Tried this place out for the first time few days ago and I really enjoyed it. Kinda gave off an Asian version of Chipotle vibes. You go down the counter picking the type of rice, protein, and toppings. Despite their pre made bowls, I opted for a custom bowl. Got white rice with double protein of ahi tuna. For toppings, I got cucumbers, pineapples, and jalapeños; all of which were pretty fresh & crisp. The tuna didn't have a watery after taste like you'd get at some other poke places that serve tuna. For seasoning, I got the spicy aioli, but it wasn't as strong as I hoped, but with some sprinkled tempura flakes on top, the gave the overall texture a nice crispy crunch. Glad I tried this place out. Definitely will be back. Service was pretty slow though, so I'd come at off peak hours. Not sure if it's just one person working, but it took a while to get our food with only 2 people ahead. read more

This was the first place that popped up on Yelp when I looked up poke bowls. Walking in, it's very slow and quiet. Usually, the places I go charge you based off on how many proteins you want/the bowl size, but this place charges you based off on one protein. Price ranges from $12-$18, and have other menu items. When Hello Poke first opened, it was called Aloha Poke. I thought that it was a great name since poke originated in Hawaii. It was the first time I'd ever had poke and I loved it! You can pick different rices (sushi rice, white rice, or brown rice) as well as just lettuce if you don't want rice. There are raw choices as well as cooked choices. Then there are many different toppings and sauces to add to your bowl. It's cafeteria style so you start at the front with your base and add from there. The craving for poke hit me like a ton of bricks. Convinced my coworkers, and introduced them to the world of poke. Having lived in Southern California, I actually miss the flavors and foods that I was introduced to while living there. Having said all that, Hello Poke hit the spot and left me with not a single complaint. Maybe a teeny teeny one that I'll get to later. My bowl - I had The Amazing - was so full and fresh. "I" forgot to ask for the jalapeños to be removed, so I promptly removed them before eating. It was too late, where the jalapeños sat WAS HOT. (I'm not a spicy girly). Anyway the bowl was fantastic. Everything was fresh. A good selection of toppings to add. They didn't have furikake, but they did have seaweed salad and that made me happy. I had taro boba. Really good and the boba pearls were a good consistency. Came in a cute, reusable cup. Only complaint has nothing to do with the food. And since I've reached the end of my review, I thinking more "observation" than "complaint." The seating was so small. Either two people can sit at a table or (my coworkers & I) sat at the counters. One set faces a wall, the other looks out the window (that was decent), and the stools are small. There! That's it! My only not complaint. My husband I are were up in Augusta a few months ago and we wanted something on the healthier side on our first night. Yelp led us to Hello Poke Bowl (HPB) which was not too far from where we were staying. Having lived in Hawaii for a few years, I've had my fair share of poke (pronounced po-kay, rhymes with café) of all different types. Even local grocery stores make several batches of different flavors with high quality fish or seafood, made daily. The locals would not allow it any other way! As the love of poke catches on outside of the island, I love that the poke is being shared but with any new concept, let's just say, it gets interpreted differently. At HPB, I would describe this as a deconstructed sushi roll in a bowl. Having said, I think it's a solid place to get some fresh ingredients in a bowl, and fully customizable at that! - Service - The lady who helped us was really personable, sweet and made sure everything was to our liking. When you enter, the staff will build your bowl as you go down the service counter. You will start with rice (sushi rice, brown, white), veggies, proteins and then end with sauces. - Eats - All their ingredients are measured, but the bowls themselves are quite large and once the bowl has been assembled, the bowl is quite heavy! I got the Amazing Bowl and added Tobiko and Crispy Onions, with spicy aioli on the side. The ingredients in the Amazing Bowl has tuna, salmon, shrimp (cooked, kind of like thawed cooked shrimp, decent size, not tiny), seaweed salad, cucumbers (deseeded, I appreciated this especially when they are the regular cucumbers with big seeds), edamame, jalapeños, onions, spicy aioli. The fish was cut a nice size (poke in Hawaii, pieces are cut quite large, almost like an ice cube, but HPB's size was pretty close). Spicy Aioli is basically mayo with spicy sauce. I'm glad I got it on the side so I could mix it gradually as I ate my bowl. - Tips - If you're not a big eater and you have a buddy to eat with, share one! That's what buddies are for! My husband and I could have probably shared one bowl and maybe gotten an app and we would have had more than enough. Neither of us finished our bowls and we were stuffed. I was kind of sad I had nowhere to store the leftovers or else it would have made a second meal! They also offer a military discount which is never expected, but always appreciated! - COVID Observations - At the front, there is some counter space with stools and they've X-ed out every two stools to enforce social distancing. Came here on a suggestion of my colleague. It was spot on. I wanted something healthy and refreshing, and that is what I got! The food was fresh and tasted good. I built my own bowl. It was a bit cheaper than other poke I've been to without a drop in quality. They gave a generous portion of sushi too. The service is counter service. Kind and efficient with little wait. I've tried poke at other places, but it's just not the same as Hello Poke! The ingredients taste fresh and they give you large portions for what you pay...which is actually cheaper than most places that give you waaayyy less food. You can pick your own rice, veggies, meat, and toppings. I usually get the Amazing bowl that comes with my faves all in 1 - sushi rice, tuna, salmon, shrimp, seaweed salad, jalapeños, edamame, and onions with tempura crunch on top. It's so light and refreshing every time. Definitely no complaints from me at all! Owners are so nice too, always trying new things to see what works for their menu in addition to poke. A cute place for some fantastic poke! I gave their teriyaki chicken a try and they did not disappoint! My hubby loves their seafood bowls. Hasn't had a bad thing to say yet. I like the layout but it is very small. I have yet to go during busy times so I've been lucky with that but I can imagine it's not fun. The staff was friendly when I went. There are a couple of tables to sit if you wanted to stay and eat. There's not much of an ambiance but that's okay. It's more of a make your food and leave type place. This is a great place to eat something a little different than the normal fare around the area. Poke is very light and refreshing and this establishment offers cooked chicken for people who are wary of raw fish. They have preset bowls and build your owns and it's set up like a chipotle so that you walk along the counter with them to see all that goes in. The ingredients they use taste and look fresh and the two ladies that work here are really nice. The establishment itself doesn't have a lot of sitting, but during the pandemic, I don't see that being a huge issue. I got an amazing bowl, but I was too excited to eat it to take a picture. I had been craving a rice bowl for days and I finally broke down and tried Hello Poke. I chose the make your own bowl option. I started with sushi rice and soy rice vinegar. Then added almost all the veggies (edamame, carrots, sweet onion, cucumber, jalapeno), then added ginger. Man.. so many sauces to choose from. I asked the bowl artist to put her favorites on. She did the soy, spicy aioli, and sriracha. Added some crushed cashews and sesame seeds on top and went to eating. So good! While I was savoring every bite of crunchy jalapeno, rice, and veggies several people/regulars came in. The employee knew their orders by heart! Now that's some attentive customer service! They have a lot of options even if you don't like fish you can get chicken. There are so many toppings to chose from :) I think the fish could be fresher and they could put more in the bowl. Hello Poke Bowl is a standard poke place, nothing out of the ordinary. It's good, though! I enjoyed my meal here. I got salmon poke with almost all of the free toppings. Everything was fresh and tasty. The bowl looked small but there actually was quite a bit of food jammed into it. I chose the lettuce base but you can do white or brown rice, sushi rice or udon noodles as the base. It definitely fulfilled my poke/sushi craving. There are certain types of food you do not want to eat if done wrong. This is one of them. I gave it a few months to make sure all was well, but then found myself busy and not making it there. Well I am so glad I finally did. Now if you are familiar with the location, you know parking can be a monster. Vehicules backing up, vying for an open space in a limited area is never fun. I recommend either park on the far right end (facing the front of the plaza) or across the street at the movie theater. Just trust me on this. The space itself only holds about 20 seats so be ready to take it with you if coming during a busy time. Just as when you enter someone's home and you eat when they have selected for you so one must do when visiting a restaurant for the first time. Always choose a dish they have listed. You can come back and build a bowl another day. I went for the Tuna Wasabi for three reasons; 1) it has tuna in it which I love, 2) it has wasabi in it which I also love, and 3) a team member said it is the hottest bowl on the menu. Give me the heat! I am a big fan of options and authenticity so I appreciate the choice of white, brown, or sushi rice as a base. I am sure I had a big grin on my face as they built it one vegetable at a time then adding the tuna, topping it with the crispy onion and decorating it with the honey wasabi as a capstone. Be aware that all drinks are bottled (no fountain machine) and primarily Coke products. I do wish sake were an option (makes for a good pairing), but I understand that would be another process altogether for them. The price point is perfect for a high quality dish in this area. Order this in a larger city and you'll realize it is a great deal. I left impressed and ready to visit their Grovetown location (which has the additional option of bubble tea). If you haven't been here yet make time in your schedule to stop in soon. Your only regret will be that you waited so long to do so. read more

Not real Poké but a mainland trendy "Poké" spot. Considering this place isn't authentic and just another trendy poke restaurant, I have to take it for what it is. Overall, leaves you full but not satisfied. You have the option to build your own bowl, I recommend. It's a very new and modern way to have poke. Usually you just pick white or brown rice and what kind of poke you want and you're good to go but here you have the option to pick from one of their signature bowls or build your own. I'll have to come back and try their other fish flavors but my craving for real poke wasn't satisfied by this place. My only complaint is that the poke didn't have enough flavor and didn't taste how it was supposed to. It needed more siracha mayo and salt. They have chicken for those not into raw fish. Pretty much deconstructed sushi in a bowl. I'd say give this place a try and see for yourself. read more

The only place I go to get a poke bowl. It's convenient and clean, with reasonable prices. The variety of toppings isn't that bad either with favorites such as edamame and jalapeños. The one lady who works there is very generous with her scoop amounts which I appreciate but can't say the same about the guy with glasses. My "create your own bowl" with two spoons of tobiko ($0.50 each spoon), seaweed salad (+$1), three proteins (salmon, squid salad and imitation crabmeat), three scoops of brown rice, carrots, corn, cucumber finished with sesame seeds, crushed cashews and ponzu sauce was $15.12 with taxes. The quaint venue had fourteen seats in addition to round and rectangular tables in clear wood. Nevertheless, the customer service could be improved: The set-up of the open kitchen looks like an assembly line. The two Spanish-speaking female associates with black hair preparing my poke bowl were rude. They seem more concerned about discussing together in Spanish than serving customers. They seem annoyed to served clients and were not smiling to any customers. They made inappropriate comments in Spanish about the size of my order and the fact I was ordering a lot of different ingredients. As I am bilingual in Spanish, I understood them... You can eat on the premises or get your order to go. The shopping center has a free parking lot. A bigger sign to see their casual restaurant from the road will help. read more

Again the food, service and value are great; but I cannot in good conscience score any higher than 2-stars for having poke bowl in the name and NOT serving poke bowls and using the phrase Hawaiian poke is purely marketing as there was NOTHING that demonstrated an understanding of Hawaiian poke. read more

Stopped in here on our way to Atlanta because we were craving Poke. There was a long line but the two ladies really expedited the food very quickly. This location offers marinated tuna which makes it feel more authentic Hawaiian. We received a literal mountain of food, no skimping on ingredients! What is a food-gasm? A food-gasm is when all the different textures, flavors, and temperatures of a meal align just right to create a perfect eating experience.....Aloha Poké did that for me...and for that, I am greatful. What did I order? I ordered the Yum Yum... It consisted of chicken, shrimp, avocado, carrots, edamame, pineapple, corn, cucumber, green onion, sweet soy, sesame oil, and a partridge in a pear tree! You get to decide on the base of brown rice, white rice or sticky rice. I chose brown. The toppings come chilled and are drizzeled with the sweet soy and sesame oil (which I wish I asked to go heavy on bc they pair so good with everything!) Lastly you can choose to add toppings (for free99!). I chose the seseme seeds, crispy onion, and some crunchy dried garlic stuff (forgot the proper name). The cool toppings on top of the warm rice with the sweet soy and pineapple with the saltiness of the shrimp and crunch of the cucumber and crispy onion.....can't put into words....it's just...Mmmmm! They are very generous with the portion so expect to take a doggy bag home! Now I don't mean to be a fun snatcher but you may be asking why not five stars?? The chicken....WHYYYYY?!!? The chicken is bland. Real bland. I wish it was seasoned and grilled, but its white, cubed and damn near flavor-less...seems like they just boiled it or something...eh.
