We DoorDash Zaxbys because we got recommended to try it while we're in NC. We ordered the Boneless Wings Zax Packz, fried pickles, a gallon of sweet tea, and a large peach sweet tea (we accidentally got unsweetened instead but we're still pleasantly surprised). We ordered our wings in lemon pepper, hot honey mustard, and sweet & spicy and lemon pepper was everyone's favorite flavor! The box was more than plenty for 5 people. I would probably skip out on the fried pickles next time since we thought they were okay. We brought the gallon of iced tea back with us to NY but it's very refreshing. Going through the reviews I realized I should have stayed away from this location. I work in a dentist office that's a distance away not by too much though, I placed an online order for pick up via drive through to be prepared at 12:00pm, I arrived at 12:07, I let them know I placed an order gave them my name and everything they told me to pull up to the next window I do as they said, they then tell me an order that has nothing to do with mine at all which I kindly let them know I had an online order. They told me to pull into the parking lot, where they proceeded to come out every 5 minutes asking me what I ordered. 40 minutes later I was told my order was given to someone else while the girl next to the lady that told me was trying not to laugh. I've never left a review on anything because I know things like this can sometimes happen but it took them 40 minutes to tell me my order was given to someone else? And then tried making me wait another 10-20 minutes to have it redone? By the time I was going to get food my lunch break is over. I kindly told them to just not worry about it and that I need to get back to work, I wish I could leave a 0 star rating, clearly this location has poor management lack of communication and low standards. This restaurant is only getting one star from me because of the manager today. TOTALLY unfriendly. I did not appreciate the condescending look given to me and acting as though I didn't exist. One of the workers took her time out as she was cleaning the restaurant to make sure I had a good meal. That's what has been keeping me coming back to give business to this location. This manager today stood there looking at us both with such an unfriendly look that it made me uncomfortable. I usually come here from my Amazon block to eat between blocks. I was the Assistant Manager for this location. I filed a complaint with HR about all of the health violations at this store and was let go a day later for "poor performance." In my short time here, I've seen so many things that make me never want to eat here unless I make the food myself. To the public, I must admit, we failed you all. I say WE because I did nothing to stop the violations as they happened. I've seen food dropped and still given to customers, and I've seen undercooked food being served. It's sickening. There really isn't much for me to say about this Zaxby's, except the fact that this will likely be my go-to Zaxby's, based on my current location. This restaurant is easy to locate, and is inviting. The interior has been kept up to date and is more modern than most other Zaxby's that I have been to. The food here is exactly how you would want your Zaxby's order to be. Whenever I order their Big Zax Snak, it is perfect. The chicken tenders are juicy and piping hot, the french fries are seasoned heavily and crisp. They really do a great job at this location. Everything comes out extremely quick too. When I got my lunch yesterday, I ordered at the counter and it was ready after just 3 minutes. The staff are incredible as well. I had a problem with one of my coupons and they were able to help solve my problem immediately. Why yes, I see why this location has a two star rating. Unbelievable! I just waited in a drive-through for 22 minutes. I waited so long in the drive-through that I literally had time to read every sign on the window, learn all about the menu because I was the only person at the window staring into the window for 22 minutes. I'm not sure what happened but after 20 minutes of waiting at the window, mind you I am the only car in the window, I start blowing my horn and one of the people came, I caught this guy earlier, sitting in the window on his cell phone, it was unbelievable that I waited this long at a drive-through. Once the guy came to the window, I asked him what the problem was and why was he had been 20 minutes. His exact words was my bad Bruh. He said that his cooks were really slow. To whom it may concern, According to Google, the Zaxby's location was scheduled to close at 10:30 PM tonight. My family and I arrived at approximately 10:16 PM after completing an exhausting 8-hour drive from Philadelphia, PA to Durham. When we pulled up to the drive-thru, we politely said hello and waited for a response. After about two minutes, a young woman finally responded and informed us that they were no longer taking drive-thru orders. I found this odd, considering it was well before the listed closing time. Still hoping to place our order, I parked and walked up to the restaurant--only to find the doors locked and the staff unwilling to acknowledge us. I was shocked and extremely frustrated. My wife, our three daughters, and I were all looking forward to trying Zaxby's for the first time, and this experience left a very negative impression. This situation is a clear example of why customer service matters. Frankly, after this encounter, I'm not sure I'll ever give Zaxby's another try. Whoever was working the night shift on 4/8/2025 at this location should be held accountable for their lack of professionalism and disregard for customers. Quite possibly the worst Zaxby's within the Triangle. The dining area is shutdown due to Covid-19 (quite understandable), which also means that you can't pick up any orders that you can make online. With the drive-thru being the only option, you have double the wait time than usual (today's wait time was 40 minutes). I ordered a 5 finger chicken plate with sides of cole slaw and fries, and the lady at the drive-thru window tells me that they are out of cole slaw. I reluctantly accept a double side of fries, only to discover that the manager was shutting the store down completely at 5:55 PM on 3/18/21 for an unknown reason. He places a few orange cones in front of the drive-thru with signage that says "Sorry, we are closing." Presumably, the reason for the shutdown was due to this Zaxby location running out of food, since there wasn't a cloud in the sky and no threat of a severe storm. Such garbage. I've only been to Zaxby's a handful of times and their menu seems to be in a smaller print than I can see easily, so it takes me a while (or have my eyes gotten that bad?!). They have several $5.99 specials right now to choose from. I got the spicy honey BBQ boneless wings that come with fries, Texas toast, celery and ranch dressing And a drink. Now that's a deal! My spouse got the same deal only with chicken tenders. I think they also had a sandwich option and maybe another of some sort for the same price. Again - deal! The sauce on the boneless wings had a little too much kick for me and the chicken itself was a bit over fried. My spouse liked her tenders enough to say she'd get them again and she's not that into the tenders. She choose teriyaki sauce, which she didn't care for, but I did. Next time! The dining area is a pretty good size and seems to be well taken care of, clean, tidy. The one thing I notice with any of their locations, no matter what time of year I visit, it's freezing cold in there! What's up with that?! I went to Zaxby's this pass weekend to satisfy my brother's craving for chicken and to my surprise he chose Zaxby's + I was grateful that he did because I had a coupon. When I arrived in the restaurant my immediate thought was WOW! This is nice. The store was extremely clean and things were in place. There was nothing on the floors just an overall clean Restaurants. The bathroom were just as clean. When I approached the counter the cashier was really nice + sweet and she seemed really happy to help me. I gave her my coupon and she didn't know how to put it in so they had to call a manager. He didn't seem to thrilled about my coupon and he kind of had an attitude which is why I took away one star. But the actual staff was amazing. Our food came out extremely fresh. I ended up ordering the wings + things and the chicken finger plate and I would have paid about $21 dollars but with my coupon it came down to $14 which was pretty good. We ended up dining in and there were plenty of places to sit. The parking lot is great as well. There was some trash out there that someone just put on the ground from their car but other than that everything was fantastic. Overall this is by far the best Zaxby's I have been too. That's not even the issue-- it was the disregard and attitude I felt as when I got my food, I said thank you, and nothing was said back-- just close the little window and went it her marry way. Now the food is just mediocre -- almost burnt + cold bread AND fries.. with a small plastic side dressing cup that didn't compliment the ratio at all with a shit ton of fries I was given. The overall rating of this location is 2 STARS and seems like the manager and/or team at this location seem to be okay with it which is not a good thing. People want to have a decent/good experience as they go out their way to drive to a location for food and end up just getting an attitude from someone and cold food.
