Ordered through GrubHub after driving 11 hours from Boston MA only to have them give the driver the wrong order! I was told sorry either come get it or get a refund. So I had to drive back into town to pick it up only to get there and it was STILL wrong. More waiting ensued. When I finally got back to the hotel with our order it was short a chicken tender after paying for a 20 piece. This was at 8pm and they were NOT busy. NO excuse for that. Lesson learned. Next time I'm home I'll order from somewhere else where they take care in what they do. And don't have masks hanging around their necks or down on their chin. read more

Pretty good food. Chicken tenders were very good. Perhaps a little overcooked but still good. The hot sauce was really good. Fries seasoned well but could have used a few seconds longer on the fryer. Chicken sandwich was well seasoned and good flavor. Prices are a bit high and the menu board is hard to read. Service was friendly and food came out fast at noon. read more

The good: the food is actually good. The bad & the ugly: I've been here several times, and the last two times I've gotten the house salad with fried chicken. Unfortunately, I'm allergic to cucumbers, and so I asked if they could make it without them and they said yes. Last time I was there, I ended up getting the salad with cucumbers, so they remade it. (The woman assured me that the "remade the whole salad"...did they think picking the cucumbers out would EVER work?) I didn't tell them I was allergic when I first ordered, I just said "without cucumbers," so I just let it go and decided to remember to point out my allergy next time. Tonight, my fiancé went through the drive through and got me the salad without cucumbers. When he said without cucumbers, the drive through attendant left for a moment and returned (my fiancé presumed he was asking if they could do that). When he said they could do that, he said okay, and mentioned that I was allergic. He was assured it would be made without cucumbers. Lo and behold, he gets home, and there are cucumbers in the salad. It's not worth the drive out there to get a new one, so I'll just eat that $8 (no pun intended), but it is frightening to me to know that this company cares so little about customers' allergies. Every other restaurant I've been to takes allergies very seriously, and while they obviously can't avoid the ingredients existing together in the kitchen, they should be able to make a salad that doesn't include one simple ingredient. I'm not disappointed in the food quality; again, the chicken is great. But I just wish I could actually eat the food I buy. We won't be back. read more

Get the wings. I've had Zaxby's once before but it was just a salad with the regular chicken bits. I felt like that wasn't really fair. My daughter and husband go there often for daddy/baby dates. They go on and on about how good the wings are. We are in the Covid19 pandemic so we got take out. The service was outstanding and the young lady that took our order was patient with us since I wasn't as familiar with the sauces. We got tongue torch and nuclear. They were pretty big wings, they were cooked well and not overdone. The tongue torch sauce was not as hot as I expected but the nuclear was more like the hot wing I was expecting. We were there on 12-3-17 and what a change from the time they opened. The good is that the line is shorter then when they opened and that could be because of several factors. When they opened the food was hot and fresh the chicken wings were crisp then when we were there after waiting 20 min. For are food the wings were Luke warm and soggy. And even though they just opened it was clean even with the crowds but on this Sunday the tables were dirty and food on the floor being the go getter I am I wiped the table off with some napkins, the problem is while we were in it was not busy so there was time to clean up some. I love the place and have been going for years when I lived in the south and was super happy when they opened up in Winchester but if they don't turn it around I won't be going back, it would be a shame if it want away but for the price and what I was served it's not worth it, but if they can get the standards back I don't have a problem spending the money. read more

Still some startup issues here. We went on a Wednesday night about 6 pm. This location is constrained by the lot it's on; the drive thru line can block entrance into the parking lot, and drive thru can move very slowly due to customization options and menu diversity. We managed to get in after a couple of minutes, and went in due to the line at drivethru. We ordered chicken fingers and a salad, and sat down to wait. When we entered, several people commented to expect a long delay (in one case up to 40 mins) and that proved to be correct. I get it that it's new to everybody and it takes a while to sort out stuff, but if you're encountering that kind of delays, you probably need to delay opening till you get more of the kinks out. The food finally arrived, and was just OK. Compared to KFC or Church's, there's not a lot of distinguishing features here -- it's fried chicken. The chicken fingers were a bit dry, but that seemed consistent. The salad dressing was quite good; I suspect that some of the more esoteric sauce and seasoning options might prove to be interesting, but the menu descriptions weren't sufficient to tell (a brochure that explains the menu would be a big help here). Fries were OK. The ordering system is clearly not meant to compensate for issues as several people received the wrong orders due to the long delay (and having to remember what queue number you had). Prices were consistent with KFC and Popeye's, so no surprises there. I guess if I had to summarize, they seemed to be having a lot of teething problems that hadn't been worked out before opening. Some additional training and a few practice days would probably be of great benefit. read more

I only give two stars because I happen to love Zaxby's chicken, but the poor, beyond slow service here brings it down to 2 stars. If your job only permits you an hour lunch break, you cannot go here and get back in time. So I decided to try the online / call-ahead ordering to see if it could speed things up. WRONG. You still have to wait in the long line, with only one person working on the register, to tell them you are there to pick up your order. So you save no time waiting at all. And your food will be cold by the time you get through the line. The food comes out pretty fast actually, but the major problem is that during lunch time, there is ONE person on the register, even though our local restaurant has two registers. I have never seen the two being operated. After trying this place several different times, a few months apart, I am finished with this location. I have been to other Zaxby's and the Winchester one seems to be alone in its service problem. Waiting in line for 25 minutes or more at a fast food place is unacceptable. read more

Food was fresh, hot, tasty and generous portions. Chicken has the homemade country fried in a cast iron taste. Grilled club sandwich was outstanding! First of all, Winchester made a mistake in allowing this building to take place. It is too large for the lot, causing a lack of parking spaces and driving area. This causes those waiting for the drive thru to block those trying to get out of parking spaces ad those trying to find one. The place was crowded with not enough seating for those wishing to eat there. Long wait for the food which turned out to be not commendable at all: dry overcooked chicken tenders that were tough, frozen crinkle cut French fries, soggy toast. The only redeeming thing was the coleslaw. The woman's rest room only had two stalls. I guess there is no employee bathroom or break room because while I waited for a toilet, an employee came in a couple times to see if one was free yet and found I was still waiting. Another employee sat at a table and I don't know if she offered her booth to a customer or they asked her to vacate so they could sit there. In any case, it's got to be uncomfortable for the employees to not be able to get away. All in all, I would say the food is overpriced and not that good. Certainly not worth the hassle of trying to get in there. read more

Same great Zaxbys we all love. I got the Zax snack meal dipped in tongue torch. Clean restaurant and friendly employees. They honored their military discount, nice. We spilled a drink and they were attentive and fast cleaning it up. So happy to have a Zaxbys in Nova. Will be back! read more

This review is based solely on the wait time. I've never seen anything like it. There must be 15 people in the back working yet I've seen about 6 trays leave the back in 20 minutes. I have never written a review before and even more surprising is that it would be about a fast food restaurant, mainly because I usually do not get frustrated by underwhelming service in the lowest tier of food service. However, my experience just now at Zaxby's was extremely poor. It took a solid 5 minutes to order a simple meal at the drive through after asking to repeat my order several times and be placed on hold repeatably. James over the microphone asked over and over what time of sauce for this or that after I had already stated it several times, as if he wasn't listening when he asked the questions. No big deal, James is probably new. Then once to the window, it takes a few moments to get our food. No big deal. I looked in and made sure as much as you can in a big stuffed with a bunch of boxes that everything was there. Upon returning home I noticed that two items I had ordered were not even processed (I was not charged for them after looking at the receipt) and missed completely. The food was alright, but the meal was incomplete which shouldn't be that hard to accomplish for four items. Nothing wrong with the food but these guys need to seriously up the tier and quality of employees they hire. Very frustrating. read more

Food was fast but it took around 15 minutes to get my drink (and the machine still wasn't working they finally started filling drink orders from the drive thru drink machine). They're still fairly new to the area & trying to find their groove (& regular employees that'll hang around more than a week or so), however I felt we gave them plenty of learning-curve time. The first time we visited - we left without even ordering because people inside (sitting) had been waiting in excess of 30 minutes for their own orders. A month later, after hearing from an employee that they give priority to the drive thru, we tried that route. Was still a long wait, but no where near 30 minutes. The drive through had been steadily moving, numbers called out of order. Shame on us, it is a new establishment.... there was no "sorry for the wait" or anything. Ordered 10 chicken fingers, which should have merited me some dipping sauce. Got none. Fingers were dry and over-breaded, and those issues were more noticeable given the absence of sauce. Banana shake ok if you like the cloyingly sweet taste of banana pudding. Onion rings are real rings but so so and skinny. Still quite a line at take out. read more
