Had lunch here today before the rush. Staff was cordial but seemed forced not super friendly. The soda machine looks like it never gets cleaned. I ordered the chicken tneders. The chicken was ok a little too salty and I love salt. Wish they had gravy but instead they charge you a dollar for any dipping sauce you order. The sweet and spicy sauce was not good at all. Buffalo sauce was just ok. I think I would have preferred to just dip food in ketchup. My favorite part was the seasoned fries. Would come here more often if they had it clean and gave you better dipping options. read more

I personally love Zaxbys. They are always consistent, speedy and delicious. I live near Potranco and 151, and there are like 5/6 fried chicken spots I could visit. Instead I make the 10 min drive just for some Zaxbys on a weekly basis. The nuclear sauce is to die for goes great with the entire meal. Chicken tenders are always juicy, fresh and have great flavor. Place is pretty nice inside for being a fast food chain. Employees are always friendly and quick. In my opinion one of the best fast food fried chicken places ever! read more

So I personally do not get this restaurant, all based on the taste of the food. It is a nice place, very clean, and the folks are very friendly. The food was served quickly and hot. But just found chicken not to have a recognizable taste, like under seasoned. The only flavor I found came from the dip sauce, which I do not prefer. The fries seemed undercooked, so that did not help. Unfortunately for me the best thing there was the iced tea. I am unable to recommend. read more

We LOVE Zaxby's almost as much as CFA. We were regulars back on the east coast and couldn't believe we were getting one just a few miles from our house. I was pretty annoyed when I found out they didn't have the Black and Blue salad. We went a few times opening week and kept going back until the food wasn't as appealing as it had always been. We went today and I'm done. Our food was disgusting. $46 for 3 meals and the most edible part was the cold fries. We could have gone to Texas Roadhouse for steaks for around the same amount. Second visit and we are just as impressed as the first experience! Marissa was behind the counter and she was super sweet and patient. She frWe were trying to download the app, but it was taking forever! She just smiled and waited for us to get it downloaded & signed in - nice change from many people being frustrated or annoyed with it taking so long to download! I was dying for Zaxby's. Bring a Georgia girl, I was excited to find one here but the drive discouraged many times. I had a new job detail and behold! What's down the road from the job? Zaxby's. After work I decided I'd see if it measures to Zaxby's at home. First of all, I'm fully aware this is Raising Cane's town. We actually had one in my hometown in Georgia but it didn't survive in Zaxby's country at the time (side note, if they tried it again it would probably do better). Anyway, full disclosure, today's Zaxby's isn't the one I grew to love over 30 years. They've made changes to the food, specifically the fingers and the toast that I'm not a fan of. But what never seemed to disappoint was the fries and the wings. And they didn't disappoint here. My flavor is always hot honey mustard and I love dipping my fries in the ranch sauce. My first order was online and I picked up in store. I had to go back in because the soda was all carbon. I forgot how much I miss going inside to use the freestyle machine. The food was good. I realized I don't miss the fingers at all and made a mental note to skip the wings and things and just get wings and a side order of fries. I did that on the second try. Overall it's a quick fix like home but I gotta tell you, if I could get Zaxby's wings and fries with Cane's fingers and toast! Now that would be a perfect combo. read more

The service was excellent. Food came out fresh and was quick. The reason for my review not being a higher rated review is that the food is just EH! I ordered their signature chicken sandwich and asked for it to be spicy. What a disappointment! The sandwich was nothing special. The sauce was like thousand island dressing with a little spice added. So my ratings come down to service being a 3 and the food is just a one. Stopped here for something to eat before work. We waited in line for over 10 minutes just to get to the speaker with one car in front of us at the speaker and when we got to the speaker that told us they will be right with us and we sat there another 5 minutes. By the time we got to the window no one came to charge us for another 5 minutes. Then we sat there another 10 minutes waiting for our food and when they gave us our food it wasn't our order. I gave it back told him it was not our food and told him if our food was not ready if I could just get a refund because we have already been waiting longer than we should have. He nodded his head and closed the window and we waited a few more minutes and he came back with our food and practically threw it at us. Zaxby's has arrived at Alamo Ranch! My previous encounter of this chain was back in San Marcos a good distance from this one. Let's review the service, the staff was very friendly and outgoing on a busy July 4th lunch hour. We ordered pretty quickly and the food came out within a reasonable amount of time. The chicken strips were moist flavorful and the Buffalo garlic boneless wings had great flavor and crunchy chew with caution. The crinkle cut fries were a bit soggy with seasoning which gave it a great flavor overall the fried chicken delicacy was good however the fries could use some work which one star falls, would recommend it for those seeking variety and options in a fried chicken restaurant! The tenders are very small and the portion of fries is sparse. The tenders do have good flavor and crisp to them but the fries were old and dried out. I took a little bit of time deciding on what I wanted to eat, the lady who took my order was kind and patient with me as I was unsure about what I wanted. I finally ordered the 3 piece tenders and the traditional boneless wings w/ sweet and spicy sauce w/ an peach tea. The drinks of course came out first the peach tea was really sweet. The food did take some time before they handed it to me. When I asked for sauce for my tenders they told me that each sauce would be an additional $0.39. I tried Zaxby's Alamo ranch location and was very happy with the experience and food. This is a new location so I was not sure if it would be very busy or if there would be a long wait. I was happy to arrive an have no wait at all. They was plenty of space in side and no crowd. The restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly. The staff was cleaning the entire time I was there. We ordered our food and received it in less than 10 mins. Everything was fresh tasting and very good. The chicken was crispy and juicy. The Zaxby's sauce added good spice and variety. I had the tenders and wings with garlic sauce. I was very happy with my food and the price. They even offered a military discount. My wife had a chicken salad that she enjoyed. Zacby's on a Friday afternoon (3 pm) was insane! Super crowded inside and many cars lined up at drive thru. Went inside and ordered chicken strips, chicken sandwich, and buffalo wings with fried cheese bites. Chicken strips were good-- Fries were very salty -- Chicken sandwich was delicious -- Wings were tasty....but cheese bites were bland and flavorless. Had to wait 30 minutes for order. I am such a major fan of Zaxby's. I was beyond excited when we received a location in San Antonio. The first thing I noticed was the restaurant only had one car in the drive through. Any true customer of Zaxby's knows the line is always wrapped around the building. The food was horrible. I would prefer to travel to MS,GA or any other state than to receive service at this location. I would even drive an hour to San Marcos. This situation is very disheartening. Because of the lack of business this location has there probably would not be another location added to San Antonio. We gave it two weeks for the newness to wear off and went there for dinner tonight. There was a huge line in the drive thru like there was the fist time we tried going. And upon going into the dining room it was also busy with a couple empty tables so we decided to stay and try it. It seemed a little over priced but most things are these days. I got the bbq sauce on my boneless wings and he got the honey mustard. Mine were extremely saucy, I didn't finish them. The smell of the sauce was extremely strong. The regular tenders I thought would be good, I mean how do you screw up fried chicken. They had a weird after taste, not sure if it was the grease or if they had been sitting for awhile. Nothing was extremely hot even though they were really busy. Fries were nothing special, frozen with a little seasoning. As we sat in the dining room eating, I couldn't help but notice that the dining room was in need of a good cleaning and picking up. Trash on the tables and floor. I understand it is no one's "JOB" to clean up after the lazy slobs in this world, but with the amount of employees I saw in there I feel that management could assign someone to just focus on keeping the dining room clean and welcoming to guests. Also the Trash cans overflowing so they covered them with a tray I guess until someone would change them out. The dining room was very loud, people yelling out names for orders that were ready and everyone trying to over talk the noise I guess. We went here only because my boyfriend grew up with Zaxby's in Georgia. This was my first time. He says it is nothing like it used to be and we more than likely will not be returning. Food was way less flavorful than Canes. The sauce wasn't flavorful is what it was. That Canes sauce somethin special, this sauce tastes like watered down Cane's sauce. Sweet tea was good, taste like Bushes'. The fries are mid, maybe it was the batch I got but damn. And for some reason, my tenders smelled like cigarette smoke. Weird right. Like if whoever made them was smoking and the cigarette smoke stuck to my tenders. Didn't go inside, just the drive thru. The cashiers was rude too. Got the order wrong as well. Went to Walzem/35 location in SA TX and I was so disappointed. The pricing for the small amount of food is not worth it. They advertise vegetable egg rolls yet they don't sell them except Mondays??
