I visited today after a friend highly recommended this place as somewhere great to eat and get work…read moredone. I came in planning to order food and a golden turmeric latte and spend some time working. When I walked in, there was a messy looking podium which turned out to be an unmanned hostess stand, but there were no signs or instructions indicating whether I should wait to be seated or order at the counter. I started walking toward the counter when a tall woman quickly stomped her way to block my entrance and demanded to know what I wanted. Then asked if I was dining in or ordering to go. The way she rushed over and her tone made me feel as though I had done something wrong just by walking in. The interaction felt unnecessarily aggressive and confrontational. I was so taken aback that I just ordered a golden latte to go. I felt embarrassed by how the situation was handled, especially in front of other customers. Any excitement I had about trying their food disappeared after that moment. And I was not allowed past the podium. I was basically by the door while I waited. Unfortunately, the interaction didn't improve from there. The barista handed me my drink while keeping noticeable distance, which added to the uncomfortable feeling as if I wasn't meant to move past the entrance area. As someone new to the neighborhood, the overall experience felt very unwelcoming. I even tried to lighten the situation by mentioning that a friend had recommended the place and that I was new to the area, but I was cut off mid-sentence. The drink itself was also disappointing. Compared to golden lattes I've had elsewhere, this one was very grainy and lacked flavor. It tasted more like hot water with sediment than a well-balanced turmeric drink. Given this experience, I don't plan to return. For a small café that wasn't busy at the time, the presence of a hostess-style setup without a hostess there felt unnecessary, and the customer service did not match the welcoming atmosphere I was hoping for. This is not a high end place and I was wearing a bouse, black pants, and dress shoes. So I'm not sure what that was.

If you want fresh, Tex Mex food that is good, come here! We were out strolling Bishop Arts district…read moreand came across Tejas. We ordered guacamole, ceviche, and chipotle chicken taco. Everything was so damn good! The guac was guac'ing! Chunks of avocado in the guac (how I like it!). The white fish and shrimp in the ceviche was so fresh and well seasoned. The taco was equally delicious I ordered a skinny cucumber margarita. It was just ok. I like my drinks strong (I like to taste my 'likkuh') and this wasn't strong at all, but it was quite refreshing. The complimentary chips and salsa is bomb!!! "Fresh" is the theme of my review lol. You can tell the salsa is freshly made and not straight out of a can or jar. It had a nice spicy kick.

Great location. Attentive service. Excellent Tex-Mex…read more Tejas is located near the heart of Bishop Arts, offering outdoor patio seating, bar seating, and a comfortable dining room. There's free parking across the street, but it often fills quickly during busy hours--which in Bishop Arts is most of the time. The décor is a fun mix of "Tex" and "Mex." The menu features tacos, enchiladas, soups, salads, and fajitas. They don't offer combo plates, so I ordered the tacos pastor along with a side of crispy beef tacos. Both were excellent and served promptly. Bonus: the draft beer was ice-cold. The wait staff checked in often, making my Friday late lunch a relaxing break. Definitely worth a visit!

I received the third degree from at least 3 servers making sure i was going to fill the table. I assured them i was. You have to get here early bc otherwise you can't get a place to sit. I ordered a lemonade and mac and cheese. Mac and cheese took like 30 min and was $10 for a small bowl. Better than last time i was here but not worth the wait. It took so long and my friend who arrived after me got her potato skins i was like maybe they forgot about me. When i was finally able to flag down a server i was told the kitchen was backed up but that they could check on it for me. I had also asked for water with no cucumber which finally came an hour later when i asked again. The servers seemed to be avoiding us and when you could get someone to stop they were disinterested and acted like i was inconveniencing them. I had my hand up for several minutes bc i had no idea how to get my servers attention for a box, my check and my water. The food here is overpriced and the service is terrible. The patio was freezing and loud. 10/10 do not recommend.

Upscale, farm-to-table concept in the center of Bishop Arts!…read more My friend and I dined at Written and had a wonderful experience! The interior is modern with a rustic touch. Our server was very friendly and attentive! Drink: Spicy Hibiscus Margarita - Fruity and spicy all in one refreshing cocktail. 10/10! App: Butternut Squash Focaccia - So delicious! The focaccia was light and fluffy. The bits of balsamic soaked into the bread added just the right amount of tanginess. Mains: Kimchi Scallion Pancakes and Korean Glass Noodles - Both were packed with flavor and spice! I loved the chewiness of the pancakes and the savory kimchi. The noodles had a great bite and were perfectly coated in an umami sauce. Overall, everything was fantastic! Can't wait to come back, as they change their menu based on the seasons!

I will admit walking by this restaurant many times when I'm in Bishop Arts and it's only recently…read morethat I finally found out the last word in the title is Seasons not Stars. This Michelin recommended restaraunt is no joke however, as it's home to a great selection of seasonal offerings, to delight any palette. My friend and I split the dishes we ordered between us and I highly recommend doing so as the portions can be large, depending on the item. We selected the Butternut Squash Foccacia (with an herb olive oil). This bread is pretty heavenly as it's soft but slightly flaky, paired with the olive oil it melts in the mouth. Secondly, we ordered the Kimchi Pancakes (scallion, daikon radish and sprouts) and the Spicy Korean Glass Noodles (with mushrooms, bok choy, scallions, soy-ginger sauce, peppers, and a sambal). Overall I'd say the last dish wasn't my favorite because the sauce was a bit on the runnier side for my liking, but I enjoyed the kimchi pancakes, especially the dip that comes with it. For drinks, we both ordered the same cocktail; Spicy Hibiscus Margarita (Don Fulano Blanco Tequila, hibiscus concentrate, lime, agave, and jalapeño) and I really enjoyed it even though it was a whopping $19 each. I was glad to visit a place that earns its spot alongside very select and highly favorable establishments and I would definitely recommend it to others.
