    Chicken Finger plate at Zaxby's
    Lorenzo A.

I love going to Zaxby's. The chicken strips are always so juicy, crispy, and fresh. The salads are awesome too! It takes a while for them to cook it... but it's so worth it. (Do you really want to eat cheap dull tasting chicken strips at another fast food location?) Don't both... go to Zaxby's instead :) The interior decorations in this location isn't enough. I've seen other Zaxby's locations that have a ton of random crap on the walls and ceiling. haha.

This was a hot mess. I cannot even begin to express anything positive about this experience except the outside of the store was free from litter. Inside there was the following: impatient patrons due to no ice in the ice machine, the ketchup pump wasn't working (and no one gave packets but laughed as guests tried to repair it), no smiles were present in any employee and the preparation of the food was not as ordered . There was one male employee holed up in the men's room assuming he was on the cell phone with the door locked as he emerged with it in hand texting. The woman who was tending to the drive thru left her post to go knock on the door of the men's room to alert him he had a call on their land line. The cashier at the order counter blurted out, "Its probably that woman of his calling him again!" This wasn't enough for the few dining-in guest to overhear but Miss Drive Thru had to repeat it loudly through the bathroom door. By the way, a man was waiting 5 minutes to get in (I timed it) while this shenanigans was taking place. Since curiosity killed the cat, I asked the patron if the bathroom had one commode or urinal. He was miffed that he had to wait and said, "Hell no! It has two urinals and a stall and I guess bubba back there must've needed to lock the main door to talk on the phone!" Point taken. The oxymoron of it all was the big boss was sitting in the dining room from my entering until my exit letting this show happen. I wouldn't have figured that out if it weren't for him entering the employee only door to discuss some inaudible stuff with the cashier. He looked defeated and removed and basically past the point of caring it appeared. On the wall is a sign stating WE CANNOT AFFORD TO HAVE A SINGLE DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER. Really now!?!?!?! I'm here to inform them not only was I 1 dissatisfied guest, there were numerous. Apparently the sign is just for decoration and hung by the trash receptacle. Based upon my experience the sign would be best served to be inside the trash receptacle as this establishment doesn't take it serious. Here's a bit of advice: these Zaxby's employees need to spend a day observing the Zaxby's at St. John's Town Center on Gate Parkway to know what great service is all about. Plus, their sign about not having dissatisfied customers they take seriously.

This place is okay. Huge salads for the price. Toast served with almost everything. Large portions. If you are hungry for fried chicken with a thick crispy batter, and in a rush, come here. I prefer a lighter, less well done batter but that's a personal choice. My son in law really does like this place and would probably rate it a 4. FYI they charge for their dipping sauce. It's probably a good idea so ppl don't waste it but I was surprised when I glanced at the receipt. They asked if I'd like sauces with our 4 chicken orders, "sure 2 each please" The drive threw girl didn't mention that it already came with 1 then she charged us $2. for 8 sauces. Not a big deal but a surprise. Their sauces are good. First time I've noticed that additional cost a fast food drive thru. This was one of the better franchises if this chain. Hot food was hot, cold salads were cold. We will go back because my son in law likes this place. Nothing wrong, good service. Had a slight wait because they ran out of fries. The kids meal is large enough for an adult. Only 1 adult in our group finished everything in our meal. Most of us didn't bother with that toast. In general the food at this chain taste a little bland to me but the sauces are good. I'd eat here over KFC in a heartbeat.

WARNING!!! Unless you want to overpay or wait endlessly for incorrect orders, do NOT stop here. The one star is because we couldn't leave ZERO. One girl working at the at a packed counter, many in the back but considering how long we waited, only one must be cooking. Our order was pretty simple, or so we thought. Two-4 piece, one 3 piece and 10 BONELESS wings. She read it back as exactly that. We waited about 15 minutes to get our food. The wings were bone-in and yep, she charged us $3 more for them. We got the correct meal but never got our money back. We had coleslaw but we're not provided any utensil to eat it. Since we had a long wait, we got to talk to other customers, who were also irritated. We saw a table of people who left, without their food. Another woman ordered before she got there and still waited 15 minutes, half of her lunch half hour. If Raising Cane's comes to Florida, watch out. Faster, better food, better work ethic. So extremely disappointed.

They also offer it in their frozen meal prep section, which makes it an easy go-to meal option. One of the servers told me it includes brown rice, turkey burnt ends, edamame, carrots, green onions, sesame seeds, and Korean BBQ sauce. Not only are the ingredients surprisingly nutritious, but the combination is incredibly flavorful and satisfying. This was easily one of my favorite things I tried at the festival, and I'll definitely be making a trip to their Tinseltown location soon to add it to my regular rotation. I usually get the sweet potato fries and a burger without the bread, so I get it as a lettuce wrap. The fries are always good, and I really like the sauce too. I also like their pizzas, including the frozen ones. My main issue lately has been the burger patty. I assume they make the patties in house because the size seems to be different every time, but the last couple of times I've gone, the patty has been extremely small. It was more like a little meatball than a burger patty, which is disappointing when you're ordering a cheeseburger. If they are making the patties by hand, I think they could really benefit from weighing or measuring each patty so they are more consistent. I still like the healthier options and some of the food here, but the burger quality has definitely gone downhill for me the last couple of visits.

Our server was very personable. My wife also really liked the calamari the couple with us had, and it did seem good in the small taste I had of it. We didn't like the bread as much as last time (over a year ago). I'd say it was about average this time. At least it was warm, and the butter was nicely salty and close to room temperature. The house salad with house dressing was still good, but possibly not as good as last time. My main of spaghetti Amatriciana was merely pleasant ($27.04). I thought the same of our companion's carbonara, though I only had a taste. I did really like the sauce of our other companion's gnocci arrabiata, though it was a bit spicy, so maybe I wouldn't have liked it it I'd eaten the whole dish. I'm tempted to try the gnocci alla romana if we come here again. The setting is fairly nice. They dim the lights at night, and put lamps on the table. We preferred the booth on our previous visit, however, but there are only four of them, and we'd have had to get there at perhaps 6:30 on a Friday night to snag one (we were a bit later this time). The other negative was that an insect buzzed around our lamp some. The thing I liked least about this meal was the nickel and diming. There were three extra fees that I don't remember from last time: A 4% credit card fee. They mentioned the menu prices were for cash, but didn't say the amount of the credit card fee. Most people will miss the mention anyway. Given that most people don't pay with cash these days, it's just a way of misleadingly charging higher prices than those listed on the menu. They also charged $6 to split a dish. I've heard of split fees, of course, and my wife and I always share food, since she doesn't eat a lot, but I think this is the first time I've actually been charged for it. Finally, they charged $2 to add a house salad to an entree; I believe it was included last time. The bread was still included this time, but limited to two slices per person; it's generally unlimited. All these things left a bad taste in my mouth, and make me think of awarding the restaurant 2 stars (below average) instead of 3. Also, the waiter never mentioned dessert prices. I wish they were on the main dinner menu, but there wasn't any dessert menu. He just brought over dessert samples and we chose. We may try this place again, but probably when prices are lower: lunch or daily hour. The latter has $7-11 apps. Some other recommended dishes here are parmigiana, pizza, and tiramisu.
