Insult to injury was the guy in dreadlocks who wanted to make sure everyone could see his boxers by having his pants all the way below his hips. Got drive thru on 7/16 around 6 pm (see receipt in pictures). When we got home, there were only 3 chicken fingers (there were supposed to be 6) and no coleslaw. I drove back and went inside. The manager called to the kitchen, "6 finger plate with slaw!". They handed me the new order (no cost) and I left. I decided to check the order in the car. There were only 5 fingers! This fried chicken franchise can be found in 17 states in the United States. The menu is pretty basic and only focuses on the sale of fried chicken. It offers only 3 types of chicken sandwich and the rest of the menu is based on nuggets, chicken wings and salad. I had the opportunity to try signature sandwich and is ok very basic it comes with , they are a bit simple because it only comes with pickles and sauce. When we visited this location there was no car in front of us (drive-thru). We didn't have to wait for food, once we got to the pick-up window our order was ready. I was surprised how fast! Drove into Zaxby's in Simpsonville Sunday evening. They weren't taking orders inside, so we sat for 40 minutes behind 4 or 5 cars in the slowest driv-thru line I've ever experienced. While waiting, we went ahead and ordered online, which didn't help much at all. Finally got our food...no apology, no explanation. The service was none existent. The woman in the front never acknowledged us. I kept thinking she would at least say hello but even though we were the only people at the register she never said a word to us. My husband and i stood there for 9 minutes unacknowledged. The young girl working the drive through tried to explain to my husband that the other woman had to take our order but by then I was unwilling to spend my money here. Maybe she was having a bad day. Went here after a long day of work to get some dinner for me and my significant other and was extremely disappointed that the chicken smelled like burnt cigarettes and tasted the same. We heard someone else complaining about it when we came in and the manager just made excuses and finally gave the couple their money back. This is usually an after church spot for us and my family loves it. Since there are usually five of us, the most economical way to order is larger quantities instead of plates or combo's. We usually get the 20 finger option, two baskets each of fries and Texas Toast and drinks. I hate the tea here. I have tried it numerous times. The softdrink machine is one of those that you have a gazillion options, which is great, except when it is crowded. The upside of so many options is the variety, the downside is that no one can make up their mind quickly and many people don't know how to work it anyway. So I just get water. The chicken fingers are well breaded and not too greasy, indicating that when the fingers hit the fryer, the oil is up to temperature and not making the fingers limp or slick with grease. While tasty, the chicken fingers are always on the salty side due to the marinade. One time, I had some extremely salty chicken and complained on the website and they did replace the meal along with a separate discount for our next visit. The explanation, the marinade was not properly stirred and my wings got an extra dose of salt. Seriously, this is enough salt to make you thirsty all day which then makes you think you gained five lbs because you ate fried chicken, when really it is water weight. Each chicken finger is about 100 calories, so not too bad. My kids like the seasoning on the fries, which are a little larger cut than most fast food places. The fries have paprika and SALT, again. I have not found their hot sauces to be flavorful. The heat is there but not the depth of the sauce, just a bluntness, whether it is the hot, nuclear or blazing option, it's just heat without flavor. I decided today to give them another shot. I waited in the drive thru for atleast 20-30 minutes. When I got home the chicken tasted and smelled like plastic. I couldn't even eat it. This is not the best Zaxby's around. I've given them about many chances. The service is slow and the food is never prepared consistently. I mean, pull forward for a salad. Also, with other meals I noticed that fries are sparsely given, chicken tenders are like cut in half, the salads lack ingredients and ....lettuce. It's as if they guess on how to make things and no pride or thought is given. Are people not trained? Is a reference guide not available or used? Everyone seems so miserable here too.
