The $10 dollar 2-piece "jumbo" chicken tenders were itty bitty, dry as a bone, lukewarm, and soggy, like they'd been sitting for a while before being served. Not fresh in any sense of the word. The cole slaw flavor profile was one note--mayonnaise. They even managed to make the pickles unpalatable--just as soggy as the chicken, lukewarm just like the chicken, and so thin that they literally looked shriveled and deflated. (Edited to add that my friend got the baked beans and they had a weird chemical flavor, and his chicken was also lukewarm and dry.) Also, for some inexplicable reason this location has gotten rid of the black eyed pea salad, which was the best side item on the menu! Do not recommend.

The hamburger was real meat, I could tell because the meat crumbled when bitten, not unnecessarily, but at the appropriate time which alerted me to know that we were eating real meat. I'd say they're really good based on the size it comes in. The Philly Cheesesteak was also really good too. My biggest complaint would definitely be the onion rings. Both the batter and onions seemed low quality. It seems like they use a fried catfish style batter for the onion rings which didn't work for us. Plus, the onions were very thick, which affects the outcome of a good onion ring for obvious reasons. Too bad. But big shout out to the servers here. They were all very sweet and helpful. This time around, I stopped by the Downtown Memphis location, which is tucked away in a residential area not too far from Beale Street. A little off the beaten path, but definitely worth the trip. Now, let's talk about the experience. When I walked in, I wasn't greeted or acknowledged. A few employees made eye contact, but nobody said a word. I eventually learned from another customer that it was a seat-yourself establishment. Interesting! LOL. However, the moment I sat down, someone came right over to take my order. I guess everybody strictly stays in their lane around here! I ordered the three-piece white meat meal with coleslaw, baked beans, and a small side of mac and cheese. BABY, that chicken was GOOD! Everything came out in a timely manner, piping hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The chicken was seasoned just right, and the portions were generous. Exactly what I was looking for! Another thing I appreciated was the cleanliness. Both the dining area and restroom were clean and well-maintained. The prices were also very reasonable, especially considering the quality and amount of food you receive. My only real criticism is the initial customer service experience. A simple greeting or acknowledgment when someone walks through the door goes a long way. Other than that, I enjoyed my visit. Would I return? ABSOLUTELY!
