I always sit at the bar and talk with the waitresses or waiters while I enjoy my drink, talking about our days, what's going on in life, then 10-15 mins later my food comes out! Always exactly what I order, never unsatisfied with food quality, and most importantly I feel welcome! Since I have gone so many times, once I'm recognized, we make jokes that I always order "the usual," an iced tea with a bbq bacon cheeseburger (and it's true, lol). Overall, if you are ever on a roadtrip, in town shopping around, or hanging with friends, and want to get a quick bite to eat, chat with someone locally, the Nighthawk Tavern is the place to go!

Menus and water were served promptly and the food was brought to our table piping hot. Even the fries, the failure point for most restaurants were hit and crisp. The pizzas, described as Chicago Style, were a thin crust pie. (Somebody needs to visit Chicago-Town for a primer). But, both pies disappeared. A fajita bowl and burrito bowl both vanished. My Greek gyro was overstuffed with lamb and fillings. Absolutely fantastic. And the spicy chicken fingers also vanished. Zero leftovers on ole servings. The food was that good. And service was attentive and water was consistently refilled. Just one caveat, for larger groups, Nighthawk Tavern adds a gratuity to the check. They're very transparent, as the tip is clearly shown. I still added a few bucks to the total. If you're in Dahlonega. you'll be more than happy with Nighthawk Tavern. And you certainly won't leave hungry.

While awaiting our food, one of the employees started yelling politics at the TV which was located behind us. At first I ignored it, but then he returned and continued again, which at this point I politely asked him to stop. At this point, I'd had enough of his juvenile behavior and called him out on his statement and added that we came for lunch and not his political ranting. At this point he shut up, wisely. As for the food, average. They charge a surcharge for using a credit card and also the prices charged did not match the published prices on the menu, to their benefit of course. That's dishonest. We won't be back and will advise our local friends as well. Pro tip: religion and politics are NOT appropriate employee conversions amongst the paying customers.

There's a lot of interesting looking items on the menu, but I come here for the wings. I usually order a 10 wing combo with fries and a drink. At ~$15, it's not particularly cheap, but it's roughly in line with the current market. Choose from ~29 flavors. I honestly don't necessarily have a go to. I also would like to recommend Fireball consider adding a spicy barbecue sauce as one of the flavor options. The wings and fries have been perfect every single visit. It's honestly remarkable that they haven't missed yet considering how many times I've visited. As with anything, this is of course a matter of personal preference. I'm sure some may prefer extra crispy. They'll, of course, happily oblige any customer who requests it. Among the many great things about this restaurant is the fact that they don't nickel-and-dime you. All flats or all drums often carries a surcharge, but not at this restaurant. Some places (I'm looking at you Zaxby's) are very stingy with sauces. I'm sure there are hard limits to how much they will give for free, but I once saw the owner give a regular customer a few ramekins of yum yum sauce for no charge, even though the customer was prepared to pay. I usually choose to dine in, and the dining room is pretty comfortable. There are a ton of condiments available, including lemon pepper and Cajun seasoning. The drink options are standard in some ways but unique in others, with the option for Fruit Punch. and this Peach Drink, along with the usual soda favorites. I agree with Denise. I'd say this is probably the best restaurant between Atlanta and Charlotte.

We walked in the door as our Pan Pizza was coming out of the oven. At first taste we realized this was the Pizza Hut we grew up on, not the one they are serving at other locations.
