I assure you they are not. From Tessera (pretty billboards and that is it!), Azure, Rembrandt, Premier, and others, it varied from constant follow-ups, overpriced (some by $20,000), wrong designs from what we planned, and poor communications. At the point of giving up, we saw Desert Luxury Pools truck driving on the road in April, and decided one more chance to see who can get it right. Dan came over and listened to the design we wanted, and gave some recommendations to make it even better. His attitude was, "100% yes can", and we will work with the HOA and Riverside County with no problems. I thought he was pulling my leg because everyone else seemed to have some issues with the HOA or County, some stating it could take months to get approved. Within a week, Dan's design was ready, and said if all is good, lets move forward with demo. Pete and Dan both design and build the pools, and we asked if they will be able to build this within 3 months because everyone was saying HOAs and the county take so long. They know the guidelines in advance and stay within what is expected and it should go through smoothly. I thought they were kidding. As soon as we signed, everything went so smoothly, it was unbelievable. Within 2 weeks working with the HOA , it was approved; the county had a couple of questions, and withing 2 weeks they were ready to go. Whenever we had a question, they would respond within minutes NOT DAYS OR WEEKS. We never, ever had to follow-up with questions because they would always answer right away. Here we are 3 months later swimming in our beautiful pool. A few special mentions to their amazing staff; Rome is a work horse and a pleasant guy who gets in and gets it done. He never once complained about doing the work, and was very respectful of your property. Jared is another guy who got the plumbing and electric up and working, while giving recommendations on placement that worked awesome for us. Sandy in the office worked behind the scenes making the magic with the orders and paperwork for county and HOA. Pete the owner is very involved and always coming on site checking the work and communicating with us. The contracted team they had doing the work were amazing, and sorry we don't recall all their names, but they all worked hard and quick. You can take my advice, and just skip to the front of the line with Desert Luxury Pools, or go through many calls, no replies, over-priced estimates, poor customer service, wrong designs, and attitude trying to find another pool construction company, and be disappointed. Their price was better than the others and never, ever gave an issue with the design. They are the type of company and people that if you dream it, they will make it possible without nickel and diming you to death. Their communications are spot on by always letting you know what is going on that week, and respond to any questions or concerns. This is not my first rodeo in having work done on a house and when you find a company that is awesome, you recommend them. I highly recommend Desert Luxury Pools.

When we moved to Palm Springs in 2021, the house we purchased had a pool, which was a first for us. It was built in 2015. I incorrectly assumed the weekly pool service guy was taking care of the maintenance. For four years I watched him come once a week and spend 5-10 minutes skimming, brushing, testing the water, and occasionally adding a chemical. In 2025, I decided to take on this maintenance task. With the help of instructional Youtube videos and regular free water testing with chemical guidance from our local pool supply store (yes, the one that begins with "L"), I asked myself why I had been paying the guy so much money for 5 minutes of his time a week. We decided this year that it was time to have the pool resurfaced but with a pebble surface instead of plaster. At 11 years old, this plaster surface had reached its end of life. I also wanted to add the Hayward Prologic Upgrade kit so I could control the pool with an app on my phone. Several people recommended Bella Blue Water to do the job. The owner of the company, Mario, came out and took measurements and showed me samples of pebble finishes. He was so nice, professional, and quite knowledgeable of the pool building business. Mario made several trips out or called during the project just to make sure things were going well. Toward the end of the project, there was a little minor issue with a subcontractor. I let Mario know of the problem and he sent his supervisor out right away to take care of it. When Mario's team finished with the resurface and refilled the pool, they came back out to balance the water with chemicals. Bella Blue Water's supervisor showed me the new control box and got me up and running with the app. He also did something I didn't quite understand at the time. He adjusted the valves to and from the pump, something that never had been done since before we bought the house. Before the resurface project, the pool maintenance guy I parted ways with last year had the pump running at 100% all day long and I think the valve to the surface skimmer was the only skimmer valve that was on. The return valves were all wide open which made the outlets in the pool feel like spa jets. I never questioned it or changed them. That was 8 weeks ago and every time we get in our new pebble pool, we are so happy with the way it turned out, from the tile we chose to the color of pebble to the ability to operate and monitor the system from my phone. Bella Blue Water did a beautiful job! We are now using the variable speeds of the pump and don't have to listen to it run so loud all day long and are using far less electricity. I am surprised the pump didn't burn out long ago. The bottom and surface of both pool and spa are much easier to keep clean with both bottom and surface skimmers working, all thanks to this wonderful supervisor Mario has leading his team who took the time to properly adjust the valves and speed of the pump. So if you are looking to have work done on your pool, Bella Blue Water is who you should call. I will say, on the afternoon of day 1 of demolition with jack hammers going and dust so thick, I asked myself "what the hell have I done?" But the crew cleans up the yard daily before they leave and the end result is this beautiful new pool! Thank you, Mario, and many kudos to your team!

"From Outdated to Resort-Worthy: Lobo Pools Delivered Perfection"…read more When we purchased our home, the pool was in disrepair--tiles falling off, dated finishes, and none of the elegance the property deserved. We lived with it for two summers before deciding it was time to transform it into something extraordinary. That's when we brought in Lobo Pools. Joel and his team delivered far beyond a remodel; they created a work of art. The craftsmanship is meticulous, the tilework precise and intricate, and the overall design sleek and modern. By day, the pool feels like a private resort; by night, the new lighting system turns it into an illuminated showpiece, sophisticated and dramatic. Having grown up in Los Angeles, I'll admit I can be particular about design and quality. With Joel, I never had to be. He was on-site daily, ensuring every detail was perfect, and his team was consistently attentive, professional, and highly skilled. The result is nothing short of spectacular--a pool that feels elevated, timeless, and worthy of the setting. Pricing was refreshingly fair given the caliber of the work, and the entire process was seamless. What was once a tired, outdated pool is now the crown jewel of our home. If you're considering a pool remodel, Lobo Pools is in a class of its own. Joel brings vision, artistry, and integrity to the table, and the finished product speaks for itself: refined, luxurious, and built to last.

He then made another $5050 to reinstall an entire new system again after I agreed to pay him before Farmers even took care of the claim. Sergio hired a friend, Jaime an installer who had only done work ONLY inside gate guarded communities, I was the first install job where I was not secure in a gate guarded community. Sergio immediately questioned him knowing this was suspicious and when we started investigating, I shared all of the negative reviews from Yelp, and he said he never vetted him. They broke into my backyard, ruined my gates and professionally stole it and hauled it over the 5-foot block wall and out of my yard. I have 5-to-8-foot walls around my entire home, this was not easy to obtain access and certainly to remove with the weight going over the block walls. Sergio contacted the police department and placed a report since I was two hours away. My neighbor has been reviewing the camera footage to hopefully catch and convict, but the police department included nothing really happens criminally anymore! Sergio offered to cover my $1000 deductible, but when it came to the final payment, he didn't honor the commitment he provided me with in writing. In fact, after looking into the cost of the equipment he pocketed $5,000+ for both installations. I spent thousands on deductibles, new security and camera system for my yard, additional expenses to take time off of work, gas and all of the work with the added stress of feeling completely violated by allowing this to happen. To top it off his father has been cleaning my pool and we have had algae and mold of the tile which I have asked to be cleaned in multiple communications even when he was on his honeymoon. I just can't get over the lack of integrity, so I terminated him. In addition, when I asked for my other pump to be reinstalled (which was new) he told me he got rid of it. It was new and most likely sold!! He sent me a text message offering to pay the $1000 deductible but after demanding the full payment saying that I agreed to pay for the new system. This was a painful and expensive lesson be careful who you hire and who they bring onto your property as this has cost me sleepless nights and thousands of dollars!!!!

I was quite impressed with the Yelp reviews of Melo's Pools. I sent a quote request via Yelp and had a response within 10 minutes! Appointment was set for five days later. Albert and Pablo arrived to my home on time. They measured, took pictures and assessed the pool along with the pool pump system. We discussed ideas, timelines, finance options and they left me with a book that contained sample ideas. The following week I met both of them at their showroom to look at the actual tiles and find a match for the pebble. Albert and Pablo were great at making suggestions and giving me space without any pressures of making a decision, signing a contract, etc. A couple weeks later I signed contract and a demo date was set. The crew was on time the first day, and that stayed true until end of project. To no surprise there was a leak detected after opening up the plaster. Mauricio, the project manager, brought it to my attention immediately. He showed me the issue, explained what needed to be done, had a plan ready to go and with my sign off they had the issue fixed expeditiously and the project was kept on track. As a matter of fact, the project was completed a week earlier! Even my neighbors commented how quickly they worked and how great the pool turned out. From Day 1 to the end, the entire crew was respectful. Mauricio kept me updated on the progress of the project. Even after the project, Pablo and Mauricio came back (each separately) to ensure all was good. As I explained to them both, the tile is even more beautiful in the daylight and the colored grout was a perfect match! Worth every penny. Customer service is above and beyond at Melo's. Working with Melo's was effortless. Thanks to Melo's, I love my pool again. Thank you, Albert, Pablo, Mauricio, Art and crew!

Before moving forward, we obtained three bids, including one from Melo's Pools and two other pool companies. While Melo's quote came in between the other two, we felt confident they would work closely with us to create our dream pool. Their detailed project timeline and professionalism gave us confidence from the start. We had already selected a glass waterline tile and needed expert guidance in choosing a pool finish that would be both beautiful and durable for years to come. Our Project Manager, Joaquin, recommended that we visit the NPT showroom in Palm Desert to explore our options. Following his expert advice, we selected a Stonescapes Mini Pebble finish in an aqua-blue color that perfectly complemented our tile choice. Throughout the demolition and remodeling process, Joaquin was always available to answer questions and provide guidance. His professionalism, confidence, and attention to detail helped ease any concerns and reassured us that our project was in capable hands. The day before demolition, Gabriel from the Melo's team arrived to drain the pool. The following morning, another crew arrived promptly at 7:00 a.m. to remove the old plaster finish and ceramic tile. That same week, Melo's tile crew installed our beautiful new glass tile and worked with us to create custom accents on the spa seating area, spa steps, and pool entry steps. Once the tile work was completed, another crew arrived as scheduled to apply the new Stonescapes Mini Pebble finish. After the finish was installed and the pool was refilled, Carlos from Melo's took over the startup and curing process. For the next six weeks, Carlos visited two to three times per week to ensure the new finish cured properly and that the water chemistry remained perfectly balanced. Carlos's professionalism, friendliness, thoroughness, and expertise in pool chemistry were truly impressive. He not only maintained the pool meticulously but also took the time to teach us how to properly care for and adjust the water once the startup period was complete. Throughout the entire renovation, Joaquin and the Melo's team maintained regular communication, ensuring that we were informed every step of the way. Every member of the team was professional, courteous, and genuinely focused on delivering an exceptional customer experience. Our newly renovated pool was delivered in perfect working order, and the results are absolutely stunning. We could not be happier with the finished product or our experience working with Melo's Pools. We highly recommend Albert Melo, Joaquin, Carlos, and the entire Melo's Pools team. We wouldn't trust any other company with our pool needs.
