cute and I skip the highway so that I get here the scenic way. That being said, though, they do make a hell of a meal. I've had both the burgers and the to-go sandwiches and both are delicious and cheap. My aunt and I each got a burger and fries and we were stuffed--the burgers appeared to be homemade and the fries came from frozen but were perfectly crisp and salty. Don't come on holidays though--no food those days! read more

Explore this store, it is multifaceted. Grocery store portion: Service is great, has a nice ma and pa store feel. Selection is good for the town, especially for drinks, snacks and chocolate. Sandwich/burger/hot food portion: Pleasantly surprised how good the burgers are. All toppings are fresh and items are made to order. I recommend the chicken sandwich! It was salivating! This place has everything, being new in town I love the locally owned business aspect and despite it being a few minutes after closing they were happy to stay open a wee bit longer to scoop my kids some ice-cream. Now I can't prove it, but I believe the owner watches you through a two-way mirror in the beer section. I get that he has all the right to do this, but why not just help me find a beer instead of seeing if I'm a thief or not?! Why assume I'm a thief? I've been in there numerous times and you still treat me and my wife like we're shoplifters! It just gets old after awhile and I'm done shopping there. Other cons: dust settling on food products! We've bought chips/snacks from them that have been sitting on the shelf way beyond expiration! Pros: I go there because the guy sells a small but decent selection of wine and he roasts his own beans. Word of advice to the owner: Smile! Be friendly! Who cares if people have ripped you off, your business is going to die unless you improve your customer service! read more

I stumbled upon this gem while wandering about on a break from my work. 15 beer/cider selections, thoughtfully chosen. Owner, Tony is, in fact a delightful, welcoming person. Cozy informal ambiance. Food is decent and reasonably priced. Nice selection of beers and wines in the store side. A great hang out for cyclists, Refuge visitors and locals (especially the new locals nearby). To start off, I generally like to support small businesses but after living here for over 2 years and frequenting the starliner often; I can't support this one any longer. If you're not someone that grew up in Ridgefield, the owner has a bad attitude and watches you like a hawk (like he assumes everyone is a shop lifter).Also, you have to be careful with what you buy here, because unlike the corner market, this place leaves expired food on the shelves (seriously, dust covered!) and then marks up everything pretty outrageously. I'll be taking my business to the other market where at least they smile and say hello. read more

They have the best made-to-order sandwiches; a great selection of locally roasted whole bean coffees; lots of organic food choices; beer and wine and sodas and juices to go on for days; take and bake pizzas; let's not forget fresh scoops of ice cream; farm fresh eggs; the fancy chocolates at the register never disappoint. Everything in this place is either covered in dust, or expired. When brought to the owner's (Tony) attention, they said "yeah well expired food won't kill you." Someone needs to give them a lesson on food safety as well as customer service. I highly encourage you to shop anywhere else. This place is disgusting. read more
