I like Zaxby's. This isn't my first time here, but it was my first time trying this Fried Chicken Philly. After working all day, I was quite hungry, and decided to eat here after picking up and delivering an order from here. The staff is always warm and welcoming, and unlike other places in the area, they seem to enjoy what they're doing. They're always pleasant to deal with. That Fried Chicken Philly caught my eye on the menu when I was doing my pickup, so I knew that was what I wanted. I ordered and seated myself in one of the small two person booths in their well-lit, ultra clean seating area. I poured myself an Arnold Palmer, trying to gauge the perfect mixture of ice, lemonade and tea. I succeeded magnificently. It wasn't long before my food was ready, and I was digging into it. When I opened the container, the sandwich was bigger than what I expected it would be. Since my doctor put me on the Ozempic diet, my appetite has been less than half of what it used to be, so I was almost sure this was going to be divided between late lunch and dinner. But as soon as I bit into that thing, I knew there wouldn't be anything left for later. The peppers and onions were seasoned just right, and were grilled to perfection! The bun was also grilled to it was crisp without being dry, and the chicken was simply juicy, crisp, and quite tasty. I tried one of the fries, and it was also cooked and seasoned to perfection. I have to limit carbs, so I rarely eat more than a fry or two, but it was a good fry. I'll definitely come back here. Like I said, it wasn't my first time, and this definitely won't be the last. Of the Zaxby's locations in our area, this is definitely the best one. A perfect experience. read more

Went to the Zaxby's drive thru for my lunch break today. Planned on getting just a 5 finger plate BUT I saw they had a funnel cake that was new to the menu. It's probably for a limited time so I decided to add that to my order. I could smell the funnel cake the whole 10 minutes it took me to get back home. I didn't expect much since it's not a regular item. I just hoped it was edible and look reasonable enough to make an attempt to consume. The drive thru service was quick and I received my food right away. Got home and I inspect my bag. Zaxby's really does a disservice when they give one sauce and expect you to adequately sauce your fingers. Sauce aside, the fingers were true to Zaxby's standards. Crispy seasoned fingers that if you had no sauce they would still be delicious. The fries and toast were what they always are. They're not the stars of the show but they played the part they were intended to play. As for the funnel cake, it was a Zaxby's funnel cake. It looked similar to funnel cake but it was no county fair funnel cake. The presentation was different. The powdered sugar had what looked to be some caramel color in it. It also came with some caramel sauce. I ate it and was not disappointed. That's to say it didn't throw me any surprises or make me want to throw it away. My experience today was alright. I'll give it 4 stars. It was an ordinary experience. I didn't have anything to complain about other than the Zax sauce. Turns out I had enough sauce for all 5 fingers. This place is terrible. If I am going to get a chicken salad the first thing should be I get some chicken. My salad was $10.99. I ordered grilled chicken. It had barely any chicken on it and what it did have was rubbery and inedible. I went to let them know kindly and was met with attitude. I should have gone to Foosackles. They are nice AND the chicken is good. Here they are rude and the chicken stinks!!! PS on a positive note they give you so little chicken you don't have to suffer through much trying to eat it. read more

The bathroom was out of toilet paper. Also waited about 20mins for my food and when I did get it, it looked thrown together. For the amount of customers ordering, there should've been more than one person at the register. read more

I went through the drive through and they were very quick and friendly. When I got to the window the cashier look me in my eyes and talk to me while she was cashing out my order, which was nice when most places just get ignore you until they throw the food at you. I'm giving 2 stars over the fact of CV19, as I feel this store not even worthy of one star. That said, over the past month (06/2020 to 07/2020) this place has become as slow as Whataburger (and that's as slow as it gets). No other Zaxby's in Mobile is nearly this slow. I'm from Alaska, and I've never had been to fast food restaurants like Zaxby's. I went to Zaxby's at 8 PM on 6/28/2020. Before I ordered I asked if they have FRESH food made, and they replied that their wings were 20 mins old. So I asked if my Order could be made FRESH, and they said ok and we'd have to wait 15 mins. I said ok no problem we want fresh Wings, when we got to window asked if it was the right order I wanted and asked if they were FRESH and they said yes they're fresh, but when I opened my food they were super dry I was very UNSATISFIED with my order. read more

Went in to order some chicken fingers. Lady behind the counter said "We out of wings, fries, and something else." Ordered fingers and onion rings. Coke machine and ice machine out of ice. No napkins. No ketchup. Place was filthy. Food was greasy. Oil was burnt. Even when I got ready too leave garbage cans had been removed but they shut the door back. Oh my chicken gods. I am converted. I live in New Orleans, so naturally I'm inclined to like Raising Cane's whether I understand why or not. I've always been told about how good Zaxby's was, so the S.O. and I were searching for one with good reviews and open when we were on the way home from Florida. This location we chose was very cool. Lots of funky decorations but functional booths. We went to the counter as the first customers for the day and the cashier was super helpful. We got the spicy fried mushrooms and what she recommended, the chicken finger plate and the Kickin Chicken sandwich. Sitting down to our meal it was eerily familiar: fried tenders, crinkle fries, toast, and cole slaw. Will settle it for you: Cane's has NOTHING on Zaxby's (Zaxby's was established first in case you were wondering.) If you like your food seasoned, I recommend Zaxby's for sure. Tenders are lightly battered and you can see the seasoning on the chicken. The fries are not soggy and seasoned well. The toast is just regular buttered toast, a little on the hard side. And the slaw... Well I can do without slaw honestly. The Zax sauce... a much darker and more seasoned version of Cane's which is so great with the chicken! The mushrooms were done well, but nothing too spectacular. They were crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside as they should be. They were served with Zestable dip that looks a lot like Zax sauce but with less pepper visible and apparently a slight horseradish taste. It's also a little thicker. I didn't have the Kickin Chicken sandwich, but the S.O. told me it was the same great tenders, between two of the aforementioned toast, with ranch and Tongue Torch sauce (he said it tasted like hot wing sauce). This was my first time eating at a Zaxby's, and although I don't know anything about any other locations, this one is Awesome! A girl named McKayla took my order. She was very friendly, and helpful. She recommended the Zaxby Club. It was great! It comes on toasted Texas Toast, which was very fresh. The chicken was crispy, and the bacon had a nice crunch. I will definitely be back. Oh! The only thing that was good was the fries but even those were messed up. If you are looking to splurge I would not recommend this place. Omg good food is not the only thing that is needed in running a successful fast food joint. Sorry but you also need good customer service skills. This store just didn't possess these skills in the drive thru area. When you have someone waiting in line for over 15mins after there food is ready and ticket closed you should actually apologize and if possible throw in a free drink for the ridiculous wait. That would help ease lots of anger believe it or not. And actually my sister's food was cold because of the wait. She could've been gone. We may try this store again later. Not sure. read more

If I could rate it lower I would. They short blonde girl working the window seemed incapable of taking my very simple order dictated directly from the menu. Even after repeating the order at least four times she still had it wrong. After going back and forth about what I actually wanted at the window. We finally got our food, the sauce was wrong and we had no drinks. She then disappears to the back for at least a minute and later returns with two drinks. Which I found strange as the drink machine was right next to her. The Coke tasted funny, I am assume she added something to it. We will NEVER return to this location. STEER CLEAR!! read more
