Went a month ago and stood there and was ignored so we left. Thought we would give it another try yesterday. Walked in at 6:30 and only 2 parties in the restaurant. All of the young people working there were standing around talking and goofing off. An older woman motioned for somebody to wait on us so she did. Otherwise we would have been standing there again. Every single table in the building was dirty. Not one was clean. That use to be the best Zaxby's. They need new management because now its just a party place for their employees. I stood at the counter @ 4m and nobody came to take order. Cute little girl talked and laughed with her friend behind the counter and maybe forgot she was at work??? I left the store with no interaction with staff. Not one person in the dining room! I love Zaxby's but this Murhy location needs improvement in customer service. I've been to the Zaxby's in Hiawassee Ga and those employees act happy, pleasant, welcoming, warm, and very efficient with their jobs. Wonderful customer service but totally unlike this location. My absolute favorite place to go eat. They are a restaurant, so of course sometimes they forget sauces and silverware, but all you have to do is remind them. My only complaints are sometimes the dining room doesn't get cleaned as often as it should and I don't like how they charge 30 cents for more Zax sauce! I understand it costs money to provide the sauce so I'm not upset about that. The last time I went in was yesterday, the young lady, which I'm assuming was a teenager, was very clearly in a bad mood or was new to the job. I like Zaxsbys and love their chicken fingers plate with Zaxsbys sauce. I usually just get French fries as my side to go along with it. My French fries tasted great but the chicken fingers were a little over cooked on the outside which is unusual. I still ate them though. Their drinks are self serve at the drink island. Their machine as has probably over a 100 different combinations that you can choose from. Nice town and friendly service from this restaurant. I got my order pretty fast too. read more

Can I complain about the entire experience? We drove an hour to get here bc it's our fave place. 20 mins in line for them to mess up our order. Yelled at us bc they only made one drink large (we asked for all large drinks light ice) chucked full of ice. They left off an order of cheddar bites. We ordered a KIDS meal but they charged us for a large plate and gave us a large plate for a little 6 year old to eat. No salt given even though we asked. No utensils. No napkins. No ranch with the honey wings. We offered to pay for the large drinks when they told us we didn't pay for them. I don't care to pay for the drinks I ORDERED AND WANTED. To be yelled at and treated as if we were trying to steal! RIDICULOUS! My husband got mad and drove off bc he said if we had them fix the drinks they'd spit in them. With the lady's attitude (the one at the window I can see why). I called and asked for the manager on duty. He told me he was sorry we had a bad experience. They were busy. That's literally it. No offers to fix anything. Just "we're busy. What more do you want?" I'll be SURE to take our money elsewhere. Period. What in the heck!?!? I used to work fast food when I was a teenager. You prepped for those rushes! I don't have to go out and eat. We haven't for four months or more. I CHOSE to drive to here bc I WANTED Zaxbys! I did not have a great experience here, also very odd. I had the nibbler meal and as I was eating the chicken it tasted like a cigarette and it was awful. I was going to go back and get a different meal, but others at my table said the same thing about the odd tasting chicken. I generally like Zaxby's. This location's service & food varies, depending on the day. Sometimes it's fresher than others, some days the staff is more friendly. If you are in the mood for a salad or some chicken tenders, it's a decent place to stop. read more

Slowest service ever..i was in line probably 20 minutes or more in the drive through then they messed up my order! I won't go there again.

Food was okay. I tried to order a Nibbler meal and the person who helped me at front counter was absolutely rude for no reason AND people behind the counter in the kitchen were eating on the line! It was really unsanitary like. I work at fast food myself and that shouldn't fly. When I tried to order the nibbler meal I asked for extra zax sauce and an extra on the side. I got my nibbler meal and there was very little sauce and one of them didn't even have sauce on them- so I asked for extra sauce and she said she'd still have to charge me for a sauce packet even though I already asked for it. I didn't care and just paid the damn 50¢ for two packs and said it was unfair that I had to pay. She then proceeded to raise her voice and say I was being rude... definitely terrible customer service and the food was mediocre. I won't be eating here again. read more

Went through the drive-thru today and was surprised to see that none of the employees were wearing masks. The lady working the window had her mask pinned to her shirt with her name tag. I later noticed she was making drinks with several bandaids wrapped around her fingers, without any gloves to cover them and keep them from fall off into said food or drink. I'm not one of those pro-maskers but I do think working on the food industry it should be required during these times. read more

Chicken Tenders are good but their sauces not so much. The zax sauce has little flavor & they charge extra if you ask to try something else...unless you specifically say "instead of zax" when you ask for it. But on the plus side. Over a few years, I've never encountered a totally positive experience at Zaxby's. No matter what time, no matter how many people in line(0-10) they give new meaning to the term "fast food." It's as if they have to catch the chickens. When my wife insisted on getting Zaxby's for a reunion & we would be time-constrained, I tried to order online. There is no option to pay cash at pickup. Don't need another company having my credit card info. Called in an order for 2 - 5 piece tenders. Had a really difficult time placing the order. Had to repeat several times. Finally got everything verified (or so I thought) & told him when to have the order ready. Arrived to pick up the order, spoke to a female at the counter who got the male working the drive-thru. Apparently he had taken the order using his headset, which immediately explained why there was such difficulty communicating. I handed him my credit card to check out and discovered my order was twice as expensive as he handed me the receipt. The female had placed the order on the counter and I realized my order had increased from 10 pieces to 20 pieces. I complained about the change, as he went back to the take-out window, ignoring my protestations about the error. I tried to complain to the female, who chose to find something else to do. 10 minutes later, opened the take-out containers to discover the chicken was cold, meaning: 1. my stated pickup time was ignored. 2. it had been sitting for over an hour prior to pickup. But I've been a fan since the first bite I had at one years ago, and they're still serving up consistently good chicken wherever I visit one. I like Zaxby's for the most part. The Fanta Cherry is the best drink in the world! For some reason this Zaxby's can never serve hot fresh tasting chicken. It always seems like the chicken was cooked then sits around until ordered and they warm it up and shake sauce on it. I really like freshly cooked wings. This was a close final stop before the casino for us. Food was barely warm so they remade it for me but with the wrong 'sauce toss'. Food was what is to be expected of Zaxby's...Overpriced but did the job. Bathroom could've used a spruce and no drive thru line. We ate inside and though there were a few tables open, they were right in the Line of the sun. I'm thinking we probably should've sat at one of those tables to keep the food from getting cold. I love the Boneless Wings meal. I usually get that or the Big Zax Snak™ Meal. My husband (who isn't a big fan of chicken) always gets the Grilled Chicken Sandwich meal and my son likes the Nibblerz™ meal. They also have really good salads. Ive never had any problems with their service other than the fact that you pay for the sauces. The map wont give you the correct location for the restaurant as it is actually located at 780 W US Hwy 64 in Murphy but their official address is 826 W US Hwy 64. This may be due to the fact that it opened after the businesses around it, I guess they gave it the nearest available number). We don't eat out a lot but this is one of our faves in Murphy. read more

I like this Zaxby's. There staff is always smiling & seem to enjoy where they work. They are in the ball & I always get fast service. My regular pick for fast food, you know what your getting, real chicken! Pretty tasty too. Their sweet tea is very good. Time of day seems to affect the chicken freshness. If you go after a rush time, the chicken may have sat for a few minutes. Otherwise, 100% a good experience. read more

OK, so it is Sunday night, 7:45pm there are 4 couples in the restaurant, not crowded at all. We placed our order and then got our drinks, napkins and sat down to wait on the order. The crew working seems ot be having some real fun in the back with lots of hooping and hollering going on. One person on the drive through, one on the cash register at the front, a manager walking around in a light blue shirt and three others standing around talking while one man in the back is making the food. The restaurant is FREEZING cold. We can't believe how cold it is in there. After waiting patiently for 20 minutes for our food I go back to the front with the intentions of inquiring about our order. 5 people including the manager walk by the front while one is on the store telephone having a ball with whoever she is talking to. The rest were standing around talking. Nobody was acknowledging me. I can see our food is sitting on the shelf behind everyone. There was a NC Highway patrolman that had ordered right before us and he was getting just as angry ad I was. They finally pulled down the food and inquired as to what our order number was. They did not have condiments or salad dressing on the tray and the little red head at the register acted as if she was doing a big favor by asking the cook for the condiments. The highway patrol officer still did not have a knife and fork and although he had asked for it twice had still not received his, OK, so we get the food and all of it is COLD, the chicken wings and French fries had absolutely no heat whatsoever, very disappointing and very unappealing. We finished up and I asked the cashier for the district manager's name. She said she did not know his name and did not have his number. She asked the manager and she told her they were not allowed to give it out. The manager then completely ignored me and did not wish to deal with me so she told the cashier to refer me to the toll free card for complaints on the wall just inside the door. She then turned around and walked away. Now all of this occurred while I am standing there looking right at the both of them. This is our first trip to Murphy and we are really enjoying our stay but this meal was a huge bust and we will never be back. The sad thing is, the entire team besides the cook and the girl working the drive through could truly care less. The cook and drive through girl were working their buts off but everyone else seemed to be having a private party and the customers were just an annoyance. The toll free number is not even for Zaxby's, it is for a service and they were just as useless. For a chain restaurant it sure was a shocker to have this terrible of service and again the food was not even close to being warm. This was a total FAIL! read more
