They have one kiosk to self order. Workers could have stepped up but watched people wait. The Kiosk is not easy to navigate. Every screen has a pop up. Takes forever. Upon my arrival there was no one at the counter to take my order so I attempted to use the tablet set up for self ordering. That did not work. Eventually an employee appeared and took my order. My bagel got stuck in the toaster and was only partially toasted. The floors are sticky and there is food and trash all around including in the space between the table and built in seat. No hooks for hanging a purse in the restroom and both TP holders are hanging from the wall by a thread. There is a lot of room for improvement in this location and frankly I'm surprised Panera allows this to be the case. read more

Well .... I had never eaten at Panera Bread and after this experience. I can say without a doubt! I never will again. I got the Smoky Buffalo Chicken Melt Baguette. This was the most pathetic sandwich. I have ever received. If you like a bread sandwich then this is your place. I would be ashamed to call what they gave me a sandwich. Take a look at my photos. I must say that it had been a while since I visited Panera because my first experience wasn't as good. But, this time around they redeemed themselves. From the customer service to the fast service on to the taste of the food I enjoyed everything! I had the Pick 2 option. I had potato soup and a deli sandwich. They were both made well. The consistency of the soup was smooth and rich in flavor. The sandwich had a balanced amount of toppings and meat. Of course, they have a drive-thru and pickup options. I ordered the Green Goddess Caprese melt. It would have been better if the arugula would have been fresh. About half of it on the sandwich was yellowed. So disappointed in them. Decided to order because of "free delivery" coupon. Except there was a $4+ extra fee instead. Try to be open if you're going say free delivery. Plus, 6 of the 8 soups weren't available as of 6pm. I must say that I love Panera Bread restaurants. Especially the one in my town (Wichita Falls, TX). So here we go... I arrived at this place in Memphis around 8:15 pm with my elderly mom, wife, and my four minor kids. We used the interactive kiosk option, and to our surprise, after 20 minutes, the food was ready (I thought it was too long when nobody was in line and all four customers there were already with their orders). We didn't ask for anything besides soup, salad, and cheese and bread sandwiches (4). But that's ok. Then it was time to get the food, and I realized that my wife was having difficulties understanding why they were giving us the order to go if we had ordered to dine in... I left the kids with my mom and went over the counter to find out that they refused to give us plates to dine in, saying that they closed at 9 pm and it was already 8:30 pm. They told us that all our bowls of soups were inside and all the ordered food was inside the paper bag they gave us. We didn't like that, but we took it. They said:" You guys can eat here if you want." So we started serving the food to our family when we realized we didn't have anything on where we could put the baguettes. Then at this moment, I was already at my limit. Without raising my voice, I went to the counter and spoke to the girl who had denied service to us in front of her manager, who was on the phone. I asked for at least four plates so we could serve the food. She (the girl with green hair who denied giving us the plates before) went over and grabbed the plates and through them over my hands (I was quick enough to catch them before falling on the floor. And after we started unpacking the food, we realized that one of the soups was missing. We had to go back and ask the manager to bring the missing item. To make a long story short, it was a nightmare. And I question myself... Why didn't they provide me with a receipt for my order? Why didn't they put a sign on the kiosk or the wall somewhere saying that the orders after 8:30 had to be to go? In a tourist place like Memphis, how can you conceive the idea of treating a customer like that? What can I say about the ambiance? It was ok. 1 star IS TOO MUCH FOR YOU. Horrible service and staff, most incompetent staff I have dealt with in all of Memphis so far. Was reluctant to tell me that she was even ready to take my order, she just stood there like a statue staring into space, had an attitude. Took my order wrong, made me repeat myself multiple times and waited a while in a, not so busy, dining area, yet took forever. The 2 incompetent females at the front cashiers were way too busy talking smack, and gossiping, about someone apparently, to comprehend common English or understand customers. Never going back there. I quite literally made a Yelp account just to warn people how bad this Panera Bread location is. For one, I came in on a Thursday afternoon and waited over 45 minutes for my food to be ready. I get that they may have been short staffed but that long of a wait time is ridiculous. Also, there are literal COCKROACHES running around the place. I saw two in the middle of the restaurant. We all know where there is one cockroach you can see, there are hundreds that you can't. Despite waiting so long for my food (and paying an arm and a leg for it), I got so nauseous after seeing the roaches I had to throw it all away and leave. I will be getting in touch with a manager and the health department this week because that environment is not sanitary for safe food preparation or consumption. On a positive note, there was a beaming ray of sunshine managing the front counter named Theresa. All other Panera's I've been to have multiple people up front but even at peak hours this location only staffed ONE person. Despite having to do so much, this young lady stayed super positive and was kind, attentive, and patient with each and every person in the long line of people waiting. Witnessing her being so sweet and cheerful with every customer, including myself, almost made the long wait manageable. Kudos to her! I placed my order at 12:58pm. I received an email at 1:02pm stating that my Panera order was ready and to click "I'm here" when I arrived. I arrive at the restaurant at 1:10 and clicked "I'm here". I waited for 10 minutes and watched as people started getting out of their cars to go inside. I still remained in my vehicle. Even though I saw an employee come out, I waited another 20 minutes. After waiting 30 minutes, I went inside and to ask someone about my curbside order. The employee walked over to Rapid Pick-Up and my bag was there. When I asked the employee why was my order there when the receipt clearly stated CURBSIDE, she just shrugged her shoulder and said, "I don't know."
