There's usually always a line but it's that more likely that all food is hot and fresh- during lunch if you're in a hurry it might not be the place for to get in line unless you have extra time for your lunch break. Drove up at 9:40 that night, the whole staff was outside smoking in a circle and one of them had parked their car sideways across the drive thru preventing anyone from coming up. Also contacted the manager of the franchise through a zaxbys survey detailing the experience, his response was "yeah sorry labor shortages". Of course, Union Avenue is always busy, but they do an excellent job of providing fast convenient service. The food is always good and seasoned just right! The bread is so buttery and good, the fries are always seasoned to perfection, and the wings are always moist and tasty! When I ordered takeout the other day I parked and ate it in the lot! Lol, I may as well dined in. The price point is feasible. Right now they have a $5.99 deal with a fair amount of options. You get a drink, fries, bread, and of course a chicken item. I placed my order with the restaurant at 7:04 pm and did not receive it unit 8:40 pm. I was not contacted about the delay and when I called the Doordash employee they advised that they were at the location waiting for my order. Which means they lose money dealing with the restaurant's tardiness. I called Zaxby's and the call taker stated that they were out of flour and were waiting for someone to bring them the product. Felt this location had a lot of kids, Everyone was playing around in the front while one guy doing his job in the front. I watched the guy that making food in grill playing with his phone with his gloves on and squeezing out a towel, that start back making an order without changing his gloves. I can't make this up. This location needs some TLC. Sanitation is DEFINITELY an issue here. Tables and booths were sticky with residue...in fact the bottom of my leggings were sticky and disgusting when I got up to leave. A table nearby was covered in trash as well as the floor and it was never cleaned by any of the employees. I watched one employee wipe down a table NEXT to the messy one, but never bothered to clean the table with the actual fries/soda everywhere! Additionally, trash in the drink area is overflowing with wrappers, the ice machine was broken and flooded with melted ice, and the soda machine was pumping out diluted soda. The last time I was here, I went through the drive through and we sat STANDSTILL for 15-20 minutes before backing out and going elsewhere. Every time I go to this location, the line is almost out of the drive-way. Whenever I go to any other fast food place and the line is that long, I just decide to go somewhere else. However, with Zaxby's, I know the most I'll be waiting is around 30 minutes. I got the kickin' chicken sandwich, which is one of Zaxby's ~starred~ items on the menu, and it's just a whopping mess of drenched buffalo / ranch covered chicken tenders sandwiched between two pieces of toast. It's a hot mess; you can't eat it without getting your hands covered in sauce, and it also tastes exactly like A Hot Mess - which is GREAT. She took my order over the speaker and she was kind, patient, and friendly. She read my order back to me (something no one does anymore) and I didn't hear the annoying words "ANYTHING ELSE." I will say that getting into this restaurant can be dicey since it's so close to the street but I usually make it without incident. The inside is pretty spacious and it usually clean when I go there. Majority of the time I get salads there because they're so big and worth the price. I haven't tried the chicks fingers but I may do that eventually. First time at this location and it's actually really busy! The parking lot is really confusing and a big mess. Once you park, you won't be able to get out for a long time since cars are lined up right behind you. The design is just terrible and there's no space at all. Since there's a lot of people, the workers aren't exactly friendly, they just want people in and out but it was lunch rush so I don't know. Regarding the food, I got the Big Zax Snax meal which is 3 tenders with fries and a drink. My only complaint on the food is that the strips were pretty small and mostly batter. I love the other locations so I still have hopes for this one. I'm glad we have a Zaxby's now but I wasn't really impressed with the food from this one. Hopefully it gets better in time. read more

The service here was so slow it was pathetic. The young girl working the front counter was absolutely clueless. Ironically this seems to be my experience every time I visit a Zaxbys. They must work really hard to find the people with the lowest IQ and the biggest lack of work ethic. It's really frustrating to order and then watch them give everyone else their food (8 separate orders after mine) while mine is sitting in the window getting cold. It was not a special order at all.
