Zaxby's seems like the result of KFC and Applebees procreating after a drunken hookup neither remembered -- Lots of annoying kitsch on the walls, too-loud music and mediocre food. Food: BAD. I got a 4 Finger meal with fries, slaw and toast. Took several tries to communicate '4 Finger Meal' to the cashier over the too-loud music. SLAW - tasted like the styrofoam container it was served in - was not finished. FRIES - greazy and limp. No crunch and no salt. CHICKEN - Overcooked and tough. Breading was thin, greazy, and vaguely paprika spiced. NOTE: breading spice was easily identifiable in the bathroom the next day... Catsup was available to squirt into little paper cups. Special Zaxby's sauce in a peel-open plastic container was on the plate. SAUCE WAS GROSS. Sorry. Sauce tasted like mayo mixed with catsup, canola oil and some pepper. Sauce + Fries = BARF Sauce + Chicken = WRETCH Catsup + Fries = meh mush that hardly needed to be chewed Catsup + Chicken = Chew forever overcooked meat with I'm-glad-this-is-catsup-not-that-sauce TOAST - heavily buttered, crunchy and yummy. One star for the nice employee who wished me a good evening as she emptied the trash near the exit. One star for the clean eating area and restrooms. read more

"Kickin Chicken" sandwich is delicious! I've seen so much dry, bland, and/or overcooked chicken from other chains, but I really like the recipe here, so far. I know this location just opened, but there were so many issues that we encountered that I am compelled to provide an honest review. Below is a chronological summary of our experience. 1. One of the cashiers at the front displayed complete lack of customer service. The line was extremely long since it was a particularly busy night. When she finished with her customer, she looked down, straightened the cookies in the case...basically everything EXCEPT acknowledge the next waiting customer. I witnessed her do this throughout the night, making an already long wait even longer for the customers. 2. Right after the line to order, you must get in two additional lines just to get a drink! The first line was just for ice in a separate small ice machine. You then must go to a separate machine for you tea or soda. This was happening all in the same space where people were picking up their orders, so it ended up being chaos. 3. The restaurant has a large number of small two person booths with large tables in the center open space. Normally, this might not be an issue, but since it was busy, families were left fighting for a spot to sit at one of the larger tables in the middle. I think one row of two-people booths would have been sufficient, leaving the remaining ones larger and able to accommodate more people. 4. The entire restaurant has large windows (nearly floor to ceiling). There are no shades or blinds on them, so most of the customers, including our party, were forced to sit in the hot and blinding sun. This is a ridiculous oversight on the owner's part, especially for being in Texas! They should put shades on the windows immediately. 5. The wait time for our food (2 kids meals and a snack meal) was nearly 20 minutes. Even though it was busy the night we went, such a long wait time is excessive, especially when there's really only one thing on the menu. 6. When our order was finally ready, I had to wait an additional couple of minutes just to get sauces for our meal. It took a while to even get the attention of an employee. Once I told her what I needed, she then had to turn to someone in the back and ask for the sauces. Are sauces really necessary to keep hidden away in the back? Why not just put them out so your customers can take what they want without waiting? All in all, the food was merely mediocre. Given the terrible experience, I think I'll stick with the other chicken finger place just down the road. It's closer to our house, anyway, and is tastier in all aspects. read more

We've been here several times since it opened and never been disappointed. In the beginning, the service was a little slow but that has greatly improved since with no sign of reverting in sight. The tenders are great, and can be eaten without their sauce which is a plus. Then there's the variety that Zaxby's has that none of it's chicken tender competition doesn't even come close too. read more

We love Zaxby's chicken and have gone to the RR location many times. Of course we are excited that we do not have to drive far to enjoy the food. The food at the Pflugerville location is top notch! Ok now for the bad... First, the restaurant NEEDS window blinds or tint. It didn't matter where you sat the sun beamed on your face. It was hard to enjoy our meal with glare. Second, the blonde lady manager didn't smile the entire time we were there. I could see her walking around without greeting or smiling to anyone. I understand she was busy BUT customer service is #1. We didn't feel welcomed. Lastly, the food took 30 minutes to cook. We were there at 7p. The inside had about 3 people waiting for to go orders with 4 people ahead of us. Our chicken was nice and steam hot. The fries were cool not cold. We were told it would be a while to get "fresh" fries. Overall the experience was ehhh. It would have been better to see more workers and a stress-less manager/shift leader. read more

DON'T DO IT! I will never go back to this location. You would think that, with them being less than a mile from Cane's, that they would at least attempt to get the order correct, but they can't even do that. If you go after 5, most of the evening crew is grab-assing and hanging out. The last time I went in the evening, the drive through employee was laughing and telling her co-worker he was 'hot' audibly through the speaker while I was trying to order and completely messed up the order. Wings are good. Chicken tenders are mediocre. No signs on New Year's Eve to say they are closed (6 pm). Couldn't even get a "sorry" or a response at 6:10, just a closed window and shake of the head. We used this Zaxbys catering for a small family event and had a really great experience. We did the sandwich platter and individual box lunches for 16 people. Was out with a friend and we decided to stop in... I was a bit not wanting but thought maybe another try after they been open for a few ages. I was impressed they got the order correct. Only major issue i seen was a spill all over a table and on the floor that wasnt touched or taken care of a good 10-15 minutes while I was eating. Noticed someone that appeared to be a manager or something walking around talking to people but thats all I seen them really doing. I was super excited to try Zaxby's for the first time tonight and I have to say, I was extremely let down. The food was fantastic (although a little to heavy on the sauce) but the service can use a real helping hand. I placed my order online and it was stated my food would be ready in 9 minutes, SWEET, speedy service. Well turns out when I arrived later than 9 minutes from the pickup time my order was not printed to be made. The gentlemen assisting me had great potential to have quality customer service but you could tell this may be his first job. Now that my order is starting to be made an employee walks up to me with my coleslaw and asks if I would like to hold it while I am waiting... um no thank you please bag the whole order together. Following that the guy preparing the orders in the back tells the cashier my order was ready after belittling her, this was absolutely not okay. She proceeds to look over my order (but doesn't show it to me) and asks if I had wings.. no my order consisted of tossed chicken fingerz. By this point I was beyond irritated. She hands it back to the gentlemen preparing the orders and he confirms they were chicken fingerz, NOT wings. My goodness... the employees don't even know what product they are serving. Overall, I've never been inside of a place operated by so many people who have no clue what's going on. If it weren't for the food I wouldn't even consider coming back. You can tell some employees have real potential but they deeply need the help and guidance to be the best. read more

I was getting a vehicle inspection done close by so I walked over for lunch. I had never heard of this place and thought I would try it. It wasn't terrible but I doubt I would ever go back. I had the wings and chicken fingers. The chicken fingers were good but the wings were not; I didn't even finish them. The blonde lady manager previously mentioned in one of the posts was actually kind and greeted us, so she mustve listened to yalls advice. However, (and this may be a franchise thing) we ordered the grill cheese for our son and it was caked in season salt. He took one bite and spit it out. The same manager was nice enough to fix it but said thats how the grilled cheese is made bc they use garlic butter. Besides that, the cheese wasnt even close to being melted either time and my husbands wings were pretty salty too. And i second the comment about needing blinds, we could barely see. By far the worst chicken plate I have ever gotten at a Zaxbys. This was my first and last time at this location. The french frys were barely warm and old. The toast was soggy. The chicken was ok but nothing to brag about. Could have gone to any real restaurant and gotten a chicken dinner for the same price and better quality. The exterior carries a sense of being a nice, sit down place that I was underdressed for, but the friendly staff did not seem to mind my disheveled look. We decided to try out Zaxbys last night and were very pleased. We ordered chicken strip meals, and the kiddos went with the chicken sandwich kids meals. The food was hot and delicious, and the various sauces were all amazing. I highly recommend the hot honey mustard, original buffalo, tongue torch, and the traditional Zak sauce. Go with the fried mushrooms as well - thank me later! Both of the owners (Sarge and Leslie) made the rounds to check on the people in the restaurant and were extremely friendly and welcoming. It's nice to see engaged owners taking pride in their business and community. The kids behind the counter were a little green, but they are all probably two or three weeks into their first job - some learning curve is to be expected. Even still, they were nice and friendly as well. We'll absolutely be back! read more

Zaxby's sucks. I stopped in earlier this evening to pick up dinner. I heard the way the man taking the orders spoke sharply to the person ahead of me, I should have been prepared. I asked about the wings and the man asked him quite a question that I didn't understand, and I told him that because of vision problems I couldn't read the menu and would he please tell me what I could get with wings. He put me on hold for several minutes and then came back and said how many wings do you want with no recollection that he had spoken to me. Granted he may have been busy there was ... After all... One car ahead of me. The dining room is still closed so it was it it wasn't that there was anybody inside needing help. I said told him never mind. And as I began to back out he sarcastically said have a good evening. Unfortunately this just hit me the wrong way and what came flying out of my mouth I regret it immediately. It's been a long time since I've been to a Zaxby's. We got one here and now this is my favorite chichen place. The boneless buffalo wings I had were hot, juicy and crisp even with the sauce on them. These are the best chicken tenders around and with so many options how could you go wrong. The fries are seasoned nicely and crisp. So glad I tried it. The service was also great. read more

I went to pick up lunch today and ended up getting a Cobb Zalad from Zaxby's. They were able to easily modify what I wanted to fit my dietary needs (no toast, etc). The chicken was hot and fresh...exactly what I wanted in a salad. My family comes here frequently and you will not find a nicer owner than Mr. Patel and his family. They are heavily involved in the Pflugerville community...fundraisers, putting out the signs as supporters of different community agencies. So happy they are here in Pflugerville! read more

Tried this place out a few days ago for dinner. Place wasn't busy but did have steady stream of customers. Entrance door was awkward to open. Briana the cashier needs more training and thorough understanding of menu. Food took incredibly long and wasn't even that hot, warm temperature at the most. Dining area desperately needs blinds/curtains! How they overlooked this, I wish I knew! Table set up looks like it's meant for a coffee shop given the fact of rows and rows of 2 seat booths. All of my food was hot, except the coleslaw, which was cold-like it's supposed to be. The people behind the counter were very friendly. Hopefully it's just because it's new but Service is SLOW. This is NOT fast food. About 20 minutes after we ordered the food came out. Zax Sauce is the same as at raising cains but cains comes out fast! Sauce containers come out with wing sauce all over the top of them. Maybe in a few weeks it will be better. Boneless wings are too big for bite size but no knives available so you make do... hubby said the boneless wings compare to sonic wings. Not my fave for many reasons... read more

Zaxby's is great! The staff are very courteous and we were served quickly. We had the chicken tenders and they were delicious! The pasta salad side-dish was a nice option. The price is very fair for the amount of food you receive. We will definitely be back!!! read more
