Stopped by for lunch on Monday while running errands. I had not stopped in a Captain D's in a long time and wanted a switch from burgers and chicken. They did not disappoint that was for sure. Had the two piece fish meal with Green Beans and Seasoned rice. Service was quick from the time I walked in till I got my order from the counter. One thing I wish was that they had soy sauce for the rice, just like all my rice no matter what with a taste of soy sauce. Restaurant was very clean and well kept. Just love green beans served in the south with the extra ham in it and a little salt to go with them. Fish was cook well and spot on. Keep up the great work. read more

I've been a Captain D's fan since I was a young kid. The franchise in my small hometown was always a town favorite. It was always good food, good service and run very well. Cant say that for every Captain D's franchise. I haven't had Cpt D's for years because the local franchise near me isn't a favorite. However, while passing through Cleveland Ga, we saw this store. The property itself looked very well maintained. The store was busy on a Wednesday eve, so that was another good sign. I was ready for some! I ordered a 3- pc fish dinner with Mac and cheese and hush puppies. (My go to.) Wife had fish and chicken combo, fries and hush puppies. This was a drive through carryout order. We arrived home and dove right in. Man.....just like I used to remember! Fish was still hot and Crunchy! Yum! Slathered in the best to go tartar sauce on the planet, this was a fish feast of the ages. I have to admit, I was skeptical trying another Captain D's after so many failures of the years. But this store seemed to have it all together. Well done! Service was fast, friendly and the order was hot and correct. My husband and I have used the online order system thinking we could just pick up our order and go. Each time, the folks have said they did not get our order. So we have to wait for the order to be completed. I used to like this place, but I will no longer be a customer since they do not treat their customers with respect. They need to note on their website that they do not take online orders. This had been very frustrating and when I asked to speak to the manager she indicated they don't have time to check the computer. We have been long time customers but we will not be going to your establishment again. read more

The food was good as usual but the service was terrible. Rude, teenage cashier who acted annoyed when I asked for hot sauce when I ordered, then practically threw butter and sour cream my way when I had to return to the counter to dress my baked potato. We were overcharged $2.29 for a drink that came with the fish combo. We won't return to this particular location. read more

We love the senior menu. Our favorite is the grilled white fish meal. We order it with broccoli and macaroni and cheese. The service is fast and great and the food is outstanding. We try to eat there at least once a week. read more

Unbelievable!! I ordered shrimp pasta. I like cocktail sauce with my shrimp. I asked if I could have some sauce and she repeated my order(which I thought was odd). She then tells me that she will have to charge me for the sauce because I didn't order anything that called for cocktail sauce. I've never in my life heard such!! My wife and decided to go out for dinner. We both love seafood so Captain D's is our usual go to spot. We went in and ordered our food. I got the Deluxe seafood platter and she ordered the 2 piece fish dinner when our order was taken they asked if we needed any sauces and we both requested extra tartar sauce. After we paid the manager instructed us where to sit as they were closing soon and didn't want to have to reclean any sections. Not a very customer friendly request , but one we were willing to comply with. When the buzzing coaster went off I went to pick up our food and saw the there was 2 one ounce cups of tartar sauce just over half full on our tray and I politely requested more and the manager pointed to a sign at the end of the counter and said rudely "will you please read the sign sir" like I'm a 6 year old child, it said that they are experiencing a sauce shortage. So then I said so we only get 2 half full cups for our meals and that's when she reluctantly agreed to ALLOW US TO HAVE 1 additional half full cup bringing our total tartar sauce ration to nearly 2 ounces to go with 4 fish filets, 6 shrimp and 2 stuffed crabs. I reached out to the owner of the restaurant to inform him of my dissatisfaction with our visit and basically was blown off with the reply " I apologize, there is shortages beyond our control. Jim" I have no future plans to return here or to any of his restaurants in Tacoa or Dahlonega. Good luck staying open treating your cash paying customers like this. read more

I love Capt. D's fried catfish. I wish they would put a spicy grilled catfish on the menu similar tour to Cracker Barrel's. But anyway this is where I go for catfish when I crave it. I also like their variety of veggies. They are all so tasty. read more
