I would like to update my review. It's been a couple of years since my fiancée and I dined at a Zaxby's. So sad they are only in the south. The nearest one is outside of Lexington, Kentucky. I only eat this once a year when I visit my parents. They've added so much to this menu since we last went. They added wings, more dessert, and added more spice to their sauces. My go to is the Zax snack which is 3 tenders, seasoned crinkle fries, toasted buttered Texas toast and their signature sauce. My fiancée gets the meal with coleslaw. And last , my mom gets the kids meal. I've never had a bad experience at any of the locations. They are consistent, food is always hot and fresh. Not to mention the tenders are moist, not greasy, love the bread and flavor. They now do online ordering using their app. If you had Canes chicken and like it, you will love Zaxby's better in my opinion. Service is always great and quick. I love this place so much. I can't say I've ever had a bad experience at a Zaxby's since my lady turned me on to them. The food is always fast and good, the service excellent, and the atmosphere always has a local feel. If only they'd come closer to Cincinnati. Their menu has expanded a bit since my last visit but I had to get my four piece tenders with fries and slaw. My lady always gets the three piece with fries. Her mom came along for this visit too and got a kids' meal. As usual, we didn't wait long at all, and everything was hot and fresh. My only gripe is that I tried the spicy's Zaxby's sauce this time and honestly didn't find it spicy at all. Maybe black pepper spicy but that was it. This has consistently been the worst Zaxby's I have ever been to. Idk why I gave it so many chances. Covid has been over for a few years now and the service is still terrible. Every single time I come here, I have to wait at least 30 minutes in the drive thru even with only 1 or 2 cars ahead of me. I'm beyond sick of it. And every single time they forget the sauce, napkins, straws, all of it. When you ask for it, they give you an attitude. Today, the cashier was exceptionally rude even though I stayed respectful and calm even after waiting 30 minutes in the drive thru. I only ordered 2 sandwich meals. She told me to pull around and I asked her what we were waiting for because it had already been 30 minutes. I would've gladly changed my order for something else if it would've been ready faster. She never answered my question and instead slammed the window in my face in the middle of me talking. She then proceeded to laugh around with her coworkers and handed me my food not even a minute later. Why ask me to pull up if it was ready? Why give ME a snappy attitude when I'm the one being extremely patient given the current situation? And my order STILL wasn't correct. I'm done. So not a great first impression. The person taking my order was a little stand-off-ish. And the table we sat at had seats that were very sticky. The food was alright though. I'm very disappointed with this Zaxby's. I love Zaxby's but thus one has let me down this past few months. It's the closest otherwise I'll have to drive further but this is my last time going here. The wait is at least a 25 minute wait at the drive thru. Once you get in line you can't get out. My boneless wings are deep fried maybe 2 or 3 times. They are so hard that I broke my fork. They aren't fresh and tender. The fries are cold and old tasting as well. My drink is the only good thing about the meal. The employees which are all young we're just standing around in a group chatting. No sense of urgency or care for their customers. The young lady at the window barely smiled. Please someone do something to get this place back on track!!! I wrote this a year ago & here I am again. Please, please, please someone train your employees to be courteous, respectful, presentable... the customer service they are providing is unbelievable. One that says "I don't want to be here, just give me your order so I can get my paycheck." First time at this Zaxbys, I'm pretty happy!! Ordered the Kickin chicken meal with a Ginger ale and it was great. The fries were fried to perfection, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and the sandwich was made with extra sauce, at my request and was awesome!! What ended my visit on the greatest note was that the manager wanted to make sure I was happy with my meal, even gave me a free sauce and wished me a great night. I have a difficult time choosing a meal at Zaxby's. I am a true fan of chicken and the many ways a chicken can be prepared. In my opinion this restaurant does a poor job of varying the ways you can prepare chicken, but the prices for many of the items is similar, high. I ordered the "Cajun Club" it was delicious, just like the other grilled sandwiches around town. My review of four stars is for the quality of the sandwich. Upon first entrance, this Zaxby's was extremely nice! We made our way up to the counter only to encounter un encouraged workers who didn't have the "southern hospitality" that we'd thought we'd get. A few of the employees were in the lobby just relaxing and having loud conversations (not sure if it's always like this or if we just came at an odd time. Besides the employees, the lobby was pretty clean and inviting. We received our food and we got some pretty good portion sizes for about $10, we ordered a platter that came with wings, fries and chicken tenders with the famous garlic bread. There was a good amount of choices for sauce for the wings, which is a plus. I ordered a hot wing style sauce which was okay at best. The food was okay, the service, not too good. So therefore, I rate this Zaxby's visit a 3/5. read more

Typical Zaxby's! Nothing stood out as being great or horrible during my visit! My son said that the Nibbler meal, $6.29 and comes with drink, is great, because they put Zax Sauce on it. Here's why: every week someone tells me how much they love zaxby's or how good and fast their food/order is. So usually every six months I convince myself there is something wrong with me, or my experience was a one-off, so I give it another try. The food is good, but I sure hope the service has improved since I left the Army. When I was in the Army, I worked in an office that did not allow us to take a normal lunch. Instead, if we wanted to get food, we either ordered delivery or would send one or two people out to get food and bring it back. This can be quite overwhelming for a business and we would always call ahead of time to place our order. This business, however, would not allow us to do that. I was in charge of one of these "food runs" (as we called them) and everyone wanted Zaxby's. This location being the closest to Fort Gordon, I went there. Because they wouldn't take our order ahead of time over the phone, I placed (and paid for) every order individually. Like I said, I understand it can be overwhelming and can cause a line (which is why we wanted to place it over the phone beforehand), but they were very rude to me the entire time. One of my former co-workers went there another time for the same reason and after getting the food, the manager told him our office was no longer welcome to place large orders with them again, and that we would have to come in individually. Needless to say, we never went to Zaxby's again. Instead, we took our business to other local restaurants who were understanding and would work with us. I had high hopes for Zaxby's but was pretty let down. The line in the drive-thru took longer than any restaurant I've ever been too. The cars waiting in line blocked cars from backing out which was stressful too. By the time I ordered I ordered the Cobb salad and fried pickles. The fried pickles were kind of nasty. They were soaking in grease and the pickle was so wilted I could barely taste it. I won't be ordering them again. The Cobb salad was actually really good though. I might order it again, it is overpriced though. I spent over $10 for a salad and pickles. The girl at the window was very sweet but didn't seem to be in a hurry at all even after me waiting 15 minutes in the drive-thru. Where do I start? When I walked into this establishment I noticed that it was dirty. The floor was sticky and could really use a good sweeping. There was trash underneath the Beverage machine, the area where the Sweet tea is was dirty and the ice machine was over flowing. I walked to the counter and ordered my food. The gentleman advised me that the item that I was trying to order is no longer available. I changed my order and upon paying asked for a military discount. That's when I was advised that there is NO discount for military. So now we are at strike 3 ( Strike 1, nasty establishment Strike 2 Item no longer available and strike 3 no discount). I received my drink cups and asked for a drink carrier and was then told they don't have any. So now I am forced to carry 4 drinks and food to the car without spilling. As I am leaving I see a young lady sweeping the floor but instead of her taking the dust pan and sweeping dirt in as she goes, she's just leaving piles all around the store causing people to step over her pile. Got home and began to eat and was disappointed in the food choice that I chose. It could be because of the experience before getting the food or it could be because it was just mediocre. NEVER GO TO THIS ZAXBYS. I wish i could give this Zaxby's one star. The most unprofessional, unorganized location in Augusta. The staff is rude and unhelpful, when I tried to call up there and explain the food I received was not at all okay, the manager (a woman), was very rude, unprofessional, and uncooperative. I asked for her name because I wanted to contact any higher ups I could reach because I am fed up with their behavior time and time again... instead of giving me her name she hung up in my face. I do enjoy me some Zaxby's, trust me. This one is right by my house, so I tend to come here often (at least once every 2 weeks). I will say that without fail I can get two things: back customer service and a longer than average wait time. The worst is the drive thru. This fast food restaurant is anything but fast most times I visit. Also, they struggle getting orders correct, especially when there are more than 2 orders. However, on the bright side, the food tastes good, so I put up with the struggles and still choose to eat there when I want something quick and close to home. We went to this establishment on Valentine's Day in between games at a soccer tournament. We arrived there at 2:50 and left at 3:35. This was one of the worst dining experiences I have had in a long time. The restaurant was filthy, all the tables were dirty and one table had a spilled drink under the table and around the floor. It took 25 minutes to get our food. The food was fine thank goodness. While eating, an employee finally cleaned some of the tables. However, she walked around the spill several times and never attempted to clean it during the entire time we were there. Additionally, the restrooms were out of toilet paper, and dirty. I used to love Zaxby's but since I am nearest this one during lunch I started coming here. Nearly every time I order drive thru they mess up my order. The waits are long and a majority of the time the customer service is horrible. They either smacked their lips at me or rolled their eyes when I would ask for ketchup or a straw for my drink. I kept going in hopes that this was a fluke but no more. This place has ruined Zaxby's for me. Worst Zaxbys I've ever been to. My husband got the big zack snack meal and I got the house salad. My bread looked like it had a bite taken out of it ((there was no way I was going to eat that)) and my husbands chicken also looked like it had a bite taken out of it ((he also didn't eat that piece)). His food was cold, like it had been sitting there for a while and they forgot my salad dressing. It was just a sad excuse for a Zaxbys.
